The first step is to create a labyrinth.

“Now, shall I get on with it, ?Dungeon Create?!”
A translucent screen and what resembled a computer keyboard materialized in front of my eyes as I declared the skill activated. I assumed that this would be used for directing the maintenance in the dungeon.
The screen was presently projecting a bird’s-eye view of the overall dungeon, which mirrored my memory of the layout of the buildings and the location of the river when I was still a human.
“Let me confirm the screen and functions for now.”
I operated the keyboard to access various data essential for dungeon maintenance while simultaneously consulting Help-kun for anything unclear.
After an hour of research, here was what I had discovered.
?The ?Dungeon Create? function allows the structure and details of the labyrinth to be modified. Traps can be installed in the labyrinth.
?When using the ?Dungeon Create? function, HP, MP, and SP are consumed correspondingly.
?The amount of HP, MP, and SP consumed varies depending on the status and skills of the Demon King.
?The consumed HP, MP, and SP are normally recovered over time, hence posing no problem.
?If there is no human being in the labyrinth, the process will be finished immediately after the execution of the order.
?The labyrinth must be constructed with at least one entrance and exit.
?The number of people who can enter the labyrinth is also adjusted here.
?The level of the labyrinth = the level of the Demon King.
?As the level of the labyrinth progresses, more layers can be added, and more complex structures can be erected, as well as more formidable traps.
?Each level of the labyrinth must have one resting spot.
“Yes. It’s very easy to understand. Well, I should get started.”
Operating the keyboard, I set the entrance and exit to the south for the time being. Due to the presence of barriers, I supposed I would refer to them as prospective entries or exits.
This consumed 10 each of HP, MP, and SP.
Following this, I wished to demolish all the roads and pavements that were in the way of my dungeon plan… but since doing so would have cost me about 5000 HP and SP each, I simply reduced them to the size of stones and rocks. This expended 1,000 HP and SP each.
By the way, “removal” was a command to thoroughly obliterate the object as if it had never existed, which came at a greater price than pulverizing it.
Leaving that aside, I proceeded with the process. All of the ground in the dungeon had been turned into a swamp (Depth? About 10cm). This required 500 SP and MP each.
Finally, a thin mist was cast over the entire dungeon (approximately 10m ahead, unnoticeable). This used up to around 1000 MP.
What an unexpected turn of events. There was a university, a residential area, and a tranquil countryside when I was a human, but it had now been remodeled into an eerie dungeon where the ground was muddy and the only decent footing was on top of the buildings with a constant mist hanging over the place.
I would like to play a song by ??, but I won’t as this was only the initial stage of the dungeon renovation. (Incidentally, ?Dungeon Create? also incorporated an item to play a specific song throughout the dungeon, so it was really possible to play it. The HP, MP, and SP consumption for each song should be consulted)
For now, I was going to take a temporary break since the current remaining HP, MP, and SP of mine were as followed:
HP: 590/1600
MP: 340/1850
SP: 240/1750
Since the depth of the swamp and the mist may be upgraded by consumption of additional MP, my current plan would be to upgrade them after a round of maintenance.
“But well, I really appreciate the one-year preparation period. Otherwise, if the dungeon had been opened from the beginning, I could have been forced to confront the invaders with this worn-out situation before even finishing the dungeon’s maintenance. Truthfully, such a state of affairs is inconceivable.”
I took a break after murmuring to myself and reviewed the buildings that might be constructed in ?Dungeon Create? and when I found one that matched my requirements, I bookmarked it so that I could readily retrieve it.
After properly inspecting all of them, I started to take a nap for an efficient recovery.
Furthermore, as a result of my metamorphosis into a Demon King, I only needed magic power in the air to survive; therefore, meals and sleep had become redundant for me to go through my daily routine, and they now served just as a preference or a method to efficiently restore my HP, etc.
“Well, after I finish my nap, I’ll try working on ?Monster Create?.”
Then I began to quietly drift off to sleep.
