At this time. the family had already been under the Rainbow Raccoon’s hallucinations. 

This had been mentioned several times, but Rainbow Raccoons could amplify one’s fear. They drove humans into panic and madness by magnifying the mental image that was linked to fear.

The Rainbow Raccoon’s hallucinations had splendidly worked on the family. However, because the Rainbow Raccoon and the Fire Fox looked like that, the image linked to the family’s fear was unified and transformed into a concrete and special form that did not exist in this world.

Their stomachs growled.

It was one big chorus.

The Stuart family governing the borderland used to live in extreme poverty, to the point of being food insecure, until just a few years ago. The anxiety toward future days and hunger they felt at that time wasn’t something that could be easily forgotten.

…were the mouth-watering “Red Fox” and “Green Raccoon Dog.”

Amid the flames and screams of terror as dusk fell on the campsite, the words one hungry family shouted…

“ “ “ “ “Oho~ What do we have hereee~!” ” ” ” ”

…would be nothing else but this.

When it came to this, the Stuart family would rather pounce on the food right before their eyes than cower and endure hunger.

“Nii-sama! The first step is to tear open the lid!”

Emma, the first in the family to be trapped under hallucinations, gave instructions.

“A-Aye!”

George sprinted toward the monsters whose appearances had been transformed by hallucinations.

“Father! Take out the seasoning packet!”

“On it!”

Leonard also ran after George.

The two, who were completely absorbed in the monsters’ trap, didn’t hesitate in their steps no matter how much the area outside the fireproof cloth was burning. Filling their empty stomach was the top priority.

“William, what are you doing?! Hurry and get boiling water!”

“T-That, boiling water out of nowhere… No, wait. When this place is burning this much… the water inside my bottle should be boiling too!”

William glanced here and there looking for hot water then noticed the water bottle hanging on his waist. William’s knees had been burning since a while ago, and the flames just happened to heat the water bottle perfectly.

“Mother! We’ll start counting as soon as William pours boiling water! It’s five minutes not three minutes! Remember clearly, okay? This step is important!”

“You’re right. It’s easy to get mistaken. 60 times 5… 300 seconds it is!”

Melsa nodded deeply to Emma’s precaution.

Boiling water, peeling, counting. The procedure for delicious cooking was miraculously similar to how they prepped the roc they hunted a few days ago.

“GWEEKKK!”

The cries of the Rainbow Raccoon echoed throughout the surroundings.

“Nii-sama? What’s taking you so long?!”

Emma on an empty stomach was relentless.

“Uh? Huh? The lid… won’t open?”

George was pulling hard on what appeared to be the lid in his hallucination. In reality, he was about to tear off the Rainbow Raccoon’s tail.

“George, you have to remove the outer film first!”

Leonard noticed that the transparent film came first before the lid.

“Ye-yeah. That’s right! Film… This, this film is also hard to tear… Oh, I know.”

George took out the crochet hook he used to crochet the fireproof lace and stabbed it into the green raccoon dog’s body without hesitation.

“GWE, GWEEKKK!”

The stabbed Rainbow Raccoon shrieked. It was its first time being attacked by humans under hallucinations.
