Chapter 440: Fragrant Dreams, Childhood Dreams
The sweltering July passed with a bang, amidst the grumbling of the old man Time.
If June was the month when the cafe just started and Ouyang Xue worked hard to solidify and expand the popularity we painstakingly built in May, then July was the month where it was truly “Nuo’er’s Reign.”
This month, I made a great effort to carry on Ouyang Xue’s spirit, striving to perfect the “details” of the cafe.
Outdoors, the most surprising aspect for everyone was the attention to detail in our shop.
A cafe, especially one with “cat café” and “maid” attributes, located near a tourist spot, relies heavily on first impressions.
This July, I expanded the snack offerings and designed many free snack areas. Although this indeed increased the cafe’s expenses, we won the reputation battle completely.
There are hardly any negative comments about the cafe online now. At most, some netizens complain about not being accustomed to the local food or say that the cats in the cafe are too mischievous.
These two issues aren’t something I can address at the moment—some regions like very spicy food, adding a big spoonful of chili sauce to white rice for comfort, and even think Shenzhen’s chili sauce isn’t spicy enough, while other places can’t handle any spice at all and prefer sweet food. For example, spicy dishes like spicy chicken might receive poor reviews from them, and there’s nothing I can do about that.
As for the cats, it’s even more complicated. I can’t switch to cat-girl mode every time a customer comes in and give orders to the cats to “serve the customer well.”
However, as an older guy who has been “surviving on his own” since childhood, I’ve long been accustomed to these phenomena.
We can never please everyone, so it’s enough to act with a clear conscience.

“Nuo’er! Are you free?”
That afternoon, during a break, Fei Luo from the Little Bird Leisure Bar found me.
“Gabriel said she has figured out the specific techniques for making satellites and computers and even tried building a lithography machine in Shenzhen, and succeeded. If all goes well, creating a computer shouldn’t be a problem.”
Fei Luo lowered her voice, “We have magic and some unique materials, so the first-generation computers in Shenzhen might be much smaller than Earth’s, and their performance could be a hundred times better than the best civilian computers here.”
“That’s impressive…”
I remarked, “Have you been focusing on this while you were in the Americas?”
In July and August, Gabriel and Fei Luo changed their daily schedule from partying in various human cities to studying advanced human knowledge in the Americas and Europe.
It’s said that for a few days, they even stole someone else’s lithography machine to study it before returning it. I can only imagine how much shock it caused the leaders of those developed countries.
When the lithography machines and other top-secret equipment suddenly disappeared, and there were no clues in the surveillance cameras, everyone probably thought they were dealing with a supernatural phenomenon.
“Yeah, we went back a few days ago to check out Momo’s country, Diwutith… I knew that country belonged to her.”
Fei Luo made a face of exasperation. “At first, I thought the altar was something she secretly set up underground in another country, but it turns out the leaders behind the whole nation are you guys. We’ve known each other for thousands of years, and you didn’t even inform us about this. It’s not very loyal.”
“You should be able to understand why I didn’t tell you.”
Xiao Mo, yawning, added, “You’re not as foolish as Nuo’er, after all.”
“Hey!”
I turned around instinctively. “How am I foolish again?”
“Understood. It’s not that you wanted your queen to personally defeat the demon lord in front of a bunch of heroes and then celebrate Diwutith’s great achievements, right?”
Fei Luo shrugged. “You’re worried that Gabriel and I might not keep our mouths shut or that we might not perform well, aren’t you?”
Xiao Mo remained noncommittal. “You have a history of issues in this area.”
Ugh, these guys are being cryptic again.
I covered my stomach in displeasure and went to pour myself some water.
“The preparatory work is almost done, and the dragon clan has agreed to help us set up the base stations. However, Gabriel mentioned she needs to borrow some of Diwutith’s basic equipment and also needs a few assistants from you…”
As Fei Luo spoke, she seemed to notice that I looked a bit weak. “What’s wrong with Nuo’er?”
“Period.”
Xiao Mo said without any hesitation, “It’s a normal physiological phenomenon for women.”
I was taking a sip of hot water when I suddenly spit it out with a “pfft” sound.
“Couldn’t you be a bit more tactful about it?”
“Wow!”
Fei Luo looked surprised, as if saying, ‘Is that possible?’
“Isn’t Nuo’er a product of forbidden magic?”
“I’m not sure of the specifics. I left that part of the memory with the ‘main body.'”
Xiao Mo said calmly, “But I actually quite like this setting. Having a period means she can conceive. I’m planning to wait until Nuo’er grows a bit older and see if she can give birth to our child.”
“……”
Unable to hold back any longer, I set down my cup, strode over to Xiao Mo, grabbed her snow-white wrist, and then… bit down on it.
“Ouch—”
Xiao Mo’s mouth twitched slightly. “See, you’re being tsundere.”
I increased the pressure of my bite with my sharp canines.
“Ow ow ow… Be gentle, Nuo’er, it really hurts!”
“I don’t care, this is punishment! I’m already feeling unwell today, and you’re still making fun of me!”
“Isn’t this a qualification of you as a wife?”
“I’m not a wife, I’m an uncle!”
“……”
“Ahem…”
Fei Luo cleared her throat.
“Anyway, I won’t get involved in your couple matters. What I mean is, when Gabriel and I finish work in the evening, we might need to use Momo’s teleportation circle to return to Diwutith. Then, you’ll need to find a few sharp assistants to help us. It doesn’t matter if they’re smart, as long as they absolutely obey us and are willing to do hard work. Gabriel will first set up the television, then the computer, aiming to reach mass production levels within half a month. During this time, Momo, you should prepare to build a factory domestically.”
“No problem.”
Xiao Mo, who was still being bitten, turned around. “Building the factory is easy, I’ll have the Dark Legion handle it. If necessary, we can even use some non-tiring skeletons as workers.”
“Alright, Gabriel will be responsible for making the televisions and computers first, and then the phones. Once the phones are mass-produced, our satellites should also be ready to launch, and the Dragon Clan’s base stations should be completed.”
Fei Luo turned around. “In that case, I won’t disturb you two anymore. I’m heading back.”
“Mm.”
I released my bite.
“When the internet is officially announced, and we explain about phones, televisions, and computers, Nuo’er , you should handle it. It will make up for the demon king incident. Once computers and phones are widespread, Queen Diwutith’s reputation should be almost as high as defeating the demon king…”
“Ding ding ding—”
As I was speaking, my phone in the pocket of my skirt rang.
“Sister Nuo’er!”
As soon as I pressed the answer button, a familiar little girl’s voice came through the phone—
“Do you remember me? Lu Xinmeng. I’m feeling better now. The doctor said my heart is perfectly functioning and there’s no rejection. The stitches were just removed this morning, and as soon as they were out, I called my dad over.”
“I’m now right at the cafe entrance!”
“……”
