Since mark manifestation is automatic and permanent change – it’s probably just natural manifestation of tamer’s mana inside the monster.
I think Ciel absorbed some of the mana when Sora engulfed her in order to heal. And Sora might have similar “mana mark” to the master.
And it comes to that – Ciel can bring out that absorbed mana in order for mark to manifest, but it’s not the ammount for mark to manifest “naturally”.

Her past self appears to have no ego, and thus is pretty much only an extra layer of knowledge which leads to her memories getting confusing every so often.
And I agree it’s nice to see an instance of reincarnation where the past ego doesn’t either take over or fuse with the current, but the current remains in full control, albeit a bit confused every once in a while.

Man, I know that this arc is very long and tiring but somehow I like it.
It shows how deep-rooted and dangerous the organization is and to clean it up you can’t just wipe it or dust it a couple of time

Makes me wonder if the fortune teller insisted she go on this journey to the town near the capital because she knew Ivy would get mixed up in this. And if she avoided the route she’s taking eventually such a wide spread child kidnapping ring would have caught her when she was without allies. Ivy is actually going to rescue a guy, and the two are going to find their pasts have a lot in common. Ivy’s statement about how it would feel like cheating if she opened a restaurant with recipes from her past life makes no sense…everybody learns recipes from somewhere, and there’s plenty of chefs who take recipes from one region and open restaurants in regions where the cuisine they learned is not prevalent…that doesn’t make them cheaters, just good businesspeople who understand supply and demand…

While what you say it’s true, don’t forget Ivy is still a 9yo child, she may be mature for her age but she’s still too young to see it that way. She might change her mind once she meet the fortune-teller friend or once she’s an adult, though I don’t think she plans to settle down any time soon.

I agree, it clearly shows the immaturity of her viewpoint, I just felt like cooking (of all things) is a strange subject to choose to make that point…it’s different if it was world-changing knowledge (like, gunpowder, penicillin, etc.), that’s not something you can experiment with on your own without significant work in that field, so that could feel like cheating, but for cooking, we’ve even established that the ingredients in this world is not the exact same as that of Ivy’s first world, she is experimenting with equivalents, so while she’s using others’ ideas, her recipes are technically completely her own…

I also agree that Ivy may not just have thought that far, but another way to think about it is that people will think she’s the original creator.
They’re seeing a 9 yr old with innovations even in some of the simpler seasoning thoughts we have (eg tomatoes in stew, croutons and cheese on salad), the most basic being simply with the way they differentiate between medicinal herbs for meds vs herbs you put in food.
They just mentioned how they thought she experimented to make these combos, but these are basic possibilities already known to us. It’s one thing to be taught, it’s another skill level to create it by yourself, and I think Ivy may be uncomfortable with people attributing these findings only to her.

1. While it is known that big cats roar, actually only 4 species are able to roar: lions, tigers, leopards and jaguars. All members of the genus Panthera. Sadly, roars and purrs are mutually exclusive. So since they can roar, they cannot purr.
