After learning that she was no longer going to be moving, our little Han-Ye Nianyi was overjoyed and immediately asked Han Feixu if she could invite her friends over to play this Sunday. She had visited several classmates’ homes before, but because Han Feixu had mentioned they might be moving, Yiyi considered her home a temporary one and hadn’t invited anyone over before.

Han Feixu thought for a moment, “Sure, you can have friends over, but Mommy and I have to work. How about we ask grandma and grandpa to entertain your friends? Is that okay?”

Yiyi agreed without hesitation and then looked at her mother with anticipation, “Then Mama, where can we play?”

She actually wanted to ask if they could play in the attic and the home theater, but she knew better than to ask directly, fearing her mother might disagree. So, she decided to feel out Han Feixu’s stance first.

Han Feixu saw through her little scheme immediately, but she was in a good mood today and more lenient with Yiyi, “You can play anywhere except in your mommy’s and my room. How about I also hire a children’s party planning company? How does that sound?”

Yiyi cheered and bounced off the bed, hugging Han Feixu’s neck with an energy that almost overwhelmed her, “I love you, Mama!”

Then, Yiyi made many more requests for the party, like a huge trampoline, and lunch catered from outside because she didn’t think the housekeeper’s cooking was tasty enough, and so on.

Anything she could agree to, Han Feixu agreed. Even if she initially disagreed, under the barrage of Yiyi’s sweet words, she had no choice but to agree. After coming out of Yiyi’s room, Han Feixu closed the door and fell into thought.

Why did she suddenly feel like a rich and naive tycoon who was suddenly conned out of their money by a cunning little gremlin named Yiyi?

In short, the party was held as scheduled and it turned out to be an entire day of fun. Some children were brought by their parents, while others arrived with drivers or maids. Though there were fewer than ten children, over twenty adults came along, making their house busier than ever. It was so lively and unusual that their next-door neighbor was scared by the noise and stayed indoors all day, wary of the unfamiliar guests and possible bugs they might bring.

By 4 PM, the guests had left. Yiyi was ecstatic about all the fun. By the time Han Feixu and Ye Mingxin returned home around 7 PM, she was still buzzing with excitement.

The next day, however, her extreme joy turned into extreme sorrow.

She had played too hard the day before, running around outside with the other children. Yan Yureong had worried over her catching a cold at the time and so she had dressed Yiyi in a thick sweater. But after playing for a while, Yiyi started sweating profusely due to the thick sweat but didn’t pay attention to it as she allowed the chilly wind to dry out her seat.

The next day, she caught a cold.

Thankfully, she didn’t have a fever, just a runny nose and the occasional cough. Han Feixu took leave to watch over her. By the next morning, Yiyi was sitting in the living room, clutching a big pack of tissues and frequently pulling them out to blow her nose.

After checking Yiyi’s temperature again with an infrared thermometer, Han Feixu sternly said, “No fever, but you need to eat some medicine.”

Hearing this, Yiyi looked up with a helpless, pitiful expression.

“Can I not eat the medicine…” Yiyi asked pitifully.

Han Feixu replied without mercy, “No. Dr. Zhang will come to examine you soon. Whatever she prescribes, you must take. She’ll be here in half an hour. Mommy and I are going to work now. Be good, listen to Auntie Li, and don’t go outside or eat any sugary snacks, okay?”

Yiyi was relieved to hear they were leaving and Auntie Li was much more lenient than the two of them. With some charm and pleading, she could probably get away with taking less medicine.

Ye Mingxin, as if reading her thoughts, smiled gently, “Don’t worry, we’ll be back by noon to make sure you’ve taken your medicine before we leave again.”

Yiyi: “…..” Mommy is so mean QAQ.

Since it was flu season and they hadn’t seen the other kids yesterday, they didn’t know if Yiyi had a common cold or the flu and didn’t want to take any chances. Zhang Rui is a doctor from a major hospital and is quite proficient at diagnosing these things. Having her come over was more reassuring than taking Yiyi to the hospital.

Both parents were preoccupied with thoughts of Yiyi’s illness while filming that morning. They only relaxed slightly after Dr. Zhang called to say it was just a common cold, but Yiyi, being a young child with low immunity, might be sick for three to five days. As long as she didn’t develop a fever, there was no major concern.

True to Dr. Zhang’s words, Yiyi’s cold still didn’t improve even after three days. Sitting at the dining table, Han Feixu looked worriedly at her, “Why isn’t she getting any better?”

Ye Mingxin, wearing a white high-neck thin sweater, also turned her attention to Yiyi, who met their gaze with an innocent look.

Yiyi thought to herself: Why are you both looking at me? It’s not like I wanted to catch a cold. It’s the cold, that little bad guy, that found me first QAQ.

