A Girl Who Was Told "You Have No Talent" Turned Out To Be A Talented Monster - Chapter 143.3
When he was in active service, he would chew and drink it when he was about to be caught. He would make his enemies think that he was killing himself, and then he would collapse.
No one would be wary of a dead body. And it would only be seen as the death of a great thief. The mindset of “let’s make a big image of showing the ending of a great thief as a corpse” was at work.
After that, the dead body would–
(Alright…. Ah, that was tough…) (Ennely)
The dead body would come back to life after a certain amount of time had passed.
The dead person would start to move, escape, and take the treasure. This was the true value of the suspended animation potion known as the Living Dead.
However, this was also a gamble. If the person in suspended animation was quickly disposed of, there would be no way to escape their predicament.
Ennely gambled on Mathias’ beliefs of not killing. In addition to that, there was what Ryouhou said to her while she was being strangled, saying that he would turn her over to the Adventurers’ Guild after her capture.
(You’re so naive, baldie. We can just get up after we fall down. You should not assume the outcome until the end.) (Ennely)
However, Ennely was not unscathed. It would take a little while for her body to be completely free to move due to the effects of the Living Dead.
Ennely staggered to her feet, but quickly fell down again. She could hear a conversation coming from the other side of the door.
“Are you really going to hand that thief’s dead body over to the Adventurers’ Guild?” (???)
“Yes. This will be a great disservice to the Adventurers’ Guild. At the very least, with this, we will be able to restrict their activities in the country.” (???)
“I commend you for thinking this much. I also don’t want to be suspected of committing murder after all…” (???)
“Indeed. I don’t want to be accused of being a nasty and vicious person as well.” (???)
(What many accusations. Wait, one of them is the Pope.) Ennely
Ennely, lying on her back, pondered her future course of action. Would it be safe to escape, or should she try to take Aisha out again?
The latter was not without temptation, but Ennely thought it was best to escape.
The route in the sanctuary, the summoning of angels, Ryouhou’s Shinryu-ken, the truth of it all. These pieces of information alone were worth bringing back.
In particular, she believed that Litty was the only one who could beat Ryouhou. She wanted to give Litty as much information as possible about this mysterious ability called Shinryu-ken.
“Let’s strengthen the security around and inside the Great Temple much more than planned. I’ll leave the command to her. Now, introduce yourself to the Pope.”
“Yes. Nice to meet you, Pope. It’s like a dream to meet you like this… My name is Elaine. I used to teach at Aristopia Academy in the Kingdom of Factia.” (Elaine)
“Oh, from Factia…” (Pope)
(What, she seems to be an old lady by the sound of her voice? She sounds like the annoying type though.) (Ennely)
Although Ennely was not acquainted with her, Ailene had clashed with Litty and her friends at Aristopia Academy.
She was the martial teacher who forced her students to call her Sister Ailene.
“She has only been in the Holy City for a short time, but she is mastering Shinryu-ken. Together with Ryokai, let’s leave her in charge of security for the day.” (Ryouhou)
“Yes, I have no objection.” (Pope)
(Huh? I didn’t remember hearing about multiple Shinryu-ken users?) (Ennely)
Ennely, of course, would choose to escape if the situation became more troublesome for her.
For now, Ennely continued listening, wondering if this was the end of it.
“And just to be sure. Let’s release those things in the sanctuary.” (Ryouhou)
“Isn’t that dangerous?” (Pope)
“It’s an important inauguration of the High Priestess. This time, we can’t allow any thief to enter.” (Ryouhou)
“I’ll leave it to you. I’ll leave it to you.” (Pope)
(Those things? I’m sure what they mean, but they sound like trouble…)
Ennely was not discouraged, even though she was feeling a bit heavy.
Hoping that this information would give them a big advantage, she started to formulate a new plan to escape.
Soon the aftereffects of the drug would wear off. That would be the start. Ennely stared at the ceiling of the dark room as she waited.
