Lin Lan pretended not to hear his comments and she paused for a moment, “Old Four, you see, it’s a mess here and I can’t hear you clearly. You should go back first.”
Han Qinghua stopped talking and just sat there looking at her.
Lin Lan thought that he was blocking the door and she would have to pass by him first to go out, which was not appropriate, so she continued to work, pretending not to be on guard against him.
Suddenly, she saw Han Qinghua stand up and actually walk towards her!
Lin Lan suddenly tensed up and clenched the awl.
When she saw Han Qinghua reaching out to her, she tilted her body and stabbed him with the awl in her hand.
Han Qinghua blocked it with his arm, but the needle couldn’t pierce through it because he was wearing a thick cotton coat. He grabbed Lin Lan’s wrist and swept the small scissors and the other items on the side to the ground with his other hand.
He looked at the awl in her hand, his face turning cold instantly as he growled, “Lin Lan, you are so cruel. Sending me to labour reform was not enough for you, but you also want to kill me? Ah?”
Lin Lan didn’t talk nonsense with him. She slapped him hard with her left hand, and his head tilted, “Get out of here or I will make sure you stay in the labour reform farm for the rest of your life!”
Han Qinghua was filled with anger. He used the difference in strength between their genders to control her hands and squeeze her against the sewing machine. He looked down at her, how could she be so bad, so evil! This vicious woman! He said bitterly,”How can you be so bad! You’re so horrible!”
Lin Lan opened her mouth to shout, but Han Qinghua quickly released her grip and raised his hands, “Don’t shout, this is all just a misunderstanding, a misunderstanding.”
Lin Lan stared at him coldly, “Misunderstanding? Why did you sneak up on me? If you keep your distance, did you think that I was going to run over and stab you?”
Han Qinghua’s face flushed with a trace of guilt as he then said stubbornly, “It’s broad daylight and you’re even in the house, so what could I do to you? As for you stabbing me with a needle without saying a word? If it was stabbed in the neck, wouldn’t I be dead?”
“Back off and get out, now!” Lin Lan said harshly.
“I have changed and I have apologised to you, what else do you want from me? Will you never forgive me for the rest of your life?” He stared at her angrily. He then remembered something, scratched his head and said helplessly, “Sister-in-law, I really have no ill intentions. I have really changed, please forgive me.”
Lin Lan replied coldly, “You don’t have to pretend— you know best whether or not you harbour any ill intentions. Even if you didn’t mean to do anything to me, don’t you understand how to avoid suspicion? Get out immediately.”
Turn over a new leaf? If the evil was rooted in his being, then there was no way he could change.
