[Vol. 4] Chapter 39: It’s Really Cute!
Ifia nervously blinked her eyes, afraid to shift her gaze, and stared straight at the special creature not far away.
Was that a unicorn?!
The existence of such a special creature in the Sith Empire is truly shocking news!
If Jessica finds out, she would definitely skip classes, rushing over eagerly to assertively observe, satisfying her curiosity about mythical creatures.
Not to mention Jessica, Ifia is currently thinking the same and really wants to get closer for a look.
After all, it’s a unicorn!
It usually only appears in fictional novels and legends, unlike antagonist characters such as vampires and demons. Unicorns symbolize purity and goodness, belonging to the camp of benevolence.
“Amelia, I found a unicorn, it’s so beautiful!”
Encountering such a rare and extraordinary creature, Ifia naturally wants to inform her closest companion. While maintaining a motionless posture, her face expresses excitement, and with one hand, she subtly tugs at Amelia’s sleeve, wanting to share this moment of joy.
If only there were a phone or camera to capture this moment as a keepsake.
“Mm.”
Compared to Ifia’s excitement, Amelia remained remarkably composed.
However, she disliked Ifia appreciating other creatures, even if it was just a horse with a horn.
The demon’s possessiveness was strong!
Once she finds the Holy Lotus, she plans to break off the horn of this horse and burn its fur, ensuring it has no association with beauty.
Thinking this, Amelia raised her head with Ifia’s words, her gently narrowed purple eyes revealing a malevolent intent. This immediately made the unicorn, initially leisurely making eye contact with humans, tense up.
The unicorn quickly raised its head, its hooves tapping the ground anxiously, its blue eyes filled with vigilance.
Its soft white mane seemed to stand up like a cat’s fur. Despite the continuous warning signs of danger, the unicorn did not immediately leave but hesitated.
Encountering the owner of a pure soul in nearly a hundred years, compared to other filthy and unpleasant souls, the human with black hair and black eyes emitted a constant sweet fragrance, attracting the unicorn’s closeness.
However, the demon standing next to the human made the unicorn fearful.
Therefore, even though it noticed the pure soul from the beginning, the unicorn dared not approach and could only follow from a distance. However, its tracking skills were poor, making it visible to anyone with functioning eyes.
It’s hard not to be noticed.
When the unicorn contemplated whether to run, Ifia detected something abnormal in Amelia’s calm demeanor. This diverted her attention from the unicorn, prompting her to turn her head towards Amelia.
“Amelia, did you already know?” Ifia inquired.
“Saint Tiffany mentioned it to me. The lotus she desires is extraordinary. Even the church couldn’t find it. Only a human with a pure soul can attract a unicorn and lead us to the Holy Lotus.”
Seeing Ifia looking at her, Amelia smiled and calmly explained the reason. This revelation widened Ifia’s eyes in surprise.
She then glanced at the unicorn that had not left yet, feeling a bit anxious as she asked, “So, this unicorn was attracted by us?”
“More precisely, the unicorn came because of you.”
“If I approach, it won’t attack me, right?”
“No, it won’t.”
With Amelia’s assurance, Ifia immediately gained confidence. She might doubt herself, but she couldn’t doubt Amelia.
“I want to touch it.”
With a mixture of nervousness and anticipation on her face, Ifia took a deep breath and slowly walked towards the unicorn, attempting to fulfill her wish of touching it.
As Ifia approached on her own, the unicorn, initially intending to escape, became dazed.
The scent of a pure soul overwhelmed the unicorn, causing it to forget everything else.
With joyful neighs, it restrained its excitement to avoid scaring Ifia away. It stood in place, perked its ears, and moved its head, shaking its mane. It seemed eager to bury its head in Ifia’s embrace.
Seeing the non-aggressive behavior of the unicorn, Ifia grew bolder. She quickened her pace and soon made close contact with the unicorn.
Glancing back at Amelia and receiving an encouraging look, Ifia made up her mind. Turning her head, she tentatively raised her hand, and the unicorn promptly approached, nuzzling her affectionately with its side since it was mindful of the horn on its head.
The adorable scene brought a smile to Ifia’s face.
Unlike the aggressive special creatures she had encountered before, this unicorn displayed a gentle and obedient demeanor. Ifia couldn’t help but wish to take it home. However, living in the dorms, she could only consider keeping it at Amelia’s private residence.
“Amelia, it’s so adorable!” Ifia exclaimed.
The unicorn, intoxicated by the fragrance of the pure soul, remained oblivious to Amelia’s presence even as the demon approached. With such a clumsy and foolish appearance, Amelia lost interest in dealing with it.
However, Amelia quickly extinguished the spark that had not yet ignited when she realized Ifia’s thoughts.
“Even if it’s adorable, you can’t take it with you. After all, it’s the ‘sacred beast’ offered by the Church,” Amelia declared decisively.
Indeed, the mention of the sacred beast immediately brought Ifia back to reality.
Oh, it was someone else’s pet!
She could only admire from a distance.
Ifia extended her hand, feeling a bit regretful, and gently touched the unicorn’s smooth fur. For some reason, the moment she saw the unicorn, she felt a strong sense of familiarity and the desire to get closer.
Observing Ifia’s obvious disappointment, Amelia squinted her eyes. “If you like it, I can talk to the Church…”
“No need. I just find it fascinating. Let it stay here peacefully!”
Ifia interrupted Amelia before she could finish.
Although she really liked the unicorn, she didn’t want to trouble Amelia.
Despite Amelia’s ability to obtain a unicorn from the Church, having a ‘sacred beast’ would undoubtedly require significant cost and effort.
However, thinking about how Amelia always cared for her, especially recalling the set of Xero blood diamond jewelry she casually brought out earlier, Ifia couldn’t shake a growing sense of unease.
She believed it might be better to pick the lotus flower and leave early to dispel Amelia’s intentions.
In response, Ifia quickly spoke up, “Amelia, now that we’ve found the unicorn, how do we go about picking the lotus flower?”
Ifia’s abrupt change of subject was not subtle, but Amelia tactfully refrained from exposing it. Nevertheless, it was her strategy, and it seemed to be working quite well.
Admiring the clumsy Ifia, Amelia resisted the urge to shower her with affection and pretended to explain seriously, “Unicorns understand human language, we just need to follow its lead.”
“Oh, I see… Little cutie, can you take us to pick a Holy Lotus?” Ifia looked at the unicorn, and after her earnest request, the unicorn, looking quite satisfied, nodded.
With the unicorn as their guide, Ifia and Amelia quickly reached their destination.
They found a hidden entrance on the mountainside, and after walking for a while, the dark cave suddenly brightened.
The brightness increased as they walked, and eventually, they emerged into the sunlight.
They arrived in a valley, different from the expected picturesque scene of green mountains and blue waters.
This valley was filled with rugged rocks, devoid of any vegetation, with only a relatively large deep-blue lake.
In the center of the lake, blooming Holy Lotuses marked the goal of their journey.
