Strict Wife Of The ’70s Manages The Household - Chapter 968
Dawang ate while dipping his food into the sauce. In fact, he didn’t seem satisfied until he picked up the sauce bowl and had a gulp of the sauce like it was soup. Looking at his Eldest Brother enjoying the spice, Xiaowang could almost feel his own tongue tingling from the spice. With how spicy the chilies were, Dawang didn’t seem to be fazed in the slightest— Eldest Brother was really too amazing!
Sanwang suddenly had an idea, “I wonder what it tastes like with garlic paste.”
Maisui quickly said, “Don’t eat it with garlic paste, it’s not like we’re having dumplings.”
Sanwang held up a large zongzi and laughed, “Look, isn’t this just a different dumpling for the Dragon Boat Festival?”
Maisui smiled and patted him, “You naughty child; if you have the ability to do it, go ahead and eat it with the chili sauce then!”
Sanwang immediately picked up a pickled pepper and handed it to Xiaowang whilst grinning, “Brother Xiaowang, it’s not spicy at all. You should try it, it’s sweet.”
Xiaowang’s eyes suddenly widened and he shook his head as if was being rattled, “Take it away, take it away, I don’t want it! Chili is not friendly, you’re too unkind!”
Sanwang began to vividly recount the funny story of that one time they ate chili.
Back then, the children’s mother had brought back a few fresh chili peppers and washed them on the table.
Their eldest brother picked one of them up, put it in his mouth, chewed it, and swallowed it.
Erwang asked, “Eldest Brother, is it spicy?”
Dawang shook his head, “No, it’s not spicy.”
Erwang also took one and tasted it before he put it back.
Sanwang asked, “Brother, is it spicy?”
Erwang smiled, “It’s not spicy, I think it’s pretty sweet.”
Sanwang picked up one decisively and took a big bite boldly…until he bared his teeth and glared at his older sibling.
Xiaowang asked curiously, “Third Brother, what does it taste like?”
Sanwang glared and continued to chew before he stretched his neck and swallowed it, “It’s delicious!”
Xiaowang was very curious, so he picked it up and chewed it as if he was eating a cucumber. At first, he truly didn’t feel anything. It was juicy and somewhat sweet… But in a few seconds…
Oh my god!!! It’s so spicy! The tip of his tongue became numb as tears flowed uncontrollably.
“It’s too spicy, the pepper is too spicy…You’re so mean…”
Sanwang then stretched out his tongue and fanned himself while breathing out. It was so, so spicy… They had only heard about chili peppers on the radio before, but they never experienced it. But now, they knew of its taste personally.
Although everyone already knew of the story, they still laughed after hearing Sanwang’s recollection of the incident.
Although the wheat harvest did not take long, the labor intensity was rather high. Han Qingsong and the children did not let Lin Lan work in the fields, so she thought about how to change the ways to nourish the family instead. For physical work, breakfast was more important to their strength. Lin Lan wanted to have a richer breakfast instead of just making porridge or steamed cakes all day long.
She looked for two idle small stone mills in the brigade field. She found that these small mills were not used to grind grains, but were optimal for grinding soy milk on a daily basis. Grinding some soy milk in the morning could not only make them soy milk to drink, but also make tofu pudding. During the busy farming season, the brigade would also grind up some tofu to improve the selection of food they had. Since the brine was prepared, she could just order it.
