The Struggles of Being A Mother of Villains - Chapter 101
Ch.101 Scam (3)
“Also, why wasn’t this fundraising news announced earlier, you guys only announced this news after I disappeared from the hospital? Can this count as violation of privacy as your organization didn’t contact me at first before releasing the news? So, you didn’t post the news earlier, is it because I was still quite popular and you guys were worried that the public would come to the hospital I was in to look for me?” Xiao Yu said in a calm tone.
“Of course not, we……”
“I know, you were going to say that you guys will pay me the money later. At the end of the day, the money was deposited into your company’s bank account, I have no idea how much money was raised.”
The lady on the other side got angry, said: “ You’re disrespecting us.”
“Do you know why I’m so certain that this was a scam?”
“……”
“That is because, on 28/9, I was conscious when you two of were having a conversation in my hospital ward.” Xiao Yu laughed: “Are you surprised?”
“……”
“You guys saw as I only had a child to take care of me, so you wanted to take advantage of this, since the kid won’t have the faintest idea of how much was raised, right? Then, if no family members came to claim the money, you guys would embezzle it? If someone came to claim it, you would only give them a partial of it, since the kid was only 3 years old? Miracles do happen in this world.
Then, Xiao Yu heard the lady hang up the phone. She touched her chin and asked Aunt Wang: “I think she was quite surprised.”
Aunty Wang: “……so these are all a scam?”
Xiao Yu: “Not really, some of them do really help. However, there will also be a few black sheeps in every organisation.”
Upon seeing her so calm, Aunt Wang thought it wasn’t a big deal, so she didn’t comment further.
After an hour, when Xiao Yu reopened Weibo, she saw a response that was made by the lady’s company.
What they had to say was simple, in summary, they said that Xiao Yu was afraid the fundraising campaign was a fraud. They emphasised that they were an honest and transparent organisation, and would not do such immoralities. The explanation they gave for the use of the company’s bank account and not Xiao Yu’s was because Xiao Yu wasn’t responsive to her surroundings even if she was conscious, if the money was directly deposited into her account, they feared that she would not be able to take out the money.
Moreover, her only relative was just a kid. For convenience sake, they firstly provided their company’s account number. After, they would withdraw the money and send it to the hospital. By this, they could avoid any possibilities that the funds would be frozen by the bank. They didn’t think that it would cause such misunderstanding between Xiao Yu. In conclusion, they were very sorry and would announce the amount of funds they were able to raise.
Upon reading this public announcement, she too would have also fought injustice for this organization.
Was she invincible just because she was the victim? Of course not, the organisation voluntarily helped her out of kindness, but she still accused them for wanting to earn of her. Also, from this statement, she seemed like an ungrateful person.
Also, no one knew about the cause of the car accident! Maybe it was the victim who didn’t obey the traffic rules and caused trouble for the driver!
The statement released this morning was thought to be a joke, in line with the company’s response. Was she crazy for the money?
Xiao Yu had already guessed all the possibilities and predicted how the netizens, who had minimal understanding of the accident, would react later.
She was correct, soon, the netizens scolded her, and she was cyberbullied.
Some even attacked her as a person, and countless netizens @ and cursed at her.
Aunt Wang, who was massaging her, felt angry after seeing the responses: “They’re bullying you, they were the ones who lied at first.”
Xiao Yu smiled triumphantly: “Let’s go to Ji Xuan’s company! “
Aunt Wang: “???”
