After Being Kidnapped by the Crown Prince - Chapter 195
~End of chapter 194
At this hour, Zhao Zhi most of the time couldn’t fall asleep, and the servants, though they saw that the candles in his study were still lit, no one dared to go disturb him.
But a girl who was not very clear in her brain, had intentions which were not righteous.
She was a maid selected and given to Zhao Zhi by Song Huaiqing, she knew that this master’s identity was not ordinary, and she looked for several opportunities to get close to him.
Today, she was specially wearing a dress tight at the waist, which exposed a large part of her collarbone. Her posture was swaying, charming and seductive, as she brought over the tea. Her neck and ears were red, and she poured tea for the man shyly, “Gongzi, here’s your tea.”

Zhao Zhi’s long hair was tied high in a jade crown. In the faint dim candlelight, his expression was dark, and the lines of his lower jaw were chilly and sharp, as he said indifferently “mmh”.
The maid was unsatisfied in her heart, and she raised her eyes. With just one glance, she lost her soul. She was confident that she had some charms. And that it should not be too difficult to climb into his bed.
She made her voice sound delicate and coquettish, “Gongzi, the tea will get cold if you don’t drink it now.”
Zhao Zhi finally raised his face and glanced at her condescendingly, the maid’s cheeks turned hot from the look in his eyes, her ears were burning as she was kneeling on the ground, wearing a thin dress, with light gauze fabric, sticking very close to her waist and hips. She bit her lip, like she was hesitating to speak, “Gongzi.”
After a long time, Zhao Zhi slowly curled up his lips, his cold eyes were dark, and he looked at her quietly.
The maid gradually became even bolder, and dared to hold his fingers, using the same method she had been using to deal with men since primary school, “This servant will help you drink.”
She stood up, and the fragrance she smeared on her body swayed along with her movements.
Zhao Zhi pushed her away with a slap and retracted his smile. His cold gaze was like a sharp arrow, as he called his attendant in, “Drag her out.”
As soon as the doctor entered the courtyard, he heard the harsh sound of a cry, he couldn’t help but look towards the place where the cries were coming from, but was reminded by someone, “We’ve arrived.”
The doctor, shivering, withdrew his gaze, and pretended not to have heard anything, he wasn’t going to be nosy and inquire about it.
He walked into the room and just as he was about to check the man’s pulse.
Zhao Zhi’s eyebrows furrowed, and he said, “No need anymore.”
His complexion looked a little pale, “Prescribe me a few doses of calming medicine.”
How could the doctor dare inquire too much? Naturally what he said was the law. So, he immediately wrote down the prescription with a brush. Zhao Zhi took a look at the prescription, and returned it to him, before saying expressionlessly: “Change the prescription, this does not work.”
There were only a few medicinal herbs that could calm the mind.
The doctor rewrote several other prescriptions with different ingredients, but the man in front of him said that none of them worked. No longer having any solution, the doctor gathered his courage to tell him that there was nothing else.
“It looks like gongzi is overthinking. If you stop overthinking, you can get a good night’s sleep. ”
Hearing these words, Zhao Zhi didn’t have any reaction, and just ordered someone to escort the doctor back.
The doctor also wanted to leave quickly, and because he was in a hurry, his sleeves flew in the air and the few candies that Hong Ling had given him earlier rolled on the ground, making several loops.
He picked up the hawthorn candy in embarrassment and explained under the gaze of the man: “There is a woman on the outskirts of the city who gave birth tonight, and this is what her sister gave to me, to celebrate the happy event.”
Zhao Zhi hummed.
The doctor did not like to eat candies, and left it on the table for him, “You also take part in the happy event.”
The candle flame was turning dimmer as it burned, the doctor could hardly any emotion, joy or anger, on the man’s face. He just felt that he seemed to be very lonely. Zhao Zhi lowered his eyes and looked at the few childish hawthorn candies on the table, his eyes revealed a bit of mockery, as he lightly laughed.
His eyes couldn’t tolerate to see any happy event now, so he threw these candies away with a flip of his hand.
The reason he came to the temple in Yangzhou was to light an altar-lamp for his child, what did the birth of someone else’s child have to do with him? On the contrary, it pierced his heart.

Ming Zhu slept for a long time and woke up at noon the next day.
She was woken up by a baby’s cry. Hong Ling was very unfamiliar with holding a baby in her arms, and she didn’t know how to coax the baby either, “Don’t cry ah.”
The more she coaxed the baby, the louder the little one cried.
Early in the morning, the light of the day was shining into the room, Ming Zhu opened her eyelids little by little, and watched Hong Ling being busy taking care of the baby. Unable to hold back her smile, she opened her mouth, and her voice sounded particularly hoarse, as she said: “Hong Ling, bring the baby to me.”
Hong Ling looked at her in surprise, “You’re awake ah!”
Ming Zhu slowly sat up with her arms propped up and leaned against a bed pillow. Apart from the fact that her complexion looked a little white, she didn’t look very haggard, “The baby is probably hungry.”
Hong Ling gently placed the baby in her arms.
Ming Zhu untied her clothes and fed the child her milk. Sure enough, once there was something to eat, a little baby would stop crying.
She lowered her head to look at the child in her arms, and a few dazzling rays of sunlight shone through the gap in the window, illuminating her expression, making her look particularly gentle.
Hong Ling, who was clumsy with her hands and feet, did not dare to move, and spoke much softer than usual, afraid that she would disturb the baby. She said, “This child’s eyes and eyebrows really looks like you.”
Delicate and pretty.
Ming Zhu also thought so, “She does look like me.”
Hong Ling suddenly became dejected, and she pouted: “But other places don’t look like you at all.”
She must have taken after her biological father, but her biological father only had the one merit of being good-looking.
