Hi, we are planning to drop AGTM from next month, so please don't join Patreon membership.

Litty, Witness the End of Heroes

Aldis struggled to contain his fury. It would have been a disaster had it not been for the restrictions of the courtroom, the Royal Family, and the guards with weapons entrusted to them.

In addition, the presence of a powerful figure named Ilysis had set him on edge. This powerful figure showed not the slightest fear, even against a Hero’s Party.

“As you know, Yggdrasia is a party with achievements that are enough to be called heroes. However, behind the scenes, they have been violently beating up Litty here, despite claiming her as their disciple.” (Ilysis)

“Eh, please wait. There have been some misunderstandings regarding this matter.” (Zhul)

“Then I’ll let the witness give their testimony.” (Ilysis)

“O, Oi” (Zhu)

Zhul tried to interject, but Ilysis brushed him off. She never let the other party take the initiative, and she kept the pace from the start.

The fact that the King allowed her to have a monopoly on the discussion was an added bonus.

The first person to start talking was the owner of the store where Litty was taken care of.

“We run a restaurant in the city of Topaz. They came to visit our restaurant one day, and Litty-chan… was the only one they wouldn’t allow to order anything.” (Owner)

“Hey, old bastard! Don’t be so silly! Prove it!” (Aldis)

This cursing seemed to affirm the shopkeeper’s statement, but the overheated Aldis was oblivious.

Zhul’s advice for Aldis to keep his cool had already lost its meaning.

The old couple, frightened by Aldis, stopped speaking, but Ilysis stood beside them and put her hand on the store owner’s shoulder.

“I will respectfully accept their opinion that the food may not be as good as they would like it to be. But the way they kicked the table and knocked over the bill… ummm?” (Owner)

“I told you to provide proof!” (Aldis)

“The proof will come from their testimony.” (Ilysis)

As Ilysis stated without hesitation, the next witness started to speak. They were residents of a neighboring town that was different from Topaz.

They were of different origins, genders, and ages. Ilysis had worked hard to gather these witnesses.

Following the smallest piece of information, Ilysis dug up everything she could find regarding Yggdrasia and its wrongdoings. Ilysis and her knights worked hard as time was short during Litty’s arrest and trial. They even forgo their sleep and rest.

Ilysis, despite her calm outward appearance, was simply overflowing with passion, because of knowing that a party like Yggdrasia was trying to destroy a precious gem, namely Litty.

“The girl over there… I saw her before. They were kicking her in the back while making her carry a heavy load. I also remember that she was verbally abused.” (Witness 1)

“I went to see them, hoping to witness their arrival in my town. But I saw one girl who was poorly dressed and ragged, like a slave…. I felt uncomfortable.” (Witness 2)

“It was thanks to that girl over there that I was saved… I remember her well. She was running away in that blast. A girl with no weapons or skills of any kind… but the moment she saw me in trouble, she did her best to help so that we could escape, thank you.” (Witness 3)

“No problem…” (Litty)

Litty could only respond ambiguously because she was simply doing what she thought was right. Moreover, she couldn’t honestly accept a thank-you from someone she didn’t remember.

“If you were saved by someone from our party, you should be thanking us too, right?” (Aldis)

“Of, of course! Thank you for that time…” (Witness 3)

“Look, look, we’re heroes. We are helping people properly!” (Aldis)

“If you were really helping people properly, you could have fought while defending Litty and that person.”
