Strict Wife Of The ’70s Manages The Household - Chapter 978
But Sanwang seemed to be envious of the fact that it was easier to wear and take off.
Lin Lan, “…Little Third Brother, why was I unaware of your excessive laziness? Just buttoning a button makes you tired?” You know what’s tiring? Jumping around all day, digging up birds’ nests and rolling around.
“Mother, how can you say that about something as important as convenience? This saves time.” Sanwang argued.
Lin Lan smiled, “Okay then, vests are easier for me to make anyways.”
Her initial thought process was that children should wear vests, but once they got older they should dress a little more properly. But since he enjoys it then it saves her trouble anyway.
At any rate, Lin Lan did not confine them in the house either. Since they finally had a day off, she allowed the kids to go out and play.
She also encouraged Dawang to take his younger siblings out to play and not to stay at home. She felt that Dawang really began to enter his puberty phase, becoming more quiet and silent with every passing day and never really talked. When he was not in class, he would head to work and earn points or went to mow the grass. And when he had free time, he either practiced slingshots or dabbled in some other things. He also learned a bit of military-style boxing from Han Qingsong. Lin Lan had seen them fight vigorously and thought that it was very intensive.
However, Lin Lan found that although he was silent and his expression seemed serious, his eyes actually appeared softer than they were before, so she wasn’t really worried. As long as the child was not lonely and introverted, everything else was fine. Above all, everyone had their own personalities in the end.
Erwang didn’t know when he enjoyed following Han Yongfang around, helping him calculate the brigade’s accounts or giving the elder man ideas. Although he was young, Erwang had a quick mind that could come up with good ideas to help solve problems, which made Han Yongfang praise him repeatedly. Han Yongfang even said to him, “Child, study hard. If you are not allowed to go to college or work in the city after graduating from the company, grandpa will recommend you to be a cadre in the commune.”
Brigade Leader, see? The rumour that our Secretary Head doesn’t offer praises is a lie; those people just never had enough skills to be praised. The people that he commends are indeed different!
Sanwang naturally didn’t remain idle either. He brought Xiaowang along to cut grass, swim and catch some fish. By noon, he wandered around, eager to catch cicadas. Now that he had learned the true teachings of his Eldest Brother, he was capable of attaining victory without Dawang’s help.
Maisui sometimes went out to play with the other girls, but she spent most of her time at home reading books or helping Lin Lan with some form of work.
Today, she remained at home to help Lin Lan with clothes-making.
Lin Lan brought out all the fabrics, some of which she had saved, some of which Lin Mei had given her, and others part of Han Qingsong’s older clothes.
Han Qingsong wore uniforms all the time. Other than his underwear that were made at home, his clothing was distributed by the county throughout all the seasons. Lin Lan didn’t give away those clothes. After all, there were only two sets of clothes he could change into, which were worn daily, and they were soaked with every fibre of his being, so she didn’t want to give them to others. Though, leaving the piles of clothes at home long-term wasn’t a good idea since Dawang still wasn’t big enough to fit into them.
