Chapter 37: Help! Someone is Bullying a Ghost
This scene, unexpected not only to the female ghost but also to the audience in the live broadcast room, left everyone stunned.
Stealing a ghost’s shoes?
What an inhuman tactic!
?The village girl is up to no good today as well!?
?Seeing the receptionist’s sad and angry face, I feel so sorry for her!?
?She only lost a pair of shoes, but our village girl has lost her integrity (funny gif.)?
Qing Li ran all the way to room 404, and upon seeing the new shoes in her hands, she happily put them on.
They fit perfectly, as if they were tailor-made for her.
The system that witnessed the whole process: “……”
Even it felt embarrassed to be bound to such a player!
Scoff.
“Bang bang bang—”
“Bang bang bang—”
Just then, a loud banging noise suddenly came from outside the door.
The receptionist, who once spoke slowly, now spoke with venom: “Open the door, open it quickly, I know you’re inside.”
“If you have the guts to steal shoes, have the guts to open the door, don’t hide inside like a coward.”
“Bang bang bang—”
The pounding on the door grew louder and louder, and the entire doorframe seemed on the verge of collapsing.
Qing Li raised an eyebrow, surprised that they had found her so quickly.
Moreover, their unyielding stance suggested that this would not end amicably!
“Bang.”
With a loud crash, the overburdened door was finally smashed open.
The unrecognizable receptionist stood at the doorway, her anger reaching a peak when she saw Qing Li wearing her shoes.
Her teeth grinding loudly, her two blood-red eyes seemed almost capable of shooting fire: “Damned human, you will pay for your foolishness.”
“It’s just a pair of shoes. I think we can resolve this amicably,” Qing Li, deviating from her usual violence, faced the terrifying and ferocious ghost with a smile, her eyes full of sincerity.
“What amicable method?” The receptionist, restraining the urge to pounce and bite Qing Li to death, looked at her coldly.
She wanted to see what trick this human was playing and thought there was no rush to devour her later.
In the receptionist’s eyes, humans checking into the hotel were just food delivered to their doorstep.
But they couldn’t recklessly kill the guests, as they would face punishment from their boss if they did.
Thinking of the woman’s cruel methods, a flicker of fear passed through the receptionist’s eyes.
“I have a perfect solution that you will definitely like.”
One moment Qing Li was smiling, the next she suddenly kicked the open room door.
The door slammed shut, leaving only Qing Li and the receptionist, one human and one ghost, in the cramped room.
In her hand, a chainsaw appeared out of nowhere, its engine screeching as the saw’s teeth whirred at high speed.
“I can’t return the only pair of shoes to you, but I can help you by sawing off your feet. That way, you won’t need shoes anymore – a permanent solution, how about that?”
In the dim room, Qing Li’s smile was sinister, her youthful face shrouded in a layer of cruel coldness.
With the chainsaw adding a disturbing effect, she looked like a deranged killer at that moment.
In contrast, the receptionist appeared weak, pitiful, and helpless.
The live stream’s comments started flowing:
[“Run, Miss Receptionist!”]
[“Mom, there’s a psycho here.”]
[“Damn, I’m actually worried about Miss Receptionist’s fate.”]
[“That chainsaw looks like the one Doctor Chu gave to the village girl.”]
[“Receptionist: She stole my shoes, and now she wants to cut off my feet, is this humane?”]
“Dare to trick me.”
The receptionist’s face twisted in rage as she lunged at Qing Li.
Humans are incapable of harming ghosts, so the receptionist was fearless and unafraid of the chainsaw in Qing Li’s hands.
But soon, she paid the price for her impulsiveness.
“Why can’t you discuss things peacefully? Why resort to violence immediately?” Qing Li shrugged her shoulders, and at the moment the receptionist lunged at her, she kicked her so hard that her body flew into the wall, causing a slight tremor in the entire hotel.
The force of the kick was imaginable.
The receptionist fell to the ground, her puppet-made body covered in cracks, disbelievingly staring as her eyeballs fell out.
This human… could actually harm her!
The fallen eyeballs watched the approaching figure, their pupils constricting.
“Don’t come any closer, keep the shoes, I don’t want them,” the receptionist said with a trembling voice, feeling as if she was facing not a human, but a ferocious evil spirit.
“No way, I don’t like owing people. Since I took your shoes, I must compensate you, so you won’t need shoes for the rest of your life. Are you happy, are you delighted?” Qing Li looked down at the receptionist with a sinister smile, the sharp teeth of the saw reflecting her half-obscured, dim face.
The female ghost was utterly shocked: I’m neither happy nor delighted!
“Don’t worry, this chainsaw has a special effect. Ghosts below the level of evil spirits can never recover from its wounds. So, you don’t have to worry about growing your feet back and not having shoes,” Qing Li said, comforting and belittling at the same time.
Terrified by her words, the receptionist’s eye sockets filled with blood: “Please, spare me, I’ll do anything, I’ll serve you.”
She didn’t want to become a disabled ghost!
Qing Li’s eyebrows relaxed imperceptibly as she pressed the chainsaw down towards the receptionist’s ankles, smilingly saying, “What use would I have for someone like you?”
To prove her usefulness, the receptionist quickly said, “This hotel has a secret. A red-dressed fierce ghost lives here, and I know where she is. I can tell you how to find her.”
The excruciating pain shot through the receptionist’s ankles. Though her body was a puppet, the low-level ghost that possessed it used it to deceive humans into staying at the hotel.
“Trying to trick me into finding the red-dressed ghost to deal with me?” Qing Li scoffed, seeing through the receptionist’s ploy.
The chainsaw’s teeth continued to press down, sending splinters flying from the receptionist’s ankles.
Facing the imminent loss of her feet, the receptionist hurriedly confessed, “I know her weakness. If I don’t tell you how to find her, you’ll never know where she’s hiding. She’s already targeting you. Only by killing her can you leave this place.”
The chainsaw stopped abruptly.
Qing Li turned off the switch, her cold voice reaching the receptionist’s ears, “Tell me everything you know.”
Having achieved her goal, she stopped.
The receptionist was right. Qing Li couldn’t find the hidden ghost, even though she now knew the hotel’s elevator connected to another space. In that space, filled with a dense yin energy, the ghost’s presence remained elusive.
This ghost is very cunning, hiding deeper than a rat in a gutter.
