We also don’t know how what regular level movement magic can do. Regular level healing magic could “only” heal wounds which is pretty impressive.
It could be that the difference between Razé and the other students is less “person who can teleport vs. people who can’t” and more “person with a car vs. people who don’t in a city with excellent public transportation.”

Also it looks cool and is famous for being used by high class. It requires two hands, so it can’t be used with a shield, but with heavy armour, a shield is often considered unnecessary.

Kinda rubs me the wrong way honestly. The best tournament fighters historically don’t act like it’s an RPG and spend all their skill points “specializing” in a weapon. That is, they’re prize-winning fighters because they are generally good with horseback lance, poleaxe, grappling, dagger, sword, running in armor, etcetera.
Maybe specialization might be true for itinerant fencers or hobbyists, but the character we’re talking about has a military education and has had it since a young age. It really is about general athletic ability. “Fencing” in some context broadly referred to *all* combat sportslike activities, not just “swordsmanship.” This includes wrestling. And some “curriculums” stressed broader educations to further develop agility (e.g. dancing, swimming, etcetera). Never mind other vital skills like being able to ride horses.
And honestly, he could probably suck ass with swords all day but be an impeccable horseman and be respected for it.
It really is about different tools for different contexts. Swords were wearable, so having one in addition to a pollaxe, spear or lance was very very common. And then having a dagger on top of that to boot.
Part of the reason pollaxes were historically associated with particularly moneyed or elite soldiers is because pollaxes don’t really scale well in numbers the way pikes, spears or shields do. But were great if you had space to work, had armor and *specifically* needed to counter a person like yourself.
But with armor comes the real possibility that you lose your polearm or become unhorsed, hence why swords and daggers were common accoutrements, even with the poorer or lower class soldiers.
It’s kinda weird to tell a kid that his real talent is with the polearm, like he’s expected to pick a woman to marry for life. Until death do them part. As a knight he’s probably expected to have a broad set of skills because swords are relatively social sidearms and using a lance is probably an expectation if you’re the cavalry, etcetera. (And then being unhorsed means you’ll probably reach for a sword or dagger anyway.)
You’re not a D&D character. A knight was a military man called to serve in a time of war. What you do kind of has to fit into the overall disposition of your army. You’re not some snowflake who is the “knife guy” or the “nunchaku guy” because you have a character build.
Like, sure, I can well believe that some people were just better with a sword than others, but that’s like pointing out that some Marines are just a better marksman than the next. It’s not the entire defining quality of a soldier.
Being a good swordsman makes you a good technician in an extremely specific subject. That’s it.
And this is even truer of a “Knight Captain,” who, you guess it, is not just a jarhead grunt. He’s an officer. I probably should point out that this is partly an administrative and political position.

Honestly; giving a taser is a gift that does show that someone’s cares a lot about your wellbeing as strange as it may be! They’ve already shown their ability to use forbidden magics as well as a strong resourcefulness… It wouldn’t be impossible to manipulate some memories or perhaps edit the journal. I’m hesitant to lean on either since the Miko seems far to arrogant to believe anyone else could have reincarnated; she seems like the typical “I reincarnated so I’m the one who matters” type. Why would they need to manipulate anyone’s memories or look into her Carna’s notebook which is owned by Raze now? This isn’t even talking about the plausibility of sneaking directly under Raze’s nose.
We’ll find out I’m sure shortly though – if we don’t get a scene of her trashing a room in anger at ‘being the special one not that commoner’ I think it’s unlikely the Miko has interacted with Carna’s prophecies – wouldn’t make sense not to include it here in terms of story writing.

Instead Adis just walks up to her and asks her point blank and Raze just answers that it got called off and then confesses that it was part of a plan to help Carna. No melodrama and it sorta looking like Raze might get closer to Adis.

the problem i have with that is that she has shown in class that she can do pinpoint teleportation back to her seat without any of them realising at all. and she has shown the capability of teleporting long range without any assistance and with pin point accuracy to another city already. I think it’d have to be one of the teachers since a student wouldn’t have enough influence to be in any sort of position to do anything spy-like or do anything to try to enforce the plot. Only question is which teacher could it be? The only one who I remember interacting with the main cast is the teacher of Raze’s class who studies monsters.
Anyways I don’t understand the miko’s thought process. She’s trying to make the plot of the otome game come true but if it does then Folia would end up with Ruben following the plot but she’s the one obsessed with Ruben. It would’ve made sense if she was following the plot with her taking Folia’s place but she’s not even in the same country let alone the school. How exactly was she planning to usurp the position of main heroine then?

