The First Interstellar Energy Gambler - Chapter 0

===========Translator’s Note===========
Some of the terms in this novel may translate awkwardly or different then what you are used to seeing associated with jade not only due to the fact that jade betting is pretty much nonexistent in the western world, but also because the west isn’t really big on jade in general and a lot of terms differentiating type of jade just aren’t common or may not translate. anything not directly cited from a chapter below is likely pulled from a translated Chinese site. Everything below is non-fiction. Additionally, this may be updated as translation continues.
===========Jadeite Guide===========
Mountain Stone Jadeite refers to the jadeite excavated directly from mountain veins.
Water Stone Jadeite refers to the rough jadeite formed after the mountain jadeite is weathered and transported by river water. Due to the long-distance river transportation, the loose parts have been eroded away, leaving only the relatively hard and dense parts. Coupled with long-term water immersion, its texture is finer and the color is better and it often results in higher quality jade.
Half-Mountain Half-Water Stone Jadeite refers to the jadeite between mountain and water jadeite. Formed when mountain rocks are washed away due to landslides, the rivers where these are formed are generally not as deep and the rocks are not carried as far as with water stone jadeite giving these rocks the characteristics of both mountain and water jadeite.
===========Jade Guide===========
The terms texture/pattern/variant are used in translation as the general term for the transparency of jadeite, and it is also the manifestation of the crystal structure and texture of jadeite.
This book references the following types:
Glass jade is as transparent as glass . You can imagine using glass as a window to clearly appreciate the scenery outside. It has fine structure, strong toughness, and can be colored or colorless.
Ice jade is as transparent as ice, so there may be a small amount of cracks or other impure substances, and the interior generally has obvious white cotton-like opacity.
Glutinous jade is like a bowl of glutinous rice soup, it looks sticky and not very transparent. (ch.12: glutinous jade is clean and delicate, which means that the energy contained in it is mellow and gentle. Such jadeite is more convenient for energy engineers to extract, not to mention the extracted energy liquid has higher purity and greater overall value.)
Bean jade is named after the bean-like crystals inside , which can be seen with the naked eye. Because of the rough grains of bean jadeite, the luster and transparency of jadeite are often poor, and it is generally called dry water by the jadeite community.
Oily jade is a more opaque jade that has an oily luster and is common on the market.
Other Variants:
Hibiscus jade has a bit of hibiscus feel. The emerald green of the hibiscus species is light, soft, clear, and pure. The hibiscus species has a slightly pink base, and there may be different sub-types depending on if it has additional green or blue veins in it. The texture of hibiscus jadeite is finer than that of bean jade, and the structure is slightly grainy, but the boundaries of the grains cannot be seen. Its transparency is comparable to ice jade. (ch 3: The energy distribution contained in this jade is very even and it is more convenient to refine. It is a very popular one on the market.)
Egg white jade gives people a visual sense similar to egg white. It is cloudier than glass jade and less translucent.
Golden silk jade is a jade variety with good texture and color, and it is a medium-to-high-end variety. The characteristic is that the green is in the form of filaments, ribs, or even strips arranged in parallel.