Two days later, Han Feixu was scheduled to attend a high-end fashion show. The organizer, Pinko, was one of the brands she often wore. They had noticed her frequent public appearances in their clothing and had sent her an invitation to the show.

There are different types of invitations. Celebrities usually receive an invitation to watch the show from

regular seats, but Han Feixu received a VIP invitation to sit alongside the organizers. According to Liang Zhu, this was a signal that as long as she went and had a good chat with the organizers, the brand’s endorsements would likely be hers.

Han Feixu usually didn’t attend such events, but Liang Zhu insisted that she needed a reputable endorsement to complete her portfolio. After a constant barrage of propaganda from Liang Zhu, Han Feixu was finally convinced that she needed to secure a luxury brand endorsement to feel satisfied.

After leaving the film set, she planned to head straight to the fashion show.

She removed her film makeup and immediately reapplied a heavier, more fashionable look in line with the aesthetics of the fashion industry. Zhong Yuanyuan had also prepared a dress for Han Feixu to change into.

Ye Mingxin, having finished removing her costume and makeup, was ready to leave. She came over to take a look, and Han Feixu quickly reminded her, “Don’t forget to give Yiyi her medicine and check her temperature before bed.”

“I know. Where will you be having dinner?”

“In the car. There’s food in the thermos.”

Ye Mingxin nodded slightly, “Then I’ll head back first.”

Just before leaving, Ye Mingxin paused, turned back, and gestured toward Zhong Yuanyuan, pointing at her phone.

Zhong Yuanyuan immediately understood and smiled, giving her an ‘OK’ sign with her hand.

That’s right, she was still taking photos of Han Feixu for Ye Mingxin. Zhong Yuanyuan was getting quite good at it. Each time she took a photo, Ye Mingxin paid her a few thousand yuan as a reward. This has become a major source of income for her, and with a few more photos she’ll earn enough money to be equivalent to a part-time job.

After setting up the camera app to ensure she could snap photos instantly upon opening her phone, she tucked it back into her pocket. She then unwrapped the dress she brought and examined it.

This time the dress is an off-the-shoulder black drape gown. The lower part of the dress is plain black, while the upper half is adorned with regularly spaced small dots. Made of stiff fabric, the gown maintains a strong three-dimensional shape even when hanging on a hanger.

Looking at the gown, Zhong Yuanyuan felt a little regret. It would take her dozens or even hundreds of those photos to afford a high-end gown like this. For Han Feixu, however, such dresses were one-time wear. She only wore each one once before letting them gather dust at home or occasionally donating them when the opportunity arose.

Although it wasn’t her money being spent, Zhong Yuanyuan still felt a pang of heartache.

After finishing her makeup and changing into the dress, Han Feixu hurriedly got into the car. Ye Mingxin’s car had been fully handed over to her, and it was now filled with all of her belongings. As Han Feixu searched in the car for her dinner, Zhong Yuanyuan shared her thoughts about the dress.

Surprised, Han Feixu looked up while taking out her dinner, “Donate? I haven’t donated any of my dresses, I’m still wearing them. Why would I donate such nice clothes?”

Zhong Yuanyuan was also taken aback, “But I’m with you every day, and I’ve never seen you wear an outfit twice.”

“That’s because Liang-jie told me that clothes worn on red carpets and at events cannot be worn a second time. So I never wear them to my work events, but at home I wear them when I can’t find anything else.”

“….Wouldn’t it be kinda weird to wear such fancy dresses at home?”

Han Feixu fell silent at the question. Of course, it was strange. For other brands, it might be manageable to wear their outfits casually, but for brands like Pinko, their clothes were a bit too extravagant and fancy for everyday wear. Han Feixu even considered canceling her annual fixed orders from another particular brand whose designs had become excessively flamboyant ever since they changed their designer.

Upon arriving at the fashion show, she was escorted to her seat in the front row, right next to the organizers. Not long after she settled in, she paused in her tracks.

Han Yiren was standing in front of her, apparently also invited to attend as a celebrity guest.

Han Yiren seemed taken aback to see Han Feixu as well, but quickly averted her gaze, pretending to not know her.

That suited Han Feixu just fine, she had no desire to speak with her either.

Passing by Han Yiren to reach her seat in the first row, Han Feixu quickly adjusted her emotions and her face as she warmly greeted the organizers. Everyone was cordial to each other, even though nobody actually knew each other = =

The designer is Italian, the branch manager is French, and only the deputy manager is Chinese. Han Feixu listened to a string of conversations in the many different foreign languages she couldn’t understand, forcing a smile until she finally heard the deputy manager’s “please sit” in Chinese.

Han Feixu sat down gracefully and, out of habit, glanced around. To her surprise, she spotted another acquaintance.

To her left were the branch manager and the designer, and to her right was the deputy manager, but when the designer left to check on the models backstage she realized that sitting beside him was Chloe.

