A Girl Who Was Told "You Have No Talent" Turned Out To Be A Talented Monster - Chapter 97.4
Merida and the other students who were speaking were those who had been helped by the Aristopia Branch Mock Adventurer’s Guild. A closer look by the Headmaster revealed that the hallway was filled to the far end with students.
The fact that so many people had come to the defense of the three girls astonished the Headmaster. At the same time, it made him more certain about not taking any actions against Litty and team.
Arthur and Mia from the elite class came out and pleaded with the Headmaster.
“I never had great grades, even though I was in an elite class. But thanks to Litty and others, I gained a lot of confidence. Especially because I was like Badrick-sama before… but now, I stopped chasing my brother’s shadow. I want to be me.”
“I was about to give up, as well. It’s thanks to these girls that I’ve gained confidence…”
“You guys…”
“Wha, what are you talking about?”
Ailene raised her high-pitched voice to the students. The students had been afraid of Ailene before, but now they showed no signs of fear.
Ailene’s anger escalated as the students showed a different reaction than usual.
“It is this Redner-sama that you people should be thanking! What have those three been doing when this person was fighting the Angel!”
“Of course, we are thankful to Redner-sama! Thank you! But we are also thankful to Litty, Kuffa and Roma.”
“”””Yes!””””
“Nuuu…”
Redner could not help but be silent when he was being praised like this. Inwardly, he was proud of himself and his country, but he was in front of Litty and the others. He did his best to hide his embarrassment.
After making up his mind, the headmaster finally said, “…Cashack-sama. You are right to be angry, but there are also students who are thankful to the girls. It is true that they may be immature, as you say. But as an educator… I cannot lose sight of what is truly important to me.”
“Wha, what are you…!”
“I believe that this situation was the fault of the academy, so we should deal with it sincerely and take full responsibility. I am even willing to make a fresh start at this time if needed.”
“What? What do you mean?”
“We will give proper explanations to students and parents who have sent complaints. This accident was the result of our negligence. We need to change our ways.”
Now that the headmaster had made up his mind and took full responsibility, Cashack knew that he could no longer do anything. The scenario was originally just a revenge plot by Hissreite, who cried out to her father.
Redner also didn’t interfere as he did not want to make his stance too obvious and end up looking like a tyrant.
“Also, I have something important to tell you, father.” (Jester)
“What is it?” (Redner)
“As of today, I am withdrawing from Aristopia Academy.” (Jester)
“What?” (Redner)
“Thank you for listening to my selfishness and letting me join the Adventurer’s Course. I will pay you back the money including the entrance fee in due time.” (Jester)
Redner was indeed upset to hear this confession from his own child. No one was allowed to interfere in the affairs between parents and their children. Especially when they were dealing with the Grand Duke.
The headmaster and his staff were horrified that such a personal matter was being discussed right now.
“What’s your reason?”
“I am supposed to be the top of this academy, but Litty there fought me on more than even terms. If you were to ask who among us is better, it would be Litty there, who has only been an adventurer for a short period of time…. I don’t see the point of staying at this academy for four years if I can’t even reach her level.”
“You don’t mean to imply that losing to an adventurer made you want to do this.”
“…I am asking for your permission.”
Redner’s quiet fury intimidated everyone around him. If he lashed out, no one would be able to stop him. The headmaster, as well as Aileen, Cashack, and others, were completely backed up against the wall.
On the other hand, the three of the girls didn’t move from where they stood even as they received the intimidation. Even the girl who followed Kuufa did not move away from her, though she was still trembling.
“Ah, aaah, ummm! Jester-sama, please change your mind! This Ailene will do whatever she can for you.”
“Ailene-sensei. Thank you for all you have done for me. Please, from now on, you should look after your students as well as the headmaster.”
“Of course I will! So please think about it.”
“… all right, you are free to do so.”
Redner’s approval made Ailene give up. Ailene was among the one who only cared about the academy’s brand to the end.
Jester did not trust the words that came out from such a person.
“However, I hope you understand what this means. I won’t be expecting a half-baked result.”
“I am aware of that. And I have not forgotten your dream.”
“Hmm, you’re full of yourself. Well, let’s just say that’s one path to follow.”
Litty couldn’t help but acknowledge Jester’s strength in facing a person like Redner without fear.
“Jester-san…. That’s cool.”
“Lit… ty?”
Unaware of Roma’s accelerating concern, Litty admired Jester.
Cashack soon went away with a dismissive look on his face, and Ailene also felt helpless. The headmaster apologized in front of the students. On the other hand, students were happy. It was a moment of great contrast.
