A Girl Who Was Told "You Have No Talent" Turned Out To Be A Talented Monster - Chapter 139.2
Roma was alone in her thoughts of abandoning the mission noticing how troublesome it would be. In the name of investigation, they had already done what they could.
Still, knowing that Redner would not be satisfied with the results if they gave up now, she could not summon the courage to go through with this decision.
“Roma-san, let’s go see that grandpa and grandma tomorrow.” (Litty)
“Eh? Why?” (Roma)
“I think it’s not too late to decide after we meet those people.” (Litty)
Roma somehow understood Litty’s true intentions. Although she was reluctant, she understood that as a member of Ex-Piece, she had to agree.

Litty found out that the old couple lived in a room of an old apartment building. When asked, the old man refused to let them in.
“Please leave.” (Grandpa)
“We’d like to talk to you about your daughter.” (Litty)
“Looking closely, I see that you’re the one who was…. My wife is just weak in the head. Don’t take her seriously.” (Grandpa)
The old man tried to close the door, but Litty held it with her hand. Roma was tempted to tell Litty that she was being too forceful, but the look in Litty’s eyes made her think better of it.
Litty didn’t look as air headed and naive as she usually would.
“No, I doubt that’s the case. She looked me in the eye, spoke clearly, and answered my questions.” (Litty)
“Just leave! I don’t have a choice! Let me live the rest of my life in peace!” (Grandpa)
“Grandma! Your daughter is in the back of the Great Temple, right?” (Litty)
“Yes… Hey, let me talk to the girl…” (Grandma)
The old woman looked lonely behind the old man and appealed to him with her eyes, to let Litty in.
The old man, perhaps contemplating, invited them into the room.
“… I can’t help it. Everyone looked away approvingly. Aishia, who is only a small village girl… The Pope had taken our daughter as his wife.” (Grandma)
“He was on a pilgrimage to many places, and everyone admired him…. So did we. But the only thing we were against was giving our daughter away…” (Grandpa)
Even though she was just starting out, Roma was already shocked. It was obvious, without saying much, that the Pope’s wife was the daughter of these two people.
The old woman’s hands trembled and a drop of a tear fell on her hand.
“That village, as the birthplace of the Great Holy Mother, was treated so favorably that it was unthinkable before. The villagers also took it as a good thing. In this country where the commandments forbid the killing of monsters, there was often a lot of damage…. But that village was protected. We can’t say anything as long as there is the risk of people losing their families.” (Grandpa)
“The Great Holy Mother! ! Really? The Pope told us that she is lying on a sickbed…. Then the Great Holy Mother was originally a commoner…” (Litty)
“I heard that the Great Holy Mother has been chosen that way for generations. A divine mandate… If it is Mathias-sama’s guidance, we cannot refuse. Even if it’s with someone we love…” (Roma)
Litty’s eyes were serious, but Roma was just puzzled. The Pope had basically forced a commoner woman to become his wife. If that were true, it would be unforgivable for Roma.
Myan’s anger would be justified if that were the case. The Pope was such a person.
“Wait, the Great Holy Mother…. Aishia-san was already with someone?” (Roma)
“That’s right. Yes. We had already approved of their relationship and thought they were going to get married. Until that day… (Grandma)
