A Sweet Girl Won't Be Fooled By The Villainess - [Vol. 4] Chapter 29
[Vol. 4] Chapter 29: Not a Freak
Amelia successfully silenced Prince Carloy and gave the command for him to leave immediately.
Even if he later realized what had happened, Prince Carloy would likely think it was his momentary lack of words and failure to express his thoughts in time. The abilities of a demon were indeed quite useful.
Ifia was looking forward to today’s academy celebration, and Amelia didn’t want anyone else to ruin it.
The bet with Prince Carloy was just something done casually, a way to add a bit of fun to the competition, making Ifia even happier.
Everything was meant to please Ifia.
So, at this point, Prince Carloy should exit the stage. He shouldn’t continue standing there, getting in the way.
“Prince Carloy, this time I won. Remember to have the documents for the transfer of the territory sent over,” Amelia nodded toward the silent Prince Carloy.
Despite her overly dazzling appearance and the attire of a pure angel at the moment, she lacked the approachable warmth of an angel.
Instead, she exuded a proud and disdainful demeanor, like a highland flower on a snowy mountain peak, making people hesitant to approach.
However, when she turned to look at Ifia, her sharp aura instantly transformed.
The corners of her eyes and brows softened, carrying a gentle demeanor, as if the snow mountain had melted for a moment, and the highland flower had descended to the mortal realm.
“Ifia, let’s go play other games.”
“Yeah.”
Ifia responded crisply, the victory in the bet making her mood delightful. Especially after seeing Prince Carloy eat humble pie, she felt even more pleased!
However, based on past experiences with Prince Carloy, it was strange that he didn’t exhibit his usual incompetence and rage this time.
A bit peculiar!
Thinking about it, Ifia deliberately glanced in Prince Carloy’s direction. She saw him angrily turning away, and the injured Irene, enduring the pain, followed after him.
Tsk tsk, Irene, the female lead, was too submissive.
It was almost painful to watch.
Nevertheless, the annoying guy had left, which was a good thing. Next, she and Amelia could play freely.
Of course, Ifia remembered her goal for today—to complete the system task using the celebration event as an opportunity.
However, with the crowd bustling around, she needed a space for herself. After all, engaging in intimate activities in public wasn’t her style. So, she decided to play first!
Convincing herself with a very reasonable argument, Ifia immediately shook off any burdens.
With Amelia, this powerful weapon, like a tiger entering a sheepfold, she swept through various competitive games, winning championships and receiving admiration from all directions. Ifia was filled with pride and satisfaction.
Her Amelia was indeed formidable!
Due to the championships offering various prizes, Ifia, overwhelmed by small gifts, could only temporarily store them, planning to retrieve them after the celebration ended.
“Hurry, the bonfire is about to be lit. Come and join the fun!”
“Wait, I can’t run anymore. Even if I go, it’s going to be crowded, and what’s there to see!”
Just as Ifia bit into her candy, contemplating what to do next, someone rushed past her. With the lingering words, Ifia’s eyes lit up.
Bonfire event!
Although lighting the bonfire in the evening would create a more atmospheric setting, Pulis Academy didn’t permit celebration activities to extend into the night.
Therefore, the bonfire would be lit during the day. Regardless of day or night, the enormous flames would surely attract attention.
Ifia crushed her candy, making a prompt decision. They were going to observe the bonfire event!
Despite the previous experience of hunting witches and facing the danger of being burned alive, it didn’t leave any psychological scars on Ifia. Perhaps due to partial memory loss, it felt like she had just experienced a thrilling dream.
After opening her eyes again, returning to the safe zone, there was no danger at all. However, although the system reiterated the lost memories, Ifia felt like something important was missing.
Unfortunately, no matter how hard she tried to recall, she couldn’t remember it. In the end, she decided not to torture herself further. Perhaps the missing memories would naturally resurface in the future, so there was no need to dwell on it too much.
“Amelia, let’s go see the bonfire together!”
Having made the decision, Ifia turned to look at Amelia, her black eyes filled with an expectant expression, proving that she really wanted to join in the fun. However, this time, Amelia shook her head and directly refused.
This left Ifia momentarily stunned. Then, she blinked in confusion. There was no disappointment from being rejected, just curiosity about why Amelia, who had always fulfilled her various requests, would refuse this time.
Without letting Ifia wonder for too long, Amelia quickly provided an explanation.
“Last year during the academy celebration, over a dozen students were injured due to the bonfire event. Some were hurt because they were pushed and fell in the crowded crowd, while others were burned by falling flames.”
Although Amelia could protect Ifia from harm, she didn’t like being in crowded crowds, especially having physical contact with others, which made the demon lord feel uncomfortable.
“Oh, I see!”
Hearing Amelia’s explanation, Ifia widened her eyes in surprise, not expecting it to be so dangerous! While Ifia enjoyed lounging around and being carefree, it didn’t mean she wasn’t afraid of danger. So, Ifia nodded sensibly without joining the excitement.
“Safety is the most important. But why isn’t Pulis Academy prohibiting such a dangerous bonfire event?”
“As a necessary part of the celebration, lighting the bonfire is not something that can be easily prohibited with just a mention of danger.”
Amelia smiled as she answered Ifia’s question, leaving Ifia sighing with regret. She then looked towards the crowd where several large torches were ready to be ignited with just a small match.
With a hopeful expression on Ifia’s face, Amelia thought for a moment and then proposed a compromise.
“Ifia, I can take you to the rooftop of the building. It’s only three stories high, but you’ll get a clear view of the lit bonfire.”
“Huh? But, aren’t students not allowed to enter the rooftop of the academy freely?”
Surprised that they could still get a high vantage point, Ifia’s spirits lifted, but the thought of the academy rules dampened her enthusiasm. Her eyes, initially brightened with joy, drooped again like a puppy’s ears hanging down dejectedly.
They didn’t have the key to the rooftop door, and even if they went, they couldn’t open the heavy iron door.
However, seeing Ifia’s pouting expression, Amelia lightly poked her and said with a smile, “It’s okay, I have the key.”
“???”
(?0_0)?
Ifia followed Amelia with a bewildered expression as they reached the rooftop. When she saw Amelia effortlessly open the iron door with a black key, she finally snapped back to reality. She couldn’t help but marvel at the perks of privilege.
As Amelia opened the door, she explained, “Sometimes, the art club needs to gather inspiration on the rooftop, so the academy grants special permission… Today, just to be cautious, I brought the key.”
Amelia raised her hand, holding Ifia’s hand as they walked through the iron door, and the black key inserted into the door dissipated.
Standing on the spacious rooftop and looking down, they had a perfect view of the entire process of lighting the bonfire.
While lacking the immersive experience of being in the crowd, they gained the safety. Ifia stared at the burning bonfire, the orange flames soaring high, seemingly devouring the sky above the crowd.
It was a spectacular sight!
Excited, Ifia tightened her grip on Amelia’s hand. The flames reflected in her black pupils, and the thought of watching the bonfire together with Amelia made her feel…
Wait a minute, rooftop, the two of them alone. Wasn’t this the perfect opportunity to complete the mission?
