A Girl Who Was Told "You Have No Talent" Turned Out To Be A Talented Monster - Chapter 141.2
The door at the far end of the sanctuary was small. Although curious, Ennely did not approach it carelessly.
She stuck to the door as they entered the room. With her ear planted on the door, she continued to hear their conversation.
“Aisha. How are you feeling?” (Pope)
“…I’m fine. I’m not sick.” (Aisha)
“No, you are sick because you had a relationship with that man in my presence. You must heal your filthy body and mind.” (Pope)
“That’s right. I am not fit to be a Great Holy Mother. Please kill me.” (Aisha)
(What, what, what! Did some kind of adulterous stuff happen within the sanctuary!) (Ennely)
Ennely was not interested in love. She simply thought that it was a hindrance for her to have relationships with others.
And topics that involved it was not a pleasant story for her, but she held back her rejection for the sake of gathering information.
“In a few days, my daughter, Clarine, will be inaugurated as the Great Holy Mother. You must have an answer by then.” (Pope)
“I have been telling you, I don’t know where that girl is! I have already told you this many times!” (Aisha)
“Well, that’s all right now because we found her.” (Pope)
“Eh…” (Aisha)
Ennely’s deduction was right. The Great Holy Mother Aisha had an affair with another man who was not the Pope.
Mirai was born to that man. They didn’t know when the Pope found out about the relationship, or how Aisha was able to have an affair without the Pope’s knowledge.
The Pope alienated from Mirai to the point that he even wanted to kill her. This brought up another question for Ennely, however.
(Even if it was not his own child, was he really so mad to a point that he was willing to kill her?) (Ennely)
“You found her… What are you going to do with her?” (Aisha)
“What am I going to do with her? Well, you should have an answer, right?” (Pope)
Ennely thought again as she listened to the sound of slap. Aisha had let Mirai escape by some means.
What happened after she was able to let Mirai escape was unknown, but Ennely was convinced that along the way, members of Grand Shark must have been informed which was where she ended up before meeting Kuufa.
(How did such a little girl survive? Oh, but her recovery magic… It wasn’t normal…) (Ennely)
“There is no need to kill her, even if she is a child of that man! It’s enough that I am the one who will be judged and not her!” (Aisha)
“Not so fast. If that girl’s existence becomes known… What would happen if people found out that the Great Holy Mother is an adulteress?” (Pope)
“I don’t care! I’ll tell them everything and admit what I have done, and then leave this country with her!” (Aisha)
“Don’t talk nonsense!” (Pope)
It was the second slap on the face. Ennely tried to keep her emotions in check and forced herself to focus only on gathering information.
Previously, Ennely was expecting Johan to be with the Great Holy Mother, who, according to Roma, had disappeared six months earlier. But from the story she heard now, Ennely concluded the affair was probably discovered around the time he disappeared.
She could understand the Pope’s logic of killing Mirai, but for him to reach that point, she concluded that the Pope most likely had some deep emotions for the Great Holy Mother as well.
Ennely, with her true eyes, had seen through Yggdrasia’s true nature, so it was not difficult to guess.
(I see. The Pope is jealous, probably because Mirai-chan has more magic power than Clarine who was his own child.) (Ennely)
The child born to Aisha and her adulterous lover had more magical power than Clarine.
Ennely was convinced that this was intolerable for someone like the Pope, to the point that he had to lock up the Great Holy Mother, calling her sick and urging her not to confess.
From the standpoint of the Pope, it was not difficult to understand his actions. But Ennely also knew that Great Holy Mother Aisha was a former commoner who had a partner she loved.
It was the Pope who forced her to marry him. Therefore, it was not surprising that Aisha did what she did.
(But the Pope can’t openly admit that Mirai-chan’s magic power is great. To maintain all appearances, they need to make Clarine the new Great Holy Mother.) (Ennely)
“She’s… She is alive…” (Aisha)
