A Girl Who Was Told "You Have No Talent" Turned Out To Be A Talented Monster - Chapter 137.3
“Kuufa-sama, my name is Roman, and I am a bishop of the Mathias Church. May I have a word with you?” (Roman)
Roman approached Kuufa with a friendly smile, but he entered the room without permission.
Mirai’s health was bad, and Kuufa was waiting for the others while watching over Mirai at the inn.
“Who are you?” (Kuufa)
“I apologize for the sudden visit. Master Roman is not a bad person. Oh, we are his attendants.” (Assistant Priest)
On either side of Roman were young men in attendance. Compared to the men, Roman’s white robes were more exaggerated.
In the Mathias religion, there was a hierarchy of the Pope, Archbishop, Bishop, Priest, Layman and Laywoman. If a person were a Bishop, they would have direct contact with the Pope.
Kuufa was wary of why such a big shot would be interested in her.
“I’m sorry to be so direct, but what is your relationship with that girl?” (Roman)
“Eh… this girl?” (Kuufa)
“Yes, the girl hiding behind you.” (Roman)
“I can’t say… to people who just suddenly turn up…” (Kuufa)
“You’re right. Let me put it this way.” (Roman)
Kuufa did not trust them for obvious reasons.
She observed the person carefully.
“That girl is important to us. I wonder how she ended up with you…” (Roman)
“Nooooo!” (Mirai)
“Mirai!?” (Kuufa)
Kuufa desperately held Mirai, who was frightened and distraught. Kuufa didn’t understand the situation at all, but she knew what she had to do.
No matter who they were, they were not to be tolerated if they were frightening Mirai.
“It’s not surprising… after being apart for so long. Oh dear, your face has gone all tense.” (Roman)
“Please go back.” (Kuufa)
“Wait a minute. This is not a bad deal for you either. If you hand over the girl, we will prepare the reward you desire.” (Roman)
“What is this girl to you?” (Kuufa)
“I can only say that she is significant to us…” (Roman)
They made their demands without getting to the point. Kuufa had no reason to trust these people.
Roman’s magic power was not low, and the same could be said for the priests accompanying him. Kuufa wanted to avoid a fight if possible, but she was prepared for the worst.
“What do you think? We don’t want to resort to violence…” (Roman)
“Huh? This doesn’t look right, though?” (???)
The next person to visit was an old man with a bent back. He was making a dazed gesture, as if he had come to the wrong room.
Roman and the others were taken aback, but they quickly dealt with the old man.
“Sir, this room is in use.” (Assistant Priest)
“I see. I’m sorry to interrupt your important conversation.” (Old Man)
“No, no. Then…” (Assistant Priest)
“Oh, by the way, that’s right. I also had something to say to that child. I remember now.” (Old Man)
“…Old man?” (Assistant Priest)
The old man walked over to Kuufa, ignoring Roman and the others. Kuufa, who was hugging Mirai even tighter, knew who the old man was.
Even those who were not magicians had a trace amount of magic power. Despite this, the fact that this old man was able to remain undetected despite being so close to her was proof of his skill.
There was only one person who she knew of that could control magic with such great mastery.
“Are you… the Sage Oswen?” (Kuufa)
“Hohoho! As I thought, Kuufa-chan! You’re the one I’ve been looking for!” (Old Man / Oswen)
“Oswen?!” (Roman)
Roman and the others knew the name, but only Kuufa was certain that the old man was the real deal.
Why did he come here? How did he come here? Even though she knew it was pointless to think about it, Kuufa remembered a certain phrase.
“You can’t escape from Oswen…” The leader of the magicians once said…
“Well, it’s you, Kuufa-chan, that I want. Now, if you’ll excuse me.” (Oswen)
When Oswen spoke, Roman and the others had already disappeared. Did he kill them? What happened to them?
“Now that the troublemakers are gone, Kuufa-chan. I’ve come to talk to you about something important. This is the first time we’ve met in person.” (Oswen)
“Sage Oswen…” (Kuufa)
[Sage], Kuufa sensed that this title was not just for show, but that it was something more.
At the same time, she was also preparing to draw out all the magical power she could muster. It wasn’t a matter of whether she could win in a fight. For Kuufa, what was important was to protect Mirai who was precious to her.