Chloe’s gaze was fixed on the runway. Han Feixu looked at her for a second and then swiftly averted her eyes, choosing to stop looking at her.

Chloe keept her eyes forward, but could still see Han Feixu in her peripheral vision. Noticing Han Feixu’s reaction, her lips flattened into a straight line, but she maintained a neutral expression.

As the Chief Editor of Marie Claire, a high-end fashion magazine, Chole has often collaborated with Pinko. Furthermore, the branch manager of their Chinese branch is also French, like Chloe, so they feel a connection with Marie Claire as fellow countrymen. Therefore, Pinko had entrusted Chole with the rights to advertise their show in her magazine.

Of course, they haven’t officially signed a contract yet, but it’s almost certain there won’t be any changes this time.

When Han Feixu asked the deputy branch manager why Chloe was there, he happily told her all this. They also told her they chose Han Feixu after doing some research and found that Han Feixu was a perfect fit as their spokesperson for their new lineup this season. As someone who has worn their brand many times in public and is seen as a long-time major customer, they chose Han Feixu over other celebrities who simply wear their clothes because they want an endorsement deal.

Han Feixu didn’t have the heart to tell him that she also often wore their clothes mainly to compete for endorsement rights as well and that her favorite brand was actually Valentino = =

Someone came looking for the deputy branch manager, so he had to leave her behind. Sitting in the front row with her were mainly foreigners and a few of them could speak Chinese, but most of them were sitting far away from Han Feixu. So, with no one to talk to, she quietly sat in her seat and made some calculations.

It seems that after this high-end show, Pinko will be ready to discuss an endorsement deal with her. If she tells Liang Zhu now that she doesn’t want the endorsement anymore, would Liang Zhu explode in anger?

After thinking for barely two seconds, Han Feixu inwardly nodded. Yes, Liang Zhu definitely would, and she would explode in such a way that she would also be torn into pieces.

Luxury brands typically advertise in magazines, and while universally recognized luxury brands like Chanel and Dior buy the cover pages, those specializing in high-end clothing usually purchase inner pages, and usually just one or two pages are enough for them.

However, that is only the case for normal magazines, albeit well-known ones with good sales figures. Pinko had already bought inner page advertisements for those magazines, but only Marie Claire was given the honor of a multi-page spread. This meant that seven or eight consecutive pages of Marie Claire would feature their products.

Han Feixu had never endorsed a luxury brand before and didn’t know exactly how to handle such big endorsements. But from what she does remember, if a brand bought a multi-page advertisement, then in addition to the brand itself, the magazines would also conduct exclusive interviews with the designers and then an interview about the brand’s appeal with the brand’s spokesperson.

Does that mean… she would have to collaborate with the people from Marie Claire again?

In the end, doesn’t that mean she might still have to work with Chloe?

Han Feixu’s thoughts were rather naive. There was no ‘maybe’ about Chole being involved. For such an important advertising campaign, Chloe was definitely going to be involved throughout.

The show began, but no matter how beautiful the models were, Han Feixu had long lost interest in watching them. She just wanted the show to end quickly so she could go home. If she stayed any longer, she was afraid the people from Pink would try to introduce her to Chloe.

But, as Murphy’s Law states, anything that can go wrong, will go wrong.

At the end of the show, the branch manager finally remembered that these two were going to collaborate in the future and he enthusiastically turned to speak to her in French, which Han Feixu couldn’t understand, but she got the gist as he kept pointing at her and Chloe.

Han Feixu’s smile faded a lot under the branch manager’s enthusiastic urging. Chloe nodded at Han Feixu with a smile, but that was the extent of their interaction.

Ah, that feeling is surfacing again.

That feeling of guilt with a touch of anger welled up in her heart. The longer the time passed, the more guilt she felt, while the anger slowly dissipated.

She had always lived her life upright and had never done anything dishonorable. However, in Chloe’s case, she always felt like she was doing something wrong.

Chloe kept her promise she made to Ye Mingxin not to have any interaction with Han Feixu and she left quickly after the branch manager finished talking.

Han Feixu sighed and made her way outside.

People entered the venue one by one, but they all crowded together when leaving. Zhong Yuanyuan and Liang Zhu quickly found Han Feixu before having to escort her out.

Liang Zhu had arrived three hours earlier to gauge if they could secure the endorsement. The general vibe was positive, but she still needed to ask Han Feixu, who had been sitting with the top managers for over three hours and surely had more accurate information.

She wanted to ask right there, but the place was too crowded, so she decided to wait until they were outside.

As the crowd slowly dispersed, Han Feixu followed the flow and slowly moved towards the exit. Suddenly, the crowd ahead stopped moving, and several people were pushed together into a ball at the sudden stop.

Han Feixu looked up and saw about five or six people, men and women. They were holding something in their hands. She squinted and realized they were holding eggs.

