Chapter 161 – Foxtrot
“Hey?, looks like it finally started.”
“What is?”
In the hallway leading back to the meeting room they were just in, Mika suddenly blurted out of the blue.
Naturally, Himari, who was standing next to her, questioned her.
“Apparently it’s that guy’s execution?”
“What?!”
Shinku, who was listening to the two, turned her head towards them with a grim expression on her face.
“What do you mean by that?”
“Look, there’s a livestream up.”
What was displayed in front of Shinku was the courtyard of the school building, which was usually deserted.
The live video feed, which was shot fifteen meters above the ground, displayed Haruka’s image.
His hair, which was bright as the sun, swayed frantically in the center of the screen.
Numerous men, so many that it was difficult to grasp their numbers at a glance, were working together in order to eliminate Haruka through sheer numbers.
“… Haruka-san.”
Seeing Haruka in a predicament because of her, Shinku’s expression paled.
Unable to stand still any longer, Shinku started running without hesitation.
Himari and Mika followed her. Himari looked anxious while Mika had a cheerful smile on her face.
Shun stared blankly at the back of the three girls moving away from him. After a short pause, he came back to his senses and immediately followed suit.
?
“What is this? What’s going on…?”
“Who knows? Something happened, perhaps?”
Ruriko asked Sayaka, who was next to her, as she watches the other students running about.
Of course, there was no way for Sayaka to know.
Just out of curiousity, the two were lured by the commotion.
The school buildings that surrounded the courtyard were overflowing with a crowd.
“That’s good?! Get him!”
“Hurry, surround and pin him down!”
“Capture him, you slowpokes!”
Several boys shouted and spatted as they watched over the courtyard.
What kind of crass behavior are they showing. This was supposed to be a top-ranked high school.
Sayaka opened the window in a vacant spot and peered down on the courtyard.
“Hang on, isn’t that Obi down there?!”
“What in the world is he doing?!”
The two were shocked in surprise as they saw the scene in the courtyard.
The underclassman from their drama club was surrounded by a group of men.
“We have to stop them! We have a play to perform the day after tomorrow!”
“Even if you say that, I don’t think there’s a way…”
The two could only watch.
They couldn’t think of a way for them to stop the bloodthirsty group of men.
From the school buildings surrounding the courtyard, onlookers who heard about the commotion began to shout in anger one after another.
Their voices only fed the men with vigor as they gain momentum.
It was clear to see that there was no one but enemies that surrounded Haruka.
What did he even do? It was true that there were rumors about Haruka’s relationships with women that had reached Ruriko and the other upperclassmen. But still, was it really enough of a reason to resent him so much?
“This is just, too horrible…”
“Obi! We have a play the day after tomorrow! Get the hell out of there!”
Ruriko could only mutter sadly, meanwhile Sayaka raised her voice to match the loud shouts around her.
“For now, let’s call a teacher…”
Ruriko kept her calm and reported to a teacher about the ongoing attempt of an execution.
All she could hope for is that a teacher would come soon and put a stop to it.
That difference in strength is that of one against several of tens.
Even though there was nothing Haruka could do about him being outnumbered, he quickly moved out of the way before he was surrounded. Even if he was grabbed, he would immediately pull away and somehow manage to escape their encirclement.
It seemed like Haruka was running away, but he was not. Every time he saw an opening, he would retaliate with a kick among those who weren’t paying attention.
Some of the men became more enraged after taking damage, others had lost their will to fight. Among severe cases, some of them fainted after taking just a single blow.
Cornered against a wall, Haruka would jump up over the heads of the men and attack those in the rear guard.
Half-hearted brawls that delinquents typically partake in won’t reduce their numbers.
Hoping to make sure that they all lose their will to fight, Haruka mercilessly fired sharp kicks on their heads. Haruka’s kicks was definitely strong enough to kill.
At point blank range, Haruka mercilessly struck the exposed throat of one man with a knife-like hand chop. In one fluid motion, he thrusted his hand into the stomach of the man next to him. Both men clutched their throat and stomach, vomitting all the while. Seeing that, the surrounding men were visibly shaking.
“That right there is your Papa. Take a good look.”
“SoOR, that person over there is your Father.”
An incomprehensible conversation reached the ears of Ruriko and Sayaka. Startled, they turned their gazes towards the source of the voices.
It was 1/1E7 and LCE, two international students who had transferred in the first year classes.
The two seemed to be talking with someone, but the contents of their conversation was baffling.
