The Reincarnated Count’s Daughter Is the Strongest as She Is Loved by the Spirits, Though She Is Only Wishing for Regular Romance! - Chapter 10.1
Chapter 10 : Are You Actually a Worldly-wise Man ? (Extra Story)
Chris’ point of view.
On that day, I met her for the first time. She had just been born and was small in all parts, trying her best to catch Alan’s finger when he pecked her cheek. Her thin, fluffy hair was a beautiful golden color, and her large eyes were purple.
“Wow, you’re so cute. I hope we can play together soon.”
When I said that, she smiled happily. From that day on, Diadora became a precious princess to me and Alan. Whenever someone is powerful, all sorts of people approach them, hoping to take advantage of their power.
The more one cannot rise to the top on their own, the more they will resort to petty tricks. When my father became a margrave at a young age, they approached him, claiming they would be his support. Once they realized my father alone had the judgment and decision-making power to rule the territory, they then attempted to marry off their daughters.
Unfortunately, both my parents had a love marriage, and my mother is the daughter of a marquis, so her family background is perfect. She also has a good relationship with His Majesty Ephenia. Furthermore, she had borne two sons, so there was no worry about an heir. No one could dare to suggest taking a second wife.
Then, I became the next target. Adults who tried to bring their sons to befriend me appeared almost every day. I dislike children. They can’t sit still, and they can’t understand what I’m talking about. They repeat the same things over and over, and they believe their parents even if they are wrong.
If children were no good, some brought in slightly older young men to become my butlers or attendants, while there were also adults who tried to become my conversation partners themselves.
“You come to me so often, does that mean you don’t have any work to do ?”
I said coldly to those who repeatedly showed up, and I dismissed useless butlers and attendants. I didn’t need those who couldn’t give proper answers when asked by a child like me. There was no point in keeping someone who would laugh and evade, instead of simply looking up the answer if they didn’t know.
Alan, who is three years younger than me, was good at silently listening to the adults’ conversations, gathering information, and sharing it with me.
“Maybe it’s better to talk to our father about it ?”
“You’re the elder brother, so it’s better for you to talk to Father. I keep getting bothered by stupid people insisting that you’re more suitable as the heir, even though I’ve been saying that I want to join the Royal Guard. It’s such a hassle.”
Although he hates studying, he is quick-witted, and although he gets along well with children, he seems to have more fun practicing swordsmanship with adults.
“Surprisingly cunning, isn’t he ?”
“Huh ? I’ve been telling them to stop bothering me. Do they think I’ll agree if they keep saying it ?”
“Isn’t that about all they can do ?”
“Haa. People who can do their work properly won’t have enough free time to come to us.”
“Recently, it seems like there are a lot of people complaining to Father about the decrease in tourists visiting our territory.”
My father can manage the navy, border forces, and trade, but it seems like he’s not good at the tourism business. He laments that he doesn’t understand what women want.
“Why doesn’t he just ask Mother for help ?”
“Mother seems to be busy advising Her Majesty Ephenia… Oh, that’s Diadora.”
While I was talking to Alan on a bench in the garden, I spotted Diadora walking around holding hands with her maid. Even though she is only three years old, her way of walking was steady.
Her golden hair and white dress swayed in the wind, and her large purple eyes resembled precious gems. Everyone said she would become a beautiful woman when she grew up, and until recently, I had thought of her as a fairy-like child. She had a kind of transparency that made it seem like she would disappear if left alone.
But now, I don’t think she’ll just quietly disappear. Despite her appearance, she’s already strong. Besides, she’s just like me. Maybe she understands not only elementary education but even higher education studies.
“Ah, Big Brother !!”
When Diadora noticed Alan and me, she raised her right hand above her head, smiling and waving at us on tiptoes. She expressed her happiness at seeing us with her whole body, and she looks like an angel after dealing with adults whose thoughts were unclear.
“Diadora, going for a walk ?”
“That’s right. I’m going to the training ground for some exercise!”
“Diadora is cute today as well. Your smile is my solace.”
“Big Brother, are you tired ?”
“Where is the ‘training ground’ ?”
“It’s the knights’ training ground. We’re promoting a type of exercise called radio calisthenics.”
“Radio calisthenics ?”
What’s that ? Are the knights doing exercises popularized by three-year-olds? Is our knight order all right ?
“Ah, it’s dangerous to run!”
Alan and I hurriedly lifted our hips almost at the same time. No matter how strong she is, she still has the body of a three-year-old, with short limbs and a large head. Despite being smart, Diadora tended to forget things like the fact that she could easily trip if she ran too fast with her poor balance.
“Ah.”
Not many people say ‘Aah.’ when they fall. At least Diadora always fell silently.
“The art of falling safely ?”
Huh ?
I could understand if she’s learning martial arts, but she should not know anything about proper falling techniques. However, she did twist her body with her right shoulder inward, rotating as she fell backward from her back, where she was supposed to fall flat on her face. She may have been trying to get up, or she may have had too much momentum, but she rolled around on the grass and came closer to us.
“Alan, you’re laughing too much.”
“But that child… she’s always having so much fun.”
Diadora really never fails to surprise me. She always accelerates in unexpected directions. Even now, as she was rolling around, her body was surrounded by pale blue light, so the water spirit must have cast a healing spell on her.
“There aren’t many spirits that learn healing magic. Has she already learned it ?”
“Did you see ? The spirit cast it on her by itself.”
The spirit heals voluntarily without any instruction. I don’t think she realizes how rare that situation is.
“I fell again.”
“That’s why I told you not to run, right ?”
“But….”
Suddenly, Diadora took off her shoes and crouched down.
“What’s wrong ?”
“See, just as I thought. It’s slippery.”
What she proudly showed off were the soles of her shoes.
“Dana, aren’t all shoes slippery ?”
“I didn’t check the soles of this shoes.”
No matter how childish she sounds, it’s strange for a three-year-old to realize that the cause of his fall was the shape of the sole of her shoe, but why didn’t she notice that ?
