If I Have You, What More Could I Ask For In This Life? - Chapter 5.1
Translated by: Cherry
The day Yisheng officially started work was on Children’s day. She was quite unlucky. That day, it was raining heavily and Yisheng was carrying a small blue floral umbrella and walking on the main street that had very few people. The small parasol covered her face and she only wanted to walk quickly. She kept walking North, and she had to pass by Ling Tian estate. She had just passed by the main entrance of the estate when a Mercedes Bentley drove past her from behind, causing a large splash that all landed on her dress. Her whole back was drenched and she wanted to scream. However, she was too late and could only watch as that car sped off.
She stared at the Mercedes Bentley, remembering his car plate number, 88888. This number was too easy to remember. If there was a car accident, one would only need to take a glance to remember this number. However, this sort of easy to remember and was an auspicious number that was definitely bought with money, and it was definitely bought at a high price. Yisheng took another look at this estate, it was a luxurious area.
“Beep beep…” Yisheng wanted to continue walking forward when an Audi Q7 stopped behind her, honking at her. Yisheng turned around to look at the driver’s seat. She saw Yan Heng who was smiling brilliantly at her, exposing his row of white teeth, “Beautiful, can you give me the honor of giving you a ride?”
Yisheng chuckled. Her depressed mood from getting splashed by water just now completely disappeared. She got onto his car and smiled, “Senior, what a coincidence.”
Yan Heng smiled, starting up the car to drive towards the Third Hospital. On the way there, Yan Heng casually asked, “Have you eaten breakfast yet?”
Yisheng was stunned for a moment, “No.” Normally, she would not wake up naturally until nine. Even though it was the first day of work, she had woken up due to her alarm but kept refusing to leave the bed until almost 7.30. Naturally, she did not have the time to cook breakfast. It was also raining heavily today, and there was no chance of her buying breakfast. Yisheng had long gotten used to the life of staying hungry for one meal, and eating till she was full for the next.
“I knew it,” Yan Heng pulled out a packet of milk and two hard-boiled eggs from a compartment in his car, “Here, it’s both light on your stomach and nutritious, it’ll definitely fill your stomach up.”
Yisheng was slightly stunned and accepted the breakfast offered, hesitating as she did it. She smiled unnaturally, “Senior is so thoughtful, always doing so much for others.”
“I’m not as thoughtful as you say I am. You’re an exception,” Yan Heng’s gaze suddenly turned serious, his tone was casual, making it hard for others to tell if he was joking or serious.
Yisheng was peeling the eggs and did not take his words to heart. She simply felt that her senior had treated her well the whole time she had known him and would always take care of her. She had never wondered about whether she was taking such actions for granted. She ate the eggs as she drank her milk. She was not done eating when they reached the Third Hospital.
Yan Heng turned off his engine, quietly sitting on the seat to wait for Yisheng to finish eating her food. Yisheng saw that her senior was waiting for her and she hurried to swallow her second egg in one bite. Yan Heng looked at her with his dark eyes. Looking at her bulging cheeks, he did not know whether to laugh or to cry.
“Senior, hurry, hurry,” Yisheng looked at her watch. It was almost forty-five. They were going to be late in fifteen minutes. She hurriedly got off the car. Yan Heng continued to sit in the car, using his eyes that were as dark as ink to glare at Yisheng’s dress. He could not help but laugh as he thought about the yellow wet area on Yisheng’s back that just happened to be at a place that would cause others to mistake it for something else.
Yisheng saw that Yan Heng was taking a long time and patted the car window from outside the car, “Senior, I’ll go and report in first. You should hurry too.” After she said that, she ran into the hospital. Yan Heng felt helpless and amused, he put his hand on his forehead. His little junior really had no conscience.
The Third Hospital’s new main building had a total of 27 floors. Yisheng was holding the nurse reporting card that Yan Heng had passed to her. She went to the sixteenth floor to find the Head Nurse. The Head Nurse was a plump woman who was in her forties, a notable feature was her rose-red lipstick, which caused people to feel that she looked a little stern. The Head Nurse looked at her reporting card and looked her up and down again, seeming to be a little curious about her.
Her face that had originally looked stern instantly turned into a smile, “Ye Yisheng?”
“Yes,” Yisheng felt that it was a little strange. She then saw the Head Nurse smile and say, “Which department do you want to go to?”
“Ah?” Yisheng was even more confused, she could choose her department herself? The Head Nurse hurriedly explained, “Every department had a lack of staff, you can go to any department you want.”
So it was like that. Yisheng nodded her head in realization, since she could pick, she said, “Then I want to go to the surgical department.”
Yisheng looked at the Head Nurse, confused. Only then did the Head Nurse realize that she had said the wrong thing. She explained, “The surgical department is good, the surgical department is good.”
The Head Nurse then said again, “You can go to the oncology department.”
“Alright,” After Yisheng thanked her, she went to the logistics department to get her nurse uniform and officially started her first day of work.
