[Vol. 6] Chapter 111: The One True God
Xiao Kong was momentarily stunned but quickly realized what was being said.
“So, you’re talking about that Western Origin Spirit Maiden and the Peach Blossom Guard she leads? While they do have some combat strength, they’re still much weaker compared to the Seven Heavenly Demon Lords. If a direct battle were to happen…”
“Exactly. I suspect that’s why they didn’t show up immediately after detecting the enemy’s invasion. After all, this chaotic, secret realm is the heart of Cangyun Mountain, and the other Peak Lords could come here at any time. They don’t need to defeat the invaders, stalling for time and delivering information is their priority.”
The priestess turned and gave a sly smile.
“If the full-strength Seven Heavenly Demon Lords couldn’t handle them, what do you think that clever Spirit Maiden will do after part of her forces are defeated and scattered?”
“Oh, I see…”
The black-haired girl nodded slightly.
“Don’t rush into drastic measures. Let’s first deal with the immediate problem.”
She raised her staff and looked toward the sky.
This pseudo-god realm clearly wasn’t entirely initiated by the old man. It was likely powered by the bone staff he was holding, which was now floating in the sky.
Violet didn’t plan to examine the details of how it worked, as she didn’t have time for that right now.
Even so, this pseudo-god realm was nowhere near the level of the Decay Divine Realm created by the Goddess of Withering Seth in the Azure Sky Kingdom, or the Light Divine Realm temporarily controlled by Minchen in the Holy Empire’s Holy Spirit Trail. It wasn’t just miles apart, it was qualitatively different.
This so-called divine realm lacked the core of “laws”. It was just an empty shell that looked impressive but couldn’t even provide the most basic feature of a divine realm, the limitless divine power. Instead, it relied on burning souls stored in the bone staff to sustain itself.
It was a complete reversal of priorities.
The appearance of this pseudo-god realm only further confirmed a certain suspicion in Violet’s mind.
The copy within the enemy’s camp couldn’t replicate all of her abilities. To put it simply, it couldn’t reproduce powers at the demigod level or higher.
This includes the 9th and 10th tier magic, which can only be used with Iv80 or above, as well as the more complex arcane magic powered by SP, the divine artifact in Violet’s hands, her divine status, and her divine realm. None of these could be copied. What they created was just a “blank-slate Violet” with only basic attributes.
While it might be powerful in some sense, it still fell far short compared to her real self.
If it could truly replicate her, then when she used the 10th-tier magic [I am Light], the copy would have done the same to fight back. There would be no need for [Bone Immortal] to use such a desperate, soul-burning method to force the pseudo-god realm into existence. Why not just use the [Radiant] divine realm? It would be much more convenient.
Just as she had initially suspected, powers like “divinity” and “divine status” are unique and cannot be created from nothing. The unbreakable boundary of Iv80 is an absolute barrier that even beings like Minchen can’t surpass. It’s a limit that holds even the most chosen of beings in check.
The sky full of restless spirits, held by the bone staff, floated aimlessly. At the controller’s command, they dropped down onto the ancient battlefield, among the scattered bones.
The ancient remains, long devoid of life and souls after a thousand years of slumber, began to reassemble and stand. Hollow eye sockets burned with eerie soul flames as they staggered toward the two girls.
Their steps weren’t fast, but they carried a heavy, ancient pressure. Countless skeletal forms rose like walls or an army, making the two girls feel as though they were back in the middle of the ancient battle, struggling to breathe.
Of course, the gods don’t need to breathe.
“This move has a bit of the flavor of a divine realm army, but it’s still far too lacking in essence.”
This pseudo-god realm was more like a field of power. Even if Violet destroyed all the bones, it would only be a waste of time and effort, a distraction, without changing the outcome of the battle in any meaningful way.
If using the divine realm to counteract this were the only option, it would indeed seem like overkill. While the power of 10th-tier spells can’t match a true divine realm, this fake one…
“Bloom, [Eternal Light of Protection].”
A golden lotus bloomed as the girl chanted softly.
The lotus, made entirely of light, had thousands, even tens of thousands of petals, a miracle so vast that it couldn’t even be counted. The moment it was born, it released a brilliance far greater than [Light Protection]. Its radiance shot upward into the sky, spreading outward.
As the golden lotus spun, a light shield expanded rapidly, growing outward at a geometric rate. It charged toward the dark and sinister clouds covering the sky, illuminating the entire ancient battlefield.
*Boom!!! Boom!!! Boom!!!!*
The eternal light, expanding outward, collided with the bone staff floating in the center of the black clouds. The force of three thunderous impacts echoed.
In just three rounds of clash, the bone staff, unable to withstand such immense power, was knocked back, and the dark clouds scattered in large chunks.
*Swooshhhhh…*
The massive remains of the beasts hadn’t even reached the two girls before the core supporting their existence was shattered. The overwhelming purifying force of [Eternal Light of Protection] broke them apart, turning them back into scattered bones.
The burning soul fires slowly extinguished under the light, but instead of returning to their original places, the miserable souls bound and refined by the bone staff were purified by the light and ascended into the sky, their forms transforming into pure spiritual essence, returning to the world as they should.
*Boom!!!*
The bone staff crashed to the ground. The frail old man, [Bone Immortal], “Violet” copy created by [Reflecting Flow], and the severely wounded [Silver Hunt], who was receiving treatment from the former, all reappeared before the two girls, illuminated by the light.
*Puff!!!*
As if suffering from a backlash, the frail old man coughed up several mouthfuls of blood. His pale face was filled with confusion and disbelief, but more than that, he seemed to realize something, and a look of horror crossed his features.
“Cough, cough, cough… Hidden Immortal, True Immortal…! You’ve already reached the True Immortal level of Hidden Immortal?! Impossible! This can’t be! How can there still be a True Immortal in the [Ancient Spirit Realm]?!”
“Now, you’ve seen it.”
Without giving him a chance to stall with words, under the radiant glow of [Eternal Light of Protection], a more dazzling “Holy Spear of Light” erupted from the golden girl’s palm, shooting forward in a burst of flames!
“!”
The “Shadow Copy” form of “Violet” hurriedly stepped forward, the tip of her staff opening up a thick, red-gold light shield, seemingly trying to block the force of the thrown spear.
This was a familiar spell to Violet, [Holy Shield Barrier].
It was an 8th-tier defensive spell that the Priestess had once used. It was known for its incredibly strong defense.
But could an 8th-tier spell cast by the same individual stop an attack empowered by a 10th-tier spell and another 10th-tier summoning magic used to its full strength?
The answer, of course, was no.
*Bang!!!!!!!!*
The golden “Holy Shield” and the brilliant “Holy Spear” collided without any flashy effects. The next moment, terrifying cracks appeared on the shield, visible to the naked eye.
Even though the fake Violet was pouring all her magic into the shield, trying to stabilize it, and despite the Priestess being more skilled in defense than offense, the absolute difference in tier couldn’t be compensated for just by that.
In the next moment, the shield shattered, and the holy spear swept through. The “Water-form Violet” disintegrated completely, her body falling apart.
