[O ye who dwell in a world forsaken by God, where evolution is stagnant and gradual catastrophe is in the offing!]

A mysterious voice unexpectedly resonated within my head as I wandered around the campus grounds.

Nonetheless, as I peered around, all I noticed was the same university I was used to.

In any event, I occupied the nearest seat in the cafeteria lest I be perceived as suspicious.

[I am the one who crosses from world to world.]

I scanned the faces of others around me while seated, but none of them exhibited any signs of astonishment or disorientation.

Perhaps it was an indication that I was the only one who could hear this voice (or that the others simply didn’t display it on their faces the way I did).

[The one that brings transformation to the stagnant world.]

Nevertheless, it seemed that the world we were residing in was forsaken by God at some point.

Certainly, it was true that no new technology has been developed in the past few decades, and the issues of food supply and war had spiraled out of control, but I still believed that God was irresponsible in abandoning the world.

[Ah, yes. You know what, phrasing things in such a distinguished manner is a headache. Therefore, I’m going to take it easy from this point on. There’s barely a soul out there who can hear this voice anyway.]

Heyyyyyyyyyyy!

You are being light-hearted all at once! Furthermore, the voice that was previously a mystical voice of indeterminable gender and age was rapidly replaced by the voice of a little girl!

As I rose from my seat, the people around me began to cast quizzical glances at me.

I returned to my seat quietly, feigning concern for my buttocks.

[Well, for that reason, let’s save this world. And in order to advance my research, I’m going to do a minor intervention in this world.]

What are you planning to do…? More importantly, I have a very unpleasant feeling about this.

[Anyway, those of you who are hearing this voice right now. Yeah, you guys.]

After all, those glances that were directed at me implied, “What the hell is he doing?”. I headed to an empty classroom at the university. If there was an opportunity, I would pay back the owner of the little girl’s voice in one way or another for this incident.

Was everyone still taken aback or something? Compared to those who were being mentioned now, I was in much better shape. After all, the individuals in my immediate vicinity merely shot me doubtful stares.

The author’s note is actually written on the synopsis. I am simply including it in the prologue. What the author is saying is that he planned the MC of this novel to be a trash character, evil, or whatever negative terms you have in mind, he doesn’t have any heroic qualities nor does he has any character development so please refrain from making such comments. He is meant to be a character lacking in depth and is meant to be a trash character that is full of flaws. And he will stay that way until the end of the story without any changes. I will also not be accepting comments about such matters about his character too in respect for the author. In fact, the comments on the source (Syosetsu), there are no comments about his character (at least, I didn’t see any comments related to his character anyway). And I hope you will respect the author.

This is the first Outer World Story series of the author’s work. Below is a summary of what Outer World Story is.

This is a story that takes shape and is told within those myriad worlds, with the same origin.

?Each of these works can be read as a separate work, but they are all connected in some places, so if you have the opportunity, you may find it fascinating to look for the connections between them.

The author’s style tends to use non-linear storytelling/multiple timelines with multiple POV (this is extremely common in Japanese web novels by the way) so if you do not like that, please refrain from reading it cause I do not want to face another reviewer who criticizes the author’s style when this is actually a frequent occurrence in Japanese web novel yet they are ignorant of it and still condemn the author when the author is not at fault. This is simply unjust to the author. It’s even possible to write a third-person narrative in one paragraph and switch to first-person POV in the next sentence back and forth for those who are unaware of it (This is also a common thing in Japanese web novels). Though this is not part of Kurikishita’s (Author) style and I will choose one of them only to translate even if that happens.

And this is a series, not a stand-alone novel.
