“So this is the deep-sea… It’s pitch black.”
Beyond the gate was a world of death, where there was no presence of any living creature and unending darkness ruled everywhere save in the area illuminated by the lights.
Nonetheless, a structure in the distance emitted a blue glow, which could be seen. That was probably the “Palace of Abyss”.
“All of you! Let’s hurry up and move. Who knows what will swarm around us if we are not careful.”
Under Lady Ryo’s direction, we hastened towards the lights.
“! Something’s coming from 1 o’clock and 11 o’clock!”
“At 1 o’clock is a massive whale, and at 11 o’clock is a giant crab!”
After a while of running, when the blue stone ruin-like building of the “Palace of Abyss” came into view, Deborah sensed something approaching, and Chirito discovered the true identity of the opposition.
“Izumi, you will handle the whale! Ichiko, please take care of the giant crab! The rest of you will hurry up and move as fast as you can to the interior of the ‘Palace of Abyss’!”
With that, Lady Ryo’s instructions were issued, and all members began to act accordingly.
Lady Ryo and the others rushed towards the “Palace of Abyss,” with Deborah in the lead, while Izumi and I left the group.
A Japanese spider crab-like monster loomed in front of me. Though, its size was probably more than 10 meters in height.
The right-hand pincer of the huge crab was aimed towards me.
However, I teleported to evade it, and as a counterattack, I generated a sword with a thin edge which I thrust into the joint and severed it.
While shedding blood from its right hand, the giant crab started foaming at the mouth out of a fit of rage, and then abruptly launched a water projectile as if it were a shotgun.
Even so, I escaped it by moving out of its range in continuous teleportation, and the several bullets that were still incoming towards me were deflected by shifting the shape of my sword to two wakizashi, accentuating its intensity.
“This is the end for you.”
After the onslaught had stopped, I then approached it at once. Piercing and wrenching the swords into the joints, I first sheared off all the legs, followed by impaling it through the mouth with a rapier to penetrate its entire body as a finishing blow.
Eventually, the giant crab convulsed several times before ceasing to move.
“Now, I must hurry and rejoin the group.”
Once I had regenerated the sword I used, I headed for the “Palace of the Abyss”.
A massive whale was approaching me with what resembled octopus tentacles protruding from its large mouth.
Grasping the accessories on my waist and pendant, I activated ≪Pack of Wolf Carrying Life and Death≫, transforming the accessories into wolves and releasing them.
All 13 of these wolves were a part of me, and their combat performance was adequate enough to fight even against Ichiko. Furthermore, regardless matter how many times the wolves were to be killed, they can be regenerated as long as my main body was alive.
Therefore, even if they were crushed under water pressure, they can regenerate and operate for a few seconds even in the deep sea.
The giant whale, aided by the deep sea’s water pressure, enmeshed and squashed the wolves who had darted out into the deep sea with its tentacles. However, during the time it took for the wolves to be pulverized, the wolves sank their fangs into the giant whale’s body, slowly but steadily eroding its vitality.
“≪Bio Weapon Creation・Axe≫, ≪Bio Weapon Enhancement・Blood≫, ≪Bio Weapon Enhancement・Flesh≫.”
While the wolves were striving, I transformed my entire right arm into an axe.
The axe’s sharpness was substantially enhanced by engraving a vivid scarlet pattern on the huge, thick blade, and the axe was rendered more ominous and formidable by being ornamented with flesh.
After annihilating all the wolves, the massive whale swiftly launched its tentacles, which had been decreased in number, towards me with tremendous ferocity.
“It’s too late.”
But after applying ≪Strength Enhancement≫, I swung the axe to its side, leveraging the spring of its entire body.
The combination of the Demon King’s astounding physical strength and the axe’s elevated potency allowed me to execute the most devastating strike possible. From the tip of the tentacles to the tip of the tail, the massive whale was split in half in one stroke.
“Now, I should catch up with them.”
I sped to the “Palace of Abyss” atop one of the wolves’ backs after re-creating the wolves.
“Here is the ‘Palace of Abyss’…”
We had reached the entrance of the “Palace of Abyss”.
Even at the darkest depths of the ocean, the “Palace of Abyss,” including its blue light, had a distinctive atmosphere.
Several dozens of Hanryojin who were defending the entrance had been reduced to motionless corpses, though there was nothing noteworthy to be mentioned about them. The attack started with Mugi’s long-range volley (even in the water, the fuel of magic power allows for a less powerful yet still effective shot), followed by Yuu, Deborah, and Chirito, charging in and finishing them off after being reinforced by Une.
Even if a monster slipped through to the rear guard, Une would solidify them with ≪Sugar Binding Honey≫ and Hachi would pierce them with ≪Woodbolt≫, effectively ending their lives.
“Judging by the security at the entrance, it seems that even the Octopus King is somewhat wary of us,” Mugi said while searching for some usable materials from the Hanryojin’s corpse.
“That seems to be the case. Ryo-san, let’s head to the inner part of the building as soon as possible,” Yuu advised as he kept a watchful eye on the surroundings.
Ichiko and Izumi seemed to be still in the midst of a battle.
“I get your meaning. Those two should be able to catch up with us in no time, so let’s move ahead in formation.”
After falling into formation, we entered the “Palace of Abyss”.
