A Girl Who Was Told "You Have No Talent" Turned Out To Be A Talented Monster - Chapter 139.1
Ex-Piece, Getting to the Truth
Several days have passed since Oswen the Wise approached Kuufa. The most notable points during their interaction was Oswen’s statements and his magic ability.
No one could ignore the magic control that he espoused and the discomfort that Kuufa felt.
“That man is not telling the truth. I don’t know if he is really trying to rule by magic…” (Kuufa)
“Why do you think so?” (Roma)
“If he really wanted to do it, he could accomplish it by himself. In fact, when I met him, I felt it…. I can’t compare to him at all.” (Kuufa)
“There is no need to compare, Kuufa-san.” (Litty)
Kuufa’s tendency to look down on herself had returned, albeit it was not as bad as before, and Litty being the medicine was keeping her in a balance.
Oswen and Kuufa were different.
Oswen had already matured and accomplished what he could, but Kuufa was still in her nascent stage of being a magician.
That meant Kuufa had “potential” that Oswen no longer had.
“That’s right…. I will aim to use my magic the way I think is right.” (Kuufa)
“Oswen enjoys swaying Kuufa-san like that, so don’t be swept away.” (Roma)
“That’s true. To him, not just us, but everyone is beneath him.” (Kuufa)
“Hmmm! Magic…” (Litty)
Litty had neither the magic power nor the knowledge about magic. So, she couldn’t really judge how great Oswen’s magic was.
However, she at least understood that Oswen was great enough to make someone as skilled as Kuufa acknowledge him.
“He disappeared at the end. Maybe he’s using teleportation or something?” (Roma)
“I doubt that’s all there is to it… you know? Moreover, he seems to know something about Mirai…” (Kuufa)
“Mirai-chan… So far, we’ve not been able to find a single clue about her identity.” (Roma)
–If the truth were to come out, are you prepared to stay with her until the end?
Kuufa gently patted Mirai’s head as she rested in her sleep. The girl’s innocent expression soothed Kuufa, but she also reconsidered her own resolve.
She understood that all she needed to do was prepare for the inevitable, whatever it may be, but also have the power to deal with whatever comes with it.
Now that the encounter with Oswen had shown her the difference in power, the ceiling that Kuufa had recognized was no longer a ceiling, it turned into something even higher.
“Hmmm? Are you guys hesitating in continuing our mission?” (Litty)
“…I’m personally not inclined to continue the investigation.” (Roma)
“Roma-chan, are you sure about that?” (Kuufa)
“As Ennely-chan mentioned before, there are indeed many suspicious activities happening in this country currently, but I don’t think we can do anything about it.” (Roma)
“Hmmm.” (Litty)
“I think most people here are honestly too faithful to Mathias Faith. I’m sure the bishops I’ve been in contact with have been…” (Roma)
Despite Roma’s complaints, Litty couldn’t imagine quitting at this time. She was concerned about the old couple from the other day. She had already told her friends about it.
Litty decided, “I won’t stop.”
“Are you worried about the grandpa and grandma that you mentioned, Litty-chan?” (Kuufa)
“That grandma is telling the truth. Even that Grandpa believes her, you know. They seemed to be in a lot of pain.” (Litty)
“I don’t want to do a half-hearted investigation either.” (Kuufa)
