His One Love - Chapter 22
On the last day of the refund time limit, Lu Wanwan went to the mall with Zhao Zhao and returned all the bags.
When she returned the goods, she pretended not to see the disdainful eyes of the store staff.
After returning the bags, the two people casually went into a cafe to sit down, Zhao Zhao was chewing on a straw and said, “Wanwan, the other day you asked me for the contact information of a lawyer, do you really intend to divorce Shen Yi?”
Lu Wanwan nodded: “That’s right, I have to divorce him.”
Shen Yi, that lurking little psychopath, could blacken at the drop of a hat, who could stomach it?
Zhao Zhao watched these two people getting together since high school to their wedding. She and Shen Yi weren’t very familiar, in the many years since she became acquainted with him, in total they did not exchange many words, but she felt that Shen Yi didn’t look like a scum. He did housework and usually didn’t talk much. As it seemed, he shouldn’t be the kind to go fool around.
Right now, she could not think of a reason why Lu Wanwan was so determined to get a divorce, and after a moment’s hesitation, Zhao Zhao asked, “Is it because he has no money?”
Zhao Zhao became even more curious and asked her as she looked at her, “Then for what reason?”
Lu Wanwan’s expression looked like “I’m embarrassed to say and have no way to say it”, Zhao Zhao expressed her understanding, “Okay, when we get back, you tell me on weixin. There are too many people here.”
Zhao Zhao then immediately resumed her questioning: “How do you want to divide the property? What about the house and car?”
Lu Wanwan only wanted to get rid of Shen Yi, as far as money was concerned, she didn’t have any requirements.
She took a large sip of water and slowly said, “As long as I can get a divorce, I don’t have many other requirements, moreover Shen Yi doesn’t have much money right now.”
Zhao Zhao propped up her chin, wrinkled her brow and said, “Eh, your family’s car seems to be quite valuable. If you can get your share of it, you should be able to get a lot of money in your hands.”
Shen Yi once drove to her home to pick up Lu Wanwan, that time it was already late in the evening and the street lights were dim, Zhao Zhao may have been mistaken but she felt like she recognized the car brand. It was a famous brand and the car was a limited edition.
Lu Wanwan snorted, “It’s probably worth only two or three hundred thousand.”
A car whose brand she did not even recognize certainly wasn’t worth much money.
Zhao Zhao did not think much of it and sighed, “Shen Yi, except the fact that he doesn’t have much money, no other aspect of him can be criticized.”
Lu Wanwan wanted to say something but stopped. She sighed and then said, in a secretive manner: “You ….. Ai, you wouldn’t understand.”
“Let’s stop talking about him. So have you thought about what you’re going to do after the divorce?”
If she went along the flow of the original story, the Lu family would be going bankrupt, and her reputation would hit rock-bottom.
Thinking about it, Lu Wanwan was feeling a bit alarmed in her heart. But she had hands and feet and as long as she worked hard, she could always create for herself a little place in this world.
“I want to get a job.”
Shouldn’t she be a high lady who did nothing?
“What do you want to do?” Zhao Zhao asked.
“I also don’t know ah.”
Lu Wanwan still wanted to pick up her old job as a cartoonist, but it seemed a bit difficult at the moment.
Zhao Zhao reassured her, “It’s okay, there’s no rush.”
Lu Wanwan wasn’t in the mood to continue shopping. She started wracking her brain thinking about what she could do in the future. First of all, after the bankruptcy of the Lu family, she couldn’t rely on her parents and she also couldn’t rely on her uneducated little brother.
She could only rely on herself.
Suddenly, Lu Wanwan remembered that the original body owner seemed to be a bit famous on the Internet, she relied on her makeup skills to attract a solid audience of fans. If she really couldn’t do anything else, becoming a beauty blogger and selling cosmetics didn’t seem so bad.
Just as she was lost in her thinking, an email notification popped.
Lu Wanwan unlocked her phone and took a look at it. What she received was a rejection message from the publishing house.
The editor-in-chief rejected her submission on the grounds that her drawing style did not match their standards.
This was one message of rejection among all the other ones that Lu Wanwan received several days in a row. Her heart shattered in pieces like glass.
In the evening, Shen Yi drove to the mall to pick her up and found that her expression did not look too good. He asked softly, “You’re upset?”
Lu Wanwan had no way to tell him about the rejection of her draft, so she lowered her head and didn’t say a word.
She didn’t even eat dinner, went straight back to her bedroom and hid under the covers. Angry and feeling stuffy, she started crying.
Shen Yi stood by the door. On the middle of the bed, a small ball was arched up inside the blanket, and the low sobbing sound seemed like it was stroking the strings of his heart.
He didn’t want to see her being sad.
Lu Wanwan was in a much better mood after crying, it’s just that her eyes were still a little red. Shen Yi had already made dinner. Smelling the aroma of the meal, she suddenly felt that it was not that big of a deal to have her draft rejected.
After eating dinner, she sat on the couch watching TV as usual.