Well I mean the world is based on an otome game and Raze is attending the location setting of the game. By it’s nature there’s gonna be mostly fighting tournaments and school festivals were flags can be raised with the capture targets. Raze learned that there’s still apparently a sequel to the game with Adis as the main character which would have to be after they graduate so there shouldn’t be any more tournaments and school festival which should let the characters do more varied things and build the world more. Unless the sequel is about everyone going to college…

I know. But I can’t help but feel like it’s sorta similar to anime like Demon Slayer where the story is on a very rigid 1D path. In Demon Slayer’s case, it was straight up fighting against Muzan and his Demons. We don’t get to see more about the world apart from the Demon Slayer Corps.

At this point, I just want the novel to STAY AWAY from school life a little bit, and explain more about maybe magic and the general Kingdom/continent structure a little bit. I do hope the direction of this one isn’t going to be another Bakarina that purely focuses on school life.
But maybe that’s just me though. I’ve been reading other similar otome game novels that actually DO some form of world building, so now I want some more life into this one too.

Where in Demon Slayer’s case, the manga ended up being too centered around fights against Demon Slayer Corps and Demons/Muzan. There was essentially no life in society shown apart from that. But maybe that’s just me. After reading several otome isekai novels like Outaishihi ni Nante Naritakunai!, that actually focused on world building (i.e. explaining magic systems, outlining general continent structure, showing people’s everyday lives, etc), I now expect all “good” fantasy novels to do the same. This novel is good in a sense how compared to Bakarina some characters are aware that the future “could” be different from the pre-determined otome game, but I don’t want the story to be too centered around the otome game purely.
I’ve read hardcore “omfg I’m this bad character from the game, I’m going to die!” type before, where some protagonists wind up being depressed or completely obsessed over the bad endings of the game or the game in general. And all I can say is, umm character? You DO realize that the future can be DIFFERENT? Don’t completely rely on the otome game’s settings for EVERYTHING? Where once you die here, you die for real as well? Hah?
I don’t know where my thought process is at this point, but yeah. Less repetition of school events, I’d just like to see some form of world building at this point to make this story less 1D.

This chapter IMO pretty well highlights why Adis and Razé just don’t suit. Ultimately he’s a sheltered teenager, while her dual life experiences make her mentally at least a generation older and two generations wiser/more experienced than he is.
…Well, as a transmigrator, the same will be true to some extent of anyone her physical age (so hopefully she’ll just avoid all romantic entanglements during her high school years). But with Adis it’s particularly off-putting that she’s known his parents for years, and she’s more like a peer of theirs than of his.

Most people are saying Adis can’t be faulted for his lack of tact, but please don’t forget his character settings. He’s supposed to be the character that’s good at getting along with girls and townsfolk, so he would have a high ability to read social cues and determine what can and can’t be said. It’s even mentioned at the end of the chapter that if it were an aristocrat lady, he would have been more careful. Not knowing doesn’t give a person a free ticket to being tactless.

I don’t think she’s a reincarnator though. If she was then she would have recognized that Carna is one too since only reincarnators would know about the concept of school festivals and Avro would have immediately contacted Magenda to tell them about it which she doesn’t seem to have. Well that was anticlimactic. Magenda must have expected massive casualties to take place before they eventually put down the kaiju. Instead Raze stopped it like 3 minutes after it appeared and Folia cured Olusanya so they didn’t even need to kill it. Also the wounds people got were light and probably amounted only to some scrapes.
Probably the art teacher disappeared because Raze assassinated her. Meanwhile Raze’s disappearance is either because she feels guilty about letting her friends see her like that or maybe she just got put on an assignment to finally kill everyone from Magenda who’ve been scheming against her country and it’s just taking a while to eliminate everyone.

