Chapter 70 – Long Days

“Did you check the course?”

“Yeah, I think so.”

The director asked Haruka, and he answered.

Haruka tied his shoelaces back on tightly, stood up, and looked at the buildings ahead.

Haruka is now on the roof of a building. It eight storeys high, the ground was far away.

From the starting point where he was standing now, it was his job to run to the goal that has been prepared for him.

Haruka is currently on an outdoor studio rented for filming, where the terrain and the number of floors of buildings can be manipulated to some extent.

Destroying the buildings was not allowed even if one applies for it.

“Okay, can you get into position?”

“Roger that.”

Haruka took his position and waited for the director’s signal.

“All right, action!”

A floating clapper clapped in the air, and floating cameras started recording.

At the same time, Haruka ran foward.

Without losing his momentum, he leaned his feet on the edge of the building and threw himself into the air with all his might.

He rolled and moved to the next building while shedding his power, and then got up and ran away without killing his momentum.

The buildings have complex shapes that would look good in an action scene, but since Haruka has been given a pre-designated course and has studied it beforehand, he continued on his way without hesitation.

Since the participants had requested for some techniques to be included if possible, he proceeded nimbly, using speed volt to jump over obstacles without losing momentum, and front flips that seemed to look somewhat impressive.

He kicked the wall, cat leapt to a side wall, and continue kicking the wall to go down one floor below.

The cat leap is followed by a stride, a side flip, and a roll as he steadily approached the goal.

If he lost his balance, it would not look good at all, so Haruka was careful when deciding on his moves.

As the studio was designed for action, there are many points where one can make a lot of flashy moves.

The scenery was designed to be as comfortable as possible, so it was exhilarating to run through the city.

Safety devices were activated so that even if they fall, the law of physics was rewritten to slow them down and allow them to decelerate and land safely.

Therefore, Haruka was able to jump with great confidence without feeling any fear.

After running around the city for about three minutes, Haruka finally reached the goal.

“Cut.”

The assistant director cuts the shot, and the camera stops.

He and one of the crew members begin to check what has been shot.

“Great job, Haruka!”

Yuuku ran up to him with a smile on her face.

“Do you want some water?”

“Yes. Thank you.”

Haruka took the bottle offered to him and poure it down his throat.

He felt uncomfortable returning the bottle to him, as if he was treating her like an errand girl, so he thought he would just keep it, but Yuuku asked him to return the bottle.

“Ehehe. Haruka was so cool while jumping around.”

“Is it really cool to be bouncing around like that…?”

If the shots of the action scenes are okay, this will be the last time Haruka will show up here.

He was going to remove the make-up to look like the actor later, and observe Yuuku’s performance.

As the two of them were reporting each other’s recent activities, one of the staff members came to them and said

“Obi-kun, they said the scene you just did is okay.”

“I’m glad to hear that. Thank you very much.”

He bowed his head slightly while thanking the staff amiably. The staff waved their hands in the air and left.

He was a bit apprehensive because it was his first time, but Haruka breathed a sigh of relief that he had made it through.

“I’m glad. You’re pretty great, Haruka.”

Yuuku was so happy as if she was the one being praised and couldn’t help but smile.

Realizing this, Yuuku’s cheeks blushed and her eyes swam.

“But I was surprised. They suddenly put me in charge of an action scene..”

Haruka had been called to the set by Yuuku as a stuntman.

“We could have hired someone from outside, but I thought of you because your height is similar to the stalker’s. I’m sorry for asking you out of the blue.”

“I was free, so it’s no problem at all.

I’m more surprised that you knew that I do parkour.”

Making a parkour video can improve one’s status, but learning it is not enough to be evaluated.

Haruka had saved replays, but he had not posted videos because he did not think they were good enough to show to others.

“Oh, yeah… Well…”

Yuuku had a habit of regularly opening Haruka’s profile and checking the apps he’s running during elementary school, so she found out that Haruka was running an app for parkour practice.

Yuuku showed the director the replay movie of parkour that she had received from Haruka three days ago, and thanks to the director’s judgment that the Haruka was good enough, Yuuku was able to invite him to this event.

“But doing actions scenes can be done in VR though?”

“It’s a rather popular field, you know? If you can’t use computer graphics, you can’t use VR either. So everyone tries to be creative and make it as interesting as possible.”

“That’s interesting.”

Yuuku was involved in this film, which was said to be a short, repetitive scene of a stalker who was obsessively chasing the heroine, and the heroine, who was stronger than expected, intercepts him or desperately escapes by parkour.

The action scene that Haruka just played seemed to be used together with the scene in which the heroine ran away on the ground.

And the heroine was played by Yuuku standing next to him

“Hey, Haruka…”

“What?”

“Wanna be an actor with me? Not in a movie, but in a play or something…”

Yuuku, who did not go to the same school as Haruka, desperately wanted to become friends with him now that they reunited.

“Well… Maybe we could try a play.”

Haruka, on the other hand, was also in a hurry because he felt that she might become a deadbeat if he didn’t start doing something serious soon.

The reason was that Haruka had seen Yuuku’s play before and was more or less intrigued by it.

“Joint practice!”

He smiled at Yuuku, who was desperately trying to get him to agree, as if she really wanted to have an actor friend.

They parted with smiles on their faces.

And then Haruka saw Yuuku performing proudly in front of the crowd of people.

It was a serious scene where Yuuku was cornered by a stalker, but her facial expression was so squishy that it was hard to keep it steady, resulting in many retakes of the scene.