They were talking as if they were speaking to their children, but there was no way for them to have one since they had just transferred to the school.
Ruriko and Sayaka couldn’t help but shudder at the thought of who in the world were they referring to as the father of their children.
While the two got sidetracked, Haruka’s defiance continued.
No matter how much he was punched or kicked, he continued on with counterattacking with determination.
Even when confronted by a man with a bigger physique than him, he would swiftly break the man’s nose with a headbutt and incapacitated him with a palm strike to the chest.
Even when he was surrounded by five people at the same time, he would systematically sink them down one by one, breaking their formation.
In a blink of an eye, the number of Haruka’s enemies was dwindling down.
He was too strong.
That was the honest impression of Ruriko and Sayaka.
The onlookers began to lose their voices from seeing the gruesome scene.
The number of men, which had been close to twenty, had already been reduced to less than half. The ones on the floor were crawling in a pitiful manner.
With the reduced number of enemies, Haruka now had breathing room to spare. He returned to his disciplined, conventional movements, different from the unrestrained actions that he just showed earlier.
To Ruriko and Sayaka, what was supposed to be a lynching looked like a well rehearsed battle.
Haruka’s movements were beautiful, he retaliated against the bad guys one after another in a fast-paced manner, just like in a drama with good and evil characters.
Seeing that, without exchanging words towards the other, both Ruriko and Sayaka envisioned Haruka becoming an actor and excelling in stage combat.
Since the number of opponents was now fewer, Haruka’s attack became more fierce, it didn’t take more than three minutes for the men to be completely defeated.
“Amazing…”
Ruriko couldn’t help but mutter inadvertently.
Haruka had triumphed and overcame the adversity.
A strange feeling welled up in Ruriko’s chest.
Sayaka too, felt relieved that her underclassman had somehow pulled through. For some reason, a proud expression could be seen on her face.
?
“Darn it.. It hurts~”
After managing to beat up more than a dozen men, Haruka grimaced at the pain that came as if he just remembered it.
The shouts of the onlookers leaning out of the windows sounded distant, while the moaning and groaning of the men lying on the ground seemed closer.
Haruka pulled a tooth stuck in the back of his hand and threw it away.
Feeling a strong sense of exhaustion that came the moment he felt that it was over, Haruka tried to leave the scene.
But then, the door in front of him suddenly slammed open. Akito had suddenly emerged from within it.
In surprise, Akito pushed Haruka away with all his might, leaving the latter bewildered.
Haruka took advantage of the momentum of the fall, as he somersaulted and landed back on his feet. Haruka’s sudden acrobatic movements elicited gasps from the crowd.
“I’m going to hurt you so much that you’ll never think of approaching Shinku ever again.”
“Is that so. I’d like to see you try.”
Some onlookers quickly pulled out and pointed their multi-devices at Haruka in the courtyard.
Unlike a Talisman’s recordings, multi-device recordings won’t get censored even without the subject’s permission.
There was no doubt that what was going to happen is going to be made public.
Haruka doesn’t want to show an embarrassing sight of him to his lovers even if it kills him.
So that even if he loses here, they will not forced to part ways from him.
But still, Haruka has his own pride to uphold.
He had an aversion in exposing his pathetic side.
Haruka slowly took his stance.
Akito grinned wickedly as he closed in on Haruka aggressively.
Akito’s fist, which was carrying momentum, swung down on the battered Haruka’s without mercy.
?
When Claudia Shinku arrived at the courtyard, the fight was already over.
Despite the wounds all over his body, Haruka had stood his ground until the end.
In front of him was Akito on his knees, heavily injured.
There were heaps of corpses scattered haphazardly on the ground.
The onlookers, who had witnessed the whole thing, had quieted down completely. The courtyard was eerily silent.
“Shinku, don’t come here!”
Akito, who was still kneeling on the ground, urges the worried Shinku to flee the courtyard.
But instead of heeding his words, Shinku started to run.
Seeing Shinku’s expression filled with worry and anxiety, Akito couldn’t help but feel a sense of unease.
“Don’t come here, Shinku!”
Akito screamed.
In this place filled with onlookers, it was inconceivable to think that Haruka would do something to Shinku. But even so, Akito wanted to keep her safe at a distance.
“Haruka-san!!”
In front of Akito’s eyes was Shinku, clinging on to Haruka in an embrace with tears streaming down her face.
“????Huh?”
Akito couldn’t comprehend what was happening in front of him.