….So throwing eggs at people you hate actually occurs in real life! She just thought that only happened in comedy movies!

And these people didn’t come to cause trouble out of boredom. They had one clear target: Han Yiren.

Han Yiren, standing to the left and in front of Han Feixu, tried to back away when she realized they were targeting her, but it was too late. They had brought projectiles after all.

The eggs hit Han Yiren’s clothes and one even landed on her shoulder. The surrounding crowd, consisting of celebrities and fashion industry people, all dressed neatly, naturally didn’t want to get any eggs on themselves. Some of the celebrities in particular, the ones who had rented their outfits, wanted to stay as far away as possible, as it would cost them money if their rented outfits were stained.

The chaos happened so quickly that the staff didn’t have time to react. They had rushed forward to stop it, but because everyone was crowded together and in a panic, it was difficult to stop the troublemakers even if they wanted to.

Two eggs had hit Han Yiren’s clothes and one had hit her shoulder. Eggs can become deadly weapons, but although the pain of getting hit was uncomfortable, she was more focused on the unbearable humiliation that came with it.

Aside from Han Yiren’s assistant, no one else moved to help her. Of course, the main reason was that they didn’t want to get caught in the crossfire or get egg liquid all over them, but they also knew about her broken reputation and dying popularity. The last two reasons directly caused this current embarrassing situation.

With no one in a hurry to stop them, the troublemakers took the opportunity to thoroughly humiliate Han Yiren. At this moment, Han Yiren had retreated towards Han Feixu’s direction. Her face and head were covered in egg liquid that continued to drip down her body. She had worn a light, white dress for this event and now that it was wet, one could almost see her underwear.

Seeing another egg flying towards Han Yiren, Han Feixu got angry. Ignoring Liang Zhu, who was trying to pull her back, she stepped forward and reached out to catch the egg.

She had intended to catch the egg and throw it back. However, the egg was too fragile, and she gripped it too hard, causing it to break in her hand. Since it was already broken, she didn’t hold back her strength and squeezed her fist tightly, and the egg broke into pieces with even the yellow yolk being broken in two.

Egg white and yolk oozed from her hand, dripping onto the ground about twenty centimeters away. She clenched her fist and angrily glared at the troublemakers.

“Go ahead, throw another one, and I’ll sue you for assault, attempting to harm my physical and mental safety, and infringing upon my reputation! Don’t think I’m bluffing; the last thing I lack is money to hire lawyers!”

Last week, Section Chief Shen said that Han Feixu could be quite terrifying when angry, to the point that it looked like she would devour someone with her anger. Although she currently wasn’t that angry, she was certainly fearsome enough. In the gazes of the crowd around her….were terrified as they looked at Han Feixu. They felt like they were looking at someone who was about to get violent and hit someone in the next moment.

Seizing the opportunity, the staff and security pushed through the crowd, and the troublemakers quickly retreated. From this point of view, it seemed like they were scared off by Han Feixu.

The staff slowly regained order, while Zhong Yuanyuan and Liang Zhu rushed to Han Feixu’s side. Amid their various frantic and worried voices, Han Feixu focused on her hand.

She glanced at her hands with disgust. They were covered in disgusting egg liquid.

Zhong Yuanyuan pulled out a wet wipe from her bag and hurriedly cleaned her hand. Han Feixu raised her eyes and saw Han Yiren, surrounded by staff, looking shocked and distressed. The staff were all anxious, repeatedly asking if she was okay, but she was just staring intensely at Han Feixu.

Han Feixu returned her stare with her own indifferent gaze and then turned to leave with Liang Zhu.

Once in the car, Liang Zhu scolded her, “How many times have I told you not to be impulsive? Why did you need to stand out like that?! What if they had something other than eggs? What if you got hit, especially in the face? I know you meant well, but look at who you protected – Han Yiren, that bit*h! I wouldn’t even care if she was beaten half to death! At most, I would’ve just called an ambulance!”

Han Feixu: “….”

Now calmer than before, she whispered, “I just couldn’t stand by and watch. Public egg-throwing is just too despicable.”

Liang Zhu knew Han Feixu wasn’t wrong, but the public wouldn’t see it that way. They see what they want to see and believe what they want to believe. Wait and see, Han Feixu would definitely make the second spot on the trending searches today.

After thinking for a while, she patted Little South, who was their driver today, “Take us back to the company first and then drive us home.”

Han Feixu was confused, “Why are we going to the company at this late hour?”

Liang Zhu looked at her incredulously, “Because of you! I have to control the comments and buy the news in your favor. I need to shift public attention to your act of bravery. If your competitors see this, they’ll just label you as an arrogant, violent, and threatening person. Then it’ll just become another black mark against you.”

Han Feixu, knowing she was in the wrong, could only lower her head in disbelief.
