We are back with a new (old?) novel. Reincarnated Princess Wishes To Avoid Death is a medieval fantasy story focused on a certain princess who is trying to avoid a grisly fate while leading the continent to a brighter future. The story leans more on comedy, but it has a dash of drama, politics and character development. The worldbuilding is really well done and most of the characters are likeable. Please give it a try.

At night, Gu Ren was sitting in his study reading the script. After a long time, Gu Ren got up and went out.

The lights were brightly lit in the hallway outside. Suddenly, Gu Ren heard a loud “bang” and all the lights suddenly turned off.

The lights went out.

Gu Ren stood frozen in place. He knew that it was a power failure. Right immediately, his body had turned stiff and tense. He suffered from night blindness. If there was no light, he couldn’t see.

Gu Ren reached out his hand and was ready to fumble back to the room.

Crash!

Gu Ren accidentally ran into a vase and even before he could catch it, the vase fell to the ground, making a crisp sound as it shattered into pieces.

Gu Ren withdrew his hand. His hand was trembling.

He shut his eyes. He knew that he had night blindness so he was at a loss on what to do.

At this moment, Ye Zhi was sleeping in her room. However, somehow, she felt a little restless tonight. She opened her eyes and looked at the ceiling dazedly.

Lying in a daze, she was about to close her eyes again when a loud crash sounded, instantly jolting up her senses. The sound seemed to come from the other side of the corridor. Ye Zhi immediately shot up from the bed and rushed outside.

She opened the door and pressed the switch but the light didn’t turn on. It turned out that there was a power outage.

Ye Zhi walked in the direction of the sound and whispered, “Gu Ren?”

The corridor was narrow and quiet. The house was empty and the voice of Ye Zhi fell into the emptiness, and soon disappeared.

No one answered her.

Ye Zhi suddenly felt that living in such a large house was a bit troublesome. Because the house was too big, it took a long time for her to go to the other end.

Ye Zhi didn’t think about it anymore. Her slippers rubbed against the floor and slowly moved forward.

After a while, Ye Zhi stopped and squinted her eyes to adjust her vision and take a better look. A figure seemed to be standing alone in the dark. He was tall and slender with a cold outline drawn by the night.

Perhaps the night was too quiet and dark, his figure looked particularly cold and distant. At his feet, fragments of vases were scattered.

The window was not completely closed. The curtains were a little tilted, exposing a very small gap where moonlight passes through, giving a little light to the darkness. Ye Zhi saw the face of the man.

Gu Ren just stood there quietly with his eyes closed and a dull face .

Ye Zhi called out,: “Gu Ren, is that you?”

After a few seconds, Gu Ren’s cold voice reverberated in the darkness, “It’s me.”

Ye Zhi asked, “Why don’t you go back to the room?”

Gu Ren kept silent for a few seconds. Finally, his cold voice sounded and slowly reached Ye Zhi’s ear, “It’s too dark.”

Ye Zhi found it strange. She was just about to ask why.

At this moment, Gu Ren’s voice suddenly sounded in the night breaking the silence, “I have night blindness.”

His tone continued to be bland, “From birth.”

Gu Ren’s voice seemed calm but it was a little tense, “Since it’s dark, I can’t see anything.”

He had night blindness. Only his parents and agent knew about it. But now Ye Zhi was the fourth one to know.

The surroundings suddenly quieted down. Ye Zhi was also silent. She didn’t know that Gu Ren had night blindness. There were no previous rumours that Gu Ren had night blindness.

They all knew that Gu Ren was a movie emperor and a top superstar.

However, nobody knew that under Gu Ren’s seemingly perfect appearance, he would also panic. There were also times when he felt helpless and anxious.

Ye Zhi thought for a while and said, “You wait for me.”

Then she turned around and walked back.

In the dark, Gu Ren heard the footsteps of Ye Zhi stepping on the ground. He heard the sound of Ye Zhi opening the curtain. He also heard the sound of footsteps approaching.

He knew that she was approaching him. Because of the silence, even the subtle sounds were amplified.

When Ye Zhi returned to Gu Ren, she asked softly, “I’ve pulled all the curtains open. Can you see now?”

Her voice was a little strained.