I mean with the king dead there will obviously be a fight for succession but you’ve also forgot the clear descent from the people so it may give a chance for an uprising – at the very least a few territories will likely claim for independence or undergo reforms. Even if succession goes quickly (which is unlikely) it likely wouldn’t be easy to unite the country once more. As for attacking Razes nation? They will be too busy trying to deal with the guerrilla groups that would’ve formed when their eye was on succession instead; that is unless the nation changes to accept these groups ideas which I think we can agree is unlikely without full blown revolution… Though actually there is one more way which would weaken them perhaps in long run (lotta rebel sects) but retain enough power in the immediate to still be a threat…

Well they didn’t specifically say that Victor died. Just that the black wound eroded his body and he isn’t expected to wake up. I bet after everything is over, Folia will purify his wounds and heal him along with all the others in the same condition.
So Magenda really is done for. A coup is already about to be launched. The king and miko may end up killed without Raze ever even encountering them. At best maybe the miko will be shown briefly ranting about how unfair it is and she should be the protagonist before some nameless soldier kills her as Raze walks by all confused about who she is.
On another note I kinda feel like after this is over, her boss Welrian will order her to attend the academy with the name of Raze Granoli Orphan to finish the year and graduate. Or maybe have her be a new teacher there.

I’m sad that the story is over but there’s at least two after story chapters.
I guess Welrian and Adis were able to get Raze promoted to the principal of the academy. Welrian always did feel guilty of sending Raze into dangerous situations and basically never get to experience a normal life while Adis is in love with her and wants to protect her. They probably were able to use their influence to make her the principal and fulfill both of their goals. As a principal she’ll get to have a normal life and she won’t have to be sent on dangerous missions.
Anyways it does look like Adis and Raze are together or are at least close enough that it would only need one event to get them to hook up. I mean it said that Adis is always by her side and Raze easily accepts holding his hand.
I was kind of hoping that they would clarify what happened with Dreis and Fervor. First we hear students gossiping that he went to negotiate with her parents so they can get engaged but then we hear more gossip saying Dreis broke an engagement right before the kaiju attack and we never get any more clarification. Maybe one of the extra chapters can hopefully clarify.
Also I hope that if Raze and Adis aren’t together yet then maybe one of the extra chapters will be about the Adis sequel to the otome game with Raze as the main love interest.

They were two upperclassmen that appeared infrequently with two others who all had these competitive relationships with each other and everyone would just roll their eyes and think they should just start dating already. Anyways Fervor wanted to be an adventurer or knight but her parents wanted her to marry a noble instead so they came to a compromise where if she could get at least I think third(?) place in the fighting tournament then they would let her do what she wanted and she would instead marry a noble they picked out for her if she couldn’t get the required place. She didn’t place high enough and Dreis who’s she’s always had a competitive relationship heard about her agreement with her parents and asked her if she would be okay if she married a noble that would let her do what she wanted before resolving himself when she said yes.

Oh so looks like the angry mob had enough self control not to kill the miko and she was arrested instead. I kinda wish she had died though. She was a literal no name whose only interaction with the MC happened offscreen. She was selfish and delusional. Her being killed would have been a fitting punishment.
Enough about that. I’m sad that there wasn’t a more concrete AdisXRaze conclusion. Or at least some manner of plot teasing like the story ending and Raze chilling while imaging the end credits rolling only for Adis to show up and mention something to Raze that she later finds out is a reenactment of the opening of the Adis sequel game just with her taking the place of the main love interest. Kinda like how Raze ended up taking most of the main character’s events from the first game instead of Folia.
Also I’m still disappointed that there really is no clarification about what happened to Dreis and Fervor. I guess I’ll just have to satisfy myself with the headcanon that when there were students gossiping about Dreis breaking an engagement that Carna had overhead that instead of it being Dreis breaking his engagement to Fervor but rather it was Dreis negotiating with Fervor’s parents to break the engagement they were going to set up for their daughter so he can get engaged to her instead. I guess I’ll also headcanon that their two friends also ended up together since it already seemed that way anyways.
