A Sweet Girl Won't Be Fooled By The Villainess - [Vol. 4] Chapter 82
[Vol. 4] Chapter 82: Super Strength
The sudden assault of the Misfortune Vines was fierce.
However, before the vine could strike Ifia, Amelia swiftly swung her sword, instantly severing the vine and rendering it powerless as it fell to the ground. A palm-sized section of the vine wriggled like a green insect near Ifia’s feet, struggling in vain.
Only at this moment did Ifia react, taking a few steps back in immediate horror.
Phew, that was close!
She narrowly avoided being struck by the vine.
Fortunately, with Amelia’s intervention, she managed to deflect the attack. Considering the speed and force with which the vine was swinging, Ifia might have been sent flying like a spinning top without Amelia’s timely assistance.
Angry at the thought, Ifia released Amelia’s hand, marched forward, and fiercely stomped on the still squirming vine, attempting to crush it.
However, she soon discovered that the vine was unexpectedly hard. Despite exerting all her strength, she couldn’t flatten it, and the vine maintained its original form. The wriggling force was strong enough to make Ifia lose her balance, causing her to wobble.
Luckily, Amelia had anticipated this and was waiting on the side. She promptly reached out, supporting Ifia just in time to prevent her from embarrassing herself by falling.
“Amelia, I really hate this Misfortune Vine!” Ifia exclaimed, expressing her frustration.
Unable to vent her frustration, Ifia felt increasingly annoyed. She turned to Amelia and chose to complain. She might not be able to handle it, but Amelia could! She was determined that someone had to deal with this Misfortune Vine.
When Amelia saw Ifia’s sulking expression, a hint of mischief flashed in her purple eyes. She had been contemplating how to make Ifia tend to the Misfortune Vine for seven days.
After all, any ordinary person wouldn’t willingly nurture a magical plant, let alone Ifia, who, despite being a bit clumsy, was clever in her own way. She had a natural, animal-like alertness and would surely refuse.
Luckily, there were loopholes to exploit. For example, when Ifia was angry, her rationality temporarily disappeared. This was a golden opportunity that Amelia didn’t want to miss.
Thinking about all of this, Amelia maintained a neutral expression on her face and looked at Ifia with a gentle smile, explaining, “Magical plants are not ordinary plants, so their defensive capabilities are not simple, apart from their attacking abilities.”
“Ordinary attacks won’t cause any harm unless there’s something special, like my longsword. During its forging, I added something, allowing it to easily cut through the vines,” Amelia explained.
Upon hearing that Amelia’s sword could easily handle the Misfortune Vines, Ifia’s eyes lit up. She felt that she didn’t necessarily need Amelia to do it, she could take care of it herself. This way, taking revenge personally would be even more satisfying!
“Unfortunately, Ifia, you can’t use it,” Amelia sighed regretfully, dampening Ifia’s enthusiasm.
Just as Ifia was getting ready to flex her fists, Amelia let out a sigh of regret. Ifia’s gaze shifted to Amelia’s longsword, which didn’t seem much different from an ordinary one, except for the intricately carved patterns on the hilt and the embedded gemstones. The blade, however, was shinier and sharper.
Ifia tilted her head in confusion and then looked back at Amelia, her black eyes filled with questions, as if asking why she couldn’t use it. In response, Amelia smiled, flipped her wrist, turned the hilt towards Ifia, and handed over the longsword.
“Wanna give it a try?”
Although she said that, Amelia didn’t immediately let go. Instead, she pressed the longsword downward, burying the blade about three inches into the soil. It wasn’t until Ifia nodded quickly that Amelia released her grip, leaving the longsword firmly planted in place for Ifia to handle.
Observing this, Ifia couldn’t help but raise an eyebrow. She then raised her hand seriously, preparing to pull out the longsword. Watching Amelia effortlessly insert the sword into the ground, Ifia initially thought it was no big deal.
However, after struggling to pull the sword for a while without any success, she realized there was a significant difference between individuals. At least, she couldn’t pull out Amelia’s sword, even with all her strength.
Ifia resembled a weak rabbit trying to pull a massive radish. Despite her intense desire, she found herself helpless, leading to a flushed face, accelerated breathing, and exhaustion.
(O_O)
What kind of sword was this?
So heavy!
Despite persistent attempts, Ifia ultimately chose to admit defeat. She really couldn’t pull it out…
Faced with failure, Ifia looked up at Amelia with a resentful gaze. Her pouty expression resembled that of a sulking pufferfish. Truly adorable.
Amelia smiled and tugged at Ifia’s fluffy hat, offering a straightforward explanation without keeping her in suspense.
“This sword is made with a special material that makes it extremely heavy. However, when paired with a special scabbard, the weight is temporarily sealed, making it as light as an ordinary longsword.
“At this point, even several strong men working together wouldn’t be able to lift this longsword. So, Ifia, there’s no need for disappointment, the result would be the same for anyone else.”
Okay! Although Amelia didn’t explicitly say it, Ifia picked up on the phrase ‘innate talent.’
As an ordinary person, she shouldn’t think too much about it.
Ifia lost interest in Amelia’s sword and then looked down again at the wriggling piece of vine. She was already considering having Amelia cut it into eight pieces to vent her frustration. It didn’t necessarily have to be her personally taking action, even though that might take away some of the fun. Revenge was the priority!
“However, if you want to deal with this vine personally, Ifia, there is another way.”
“What way?” Just as Ifia was convincing herself internally, she quickly heard of an alternative method, prompting her to look up at Amelia with an adorable face full of anticipation.
Amelia didn’t beat around the bush, “If you carry this piece of vine with you, it will affect your consciousness. However, as long as your willpower is strong, it won’t have any effect.”
“Even if your consciousness is truly affected, there won’t be any severe reactions. It’ll just slightly change your personality… Once the wearing time exceeds seven days, this piece of vine will completely lose its defensive capabilities. By then, even a regular dagger could cut it.”
After saying this, Amelia smiled and quickly added, “However, this method takes effect too slowly. It’s better to let me directly chop it into pieces! After all, Ifia, your willpower isn’t that strong, in case…”
“(#O_O) My willpower isn’t strong? Who said that? It’s clearly super strong!”
The queen of stubbornness was online in a second.
Although Ifia didn’t find this piece of misfortune vine amusing, upon hearing that wearing it wouldn’t jeopardize her life, only slightly affect her personality, she had no fear!
The temptation of personally seeking revenge made it impossible for Ifia to refuse. Plus, trusting Amelia greatly, Ifia chose to wear the misfortune vine.
To prevent Amelia from refusing, Ifia quickly picked up the still “wriggling” vine and gave it a slap on her wrist. The vine immediately stopped moving, obediently forming a circle and securely fastening itself.
At a glance, it looked like a black bracelet, albeit a bit ugly.
“Amelia, let me show you my willpower…”
After the victorious display, Ifia proudly lifted her chin.
Just as she was about to say something, the next second she stiffened and stood frozen in place.
The side effects of the misfortune vine had taken effect.
