A Girl Who Was Told "You Have No Talent" Turned Out To Be A Talented Monster - Chapter 100.3
“Well…first things first!”
Litty tried to make the first move. However, her opponent would have none of it, as Arwin’s sword strike landed on Litty’s sword and held her back.
If Litty dropped her sword, she would lose.
“Tsk!”
“Hmph!”
Leloute also pushed Demetre back. And in that split second, Litty became outmatched.
The two opponents were as good as Jester and better than Josu.
Arwin did not allow Litty to counterattack, and continued to push her back.
“I won’t lose!”
“Mu…!”
Litty fought back and attacked Arwin. But Arwin was the one of the people Ilysis raised.
“Deflect!”
After fixing his stance, Arwin received Litty’s attack. Litty’s sword was immediately blocked by an invisible wall after he launched a skill.
Litty assumed that Arwin’s entire attention was focused on defense, but he soon switched abruptly to offense.
Even though she thought that she couldn’t dodge the attack, Litty still reflexively tried to dodge, and then–
“Nuuuooh!”
“Gah!”
Demetre, from the side, landed a body blow on Arwin, saving Litty.
In return, Demetre was pinned by Leloute with a sword, and the mock battle came to an end.
“That’s enough!”
Demetre was lying face down with his greatsword in his hand, pondering something.
“Litty, Demetre would have been killed in this battle, and you will have to fight Arwin and Leloute alone. Can you do it?”
“It will be tough.”
“That’s right. You should have noticed by now how good they are, do you still want to continue?”
“Yes, and even if I am no match for them, I will do my best to make it through. I’m going to make it through because this is also an adventure.”
“That’s not how it would have gone this time.”
Ilysis interrupted Litty as she stood between Arwin and Leloute. She placed a hand on their shoulders, a gesture as if to shoo them away.
“This is a mock battle of pairs. You should keep track of your partner’s situation and help each other from time to time… Litty, you’ve been too busy fighting your own battles, Demetre at least helped you out in a pinch. Regardless of who was stronger, Demetre was the only one who acted as a Knight in this battle.”
“Ah…”
“You are not a Fighter who only attacks, nor a Heavy Warrior who only defends. You need to balance offensive and defensive qualities to be a Knight.”
Just like in the Battle with the Forest Leader, just like in the Battle of the Vicious Devourer. One could not only focus on the enemy in front of them without paying attention to their surroundings.
There would always be times when one would be faced with more than one enemy, regardless if it was against humans or monsters. The key elements of a strong Knight were to be able to attack and defend, even in the midst of a crowded battle.
No matter how strong the enemy may be, they must assess the situation and protect themselves. The spirit of being willing to sacrifice yourself even if it means getting hurt was the way of a Knight.
“Demetre here may not be as strong as you, but he is a good Knight.”
“Demetre-san, thank you for defending me in my inexperience.”
“Don’t mind…”
Demetre’s expression of embarrassment was a little off-putting, but to Litty, it didn’t matter because she recognized that Demetre was a good Knight.
Demetre had done what was right as a Knight and saved her life. That alone gave Litty a good impression of Demetre.
“Arwin and Leloute have a high level of ability, but in a real battle, they will have more trouble than they do now. When both pairs can get used to it, we will increase the number of members to three or four to gain more experience.”
“Yes!”
“Myaaaahhh!”
Ilysis giggled at Myan, who was so enthusiastic that she almost yelled. She knew Myan, as a phantom beast, but this was the first time she had seen the real thing.
She actually wanted to touch it, but she desperately suppressed that desire in front of her subordinates.
“Well then, one more round!”
On this day, Litty had a number of mock battles with them.
At first Litty struggled, but as the evening progressed, Litty started to support Demetre more and more.
Ilysis’ estimation was that it should take Litty until the end of tomorrow to improve, but she marveled at the speed at which her threat level was growing.
Arwin and Leloute, on the other hand, though young themselves, broke into a cold sweat over the speed of growth that Litty was going through.
