Litty Training at the Knight Corps

Not far from the royal castle were the grounds of the Silver Fenrir Corps, complete with quarters and dormitories.

There was also a training facility, large enough for dozens of knights to engage in mock battles.

It used to be rumored that the security of the royal capital was safe and sound if one could hear the cheerful voices of the Knights training on these grounds.

At such a place, a total of 30 knights were introduced to Litty by Ilysis.

“This is Litty, who will be joining us as a Knight’s apprentice today. She is an excellent 3rd Rank adventurer, and I’m sure you can learn a lot from her.”

“I’m Litty! Nice to meet you!”

“Myaan!”

The enthusiastic greetings of one person and one animal reached the entire Silver Fenrir team.

The Knights did not move an inch and kept their stern expressions. At this stage, Litty felt that something was different.

At any rate, they never underestimated Litty despite her being a little girl. This was also because they had thoroughly eliminated unnecessary elements such as carelessness within their training.

In addition to that, she was a girl brought by Ilysis. They understood that she would never invite an ordinary kid.

“Are all of these people here the Silver Fenrir Squad…”

“Not all of them. They are the ones on standby to be mobilized in case of an emergency. The rest of them serve in various posts in the capital as well as on expeditions… Well, in short, you can think of them as a small portion of the Silver Fenrir Corps.”

Litty looked around at them again. At first glance, their stern expressions seemed to keep Litty in check.

Litty did not expect to fit in with them from the start, but her goal was to gain strength as a Knight. To achieve this, she wouldn’t even mind if they hated her.

“Litty, you are here to learn the true meaning of being a Knight.”

“What do you mean by ‘true’?”

“For now, you are going to learn how to attack like a Fighter and defend like a Heavy Warrior, which is one part of what it takes to be a Knight.”

“That sounds great!”

“The other thing is…”

“What’s the other thing?”

Ilysis didn’t continue speaking, but walked over to the Knights. Then she turned to Litty in front of them.

With the Knights in the background, Ilysis smiled wryly. Litty jumped backward reflexively.

She felt intimidation as if the most powerful Knights in the kingdom were declaring war on her.

“Here’s the test, Litty, you’re going to have to fight them all.”

The air in the area chilled. For Litty, who had been expecting training, this was an unexpected request.

With Ilysis’s piercing gaze on her, Litty couldn’t help but tremble with excitement.

“A test…”

“Can you prove to them that you deserve to join them? The Silver Fenrir Corps is revered among the people as a symbol of peace. There are even some who spend years trying to get into the ranks of the Silver Fenrir Corps. In other words, Litty… you can’t proceed without proving yourself first.”

“I understand.”

The Knights were surprised at Litty’s immediate response. There was no fluster, no questions.

Litty was now seriously ready to challenge the Knights.

“Litty, if they all attack you right now, you will die.”

Litty did not respond to her words; not only Ilysis, but each of the Knights behind her were releasing their own fierce fighting spirit.

Litty drew her sword and faced the Knights, even knowing that if they attacked her as Ilysis had said, she would die. Litty knew her combat power better than anyone.

The intimidation she felt was stronger than the nights she spent in the Demon Forest. It felt like fighting more than a horde of Skarbs. Even more than facing the Skarb Queen. More than Jester.

Sweat dripped down Litty’s forehead and down her chin.

If she was of normal mind, she would have cried out and begged for her life by now. Or she would have let go of her consciousness, unable to bear the pressure.

But Litty was the same as ever.

“I’ll do my best.”
