[Vol. 1] Chapter 12: Wanting a Hug

Inside the boys’ dormitory, Wang Shaojun paced back and forth incessantly.

“Wang Shaojun, could you please stop pacing around? You’re disrupting my conversation with the junior.” Zhang Wenze lay on his bed, addressing Wang Shaojun.

“Brother Zhang, my gut tells me danger is getting closer to me. Could it be that after Brother Yue was devoured, his vengeful spirit is coming to claim my life?”

After hearing this, Zhang Wenze looked at Wang Shaojun as if he were crazy, then hurled a pillow at him, hitting Wang Shaojun’s face.

“Wang Shaojun, have you lost your mind? How could such a thing be possible? He’s probably gone somewhere to have fun.”

But that guy Yinyue had indeed been missing for half a day after their encounter in the cafeteria. Normally, at this hour, Yinyue would have already brushed his teeth and be getting ready for bed. He was someone who loved to sleep.

Could it really be true what Wang Shaojun said, that he had been completely devoured by that young lady from the Xiao family? Although Wang Shaojun was often unreliable, his predictions about danger were usually accurate.

At that moment, there came a knock on the door, startling Wang Shaojun, who quickly hid under his blanket, trembling inside.

“Tch, you’re such a coward.”

Zhang Wenze said as he climbed down from his bed and approached the door to see who it was. Upon opening the door, Zhang Wenze let out a scream.

“Ghost!”

Hearing Zhang Wenze’s scream, Wang Shaojun, hiding under the blanket, was now drenched in sweat.

What should he do? Has Yinyue’s vengeful spirit really come for him?

Suddenly, Wang Shaojun felt someone touching the blanket, which only added to his fear. He clutched the blanket tightly, muttering incessantly for the monsters and demons to leave him alone.

In the end, Wang Shaojun’s blanket was still lifted.

When Wang Shaojun opened his eyes, a pale-faced “female ghost” stood in front of him.

“Huh? Brother Yue, how come you’ve become a female ghost?”

The “female ghost” fiercely pounded Wang Shaojun’s head.

“Who are you calling a female ghost?”

Wang Shaojun took a closer look and realized it was a long-haired “girl” wearing a face mask.

“Oh, it’s Brother Xia. You could have just come in without knocking on the door! You scared me.” Zhang Wenze chimed in, finding amusement in the situation.

Xia Qi’er, along with Yinyue, Wang Shaojun, and Zhang Wenze, were known as the Four Talented Scholars of Building 2, Room 311. Well, actually, Wang Shaojun came up with this title as a joke, and Yinyue even criticized it.

Xia Qi’er was a cross-dressing enthusiast, and he was quite beautiful himself, even keeping long hair for it.

“I couldn’t, I had skincare products in my hands. It wasn’t convenient to open the door.”

Seeing it was Xia Qi’er, Wang Shaojun finally breathed a sigh of relief, but the sense of crisis hadn’t completely disappeared.

At that moment, there came another knock on the door.

This time, Zhang Wenze opened it again, but strangely, there was no one outside.

Who could it be? Maybe someone was just fooling around.

“Guys, I can sense something coming.” Wang Shaojun said nervously.

“Don’t scare me, my face mask almost fell off just now.”

Affected by Wang Shaojun’s emotions, Xia Qi’er started to feel scared too, and even Zhang Wenze was the same.

The three of them sat on a bed, holding a dried fish, a breadstick, and a mooncake as weapons. Then, the knocking on the door sounded again, and the three decided to play rock-paper-scissors to determine who would open it.

Of course, the lucky one was Wang Shaojun, who went to open the door. Slowly, he approached the door, grabbed the doorknob, and slowly opened it. It turned out to be Yinyue.

“Brother Yue! I’m sorry, I shouldn’t have abandoned you. Please don’t take my life. I want to live for another five hundred years.”

Wang Shaojun grabbed Yinyue’s leg and started crying in pain. Yinyue looked at Wang Shaojun with disdain.

‘Was this guy having a mental breakdown today? Or did he think acting crazy would make me let him off? Impossible.’

“When did I ever say I was going to take your life?” Yinyue said to Wang Shaojun.

Wang Shaojun looked up, tears welling in his eyes.

“Aren’t you Brother Yue’s vengeful spirit?” Yinyue covered his eyes with his hand, avoiding Wang Shaojun’s gaze.

How could he have such a silly roommate? He even felt a bit embarrassed about wanting to hit him. He was worried about being infected.

“Come on, if I were a ghost, you wouldn’t be able to touch me. Have a little sense, will you?”

Wang Shaojun thought about it carefully and realized the point. If Yinyue really was a ghost, he shouldn’t be able to touch him, and yet here he was, touching him.

So, there was only one truth. The person in front of him was the real, living Yinyue. Wang Shaojun let go of Yinyue’s leg and got up from the floor.

“Great, I’m glad you’re still alive. I thought that petite body of yours would be drained dry by that young lady from the Xiao family,” Wang Shaojun exclaimed excitedly.

“Forget about all that nonsense. Where’s my portion of milk tea?”

Yinyue got straight to the point, demanding his milk tea from Wang Shaojun. Speaking of which, everything that happened today was because of the milk tea.

If it weren’t for that milk tea, I wouldn’t have gone through all this. Milk tea is truly trouble. I’ve decided, I’ll drink a little less from now on.

This… made Wang Shaojun feel guilty because he hadn’t bought any in the first place.

“Ahahaha, it’s getting late. I’m going to bed now. Early to bed, early to rise, keeps the body healthy. Brother Yue, you should go to bed early too,” Wang Shaojun said as he turned around, ready to go to sleep.

Yinyue grabbed his shoulder.

“Wang Shaojun, don’t go yet. I actually brought a gift for you.”

This guy clearly didn’t buy him anything. Well then, he won’t have to go easy on him later.

“A gift? Where’s the gift?”

When it came to gifts, Wang Shaojun suddenly didn’t feel sleepy anymore. He loved receiving gifts more than anything else in his life.

Yinyue revealed what he had hidden behind him.

“This is…”

Wang Shaojun looked at the belt Yinyue took out. I don’t think I need this at all. Why did Brother Yue give this to me?

“I said, Brother Yue, why did you give me this thing? I don’t need it.”

“Don’t need it? Why not? It will make you remember forever the importance of honesty.” Yinyue gave a wicked smile.

Huh? Wang Shaojun looked utterly confused, not understanding what Yinyue was talking about. But in the next moment, he understood everything with his body.

After the screams ended, Yinyue sat on his own bed.

“Phew, that felt really satisfying.”

Finally, his inner balance was restored. Tomorrow, I must show Miss what a real man is.

Yinyue suddenly felt confident again.

“Yinyue, where did you go with Classmate Yuluo today?”

Except for someone who was already lying on the bed, in pain, Zhang Wenze and Xia Qi’er both gathered around, wanting to hear his story. Under the pressure from their roommate, Yinyue could only share part of the story, and anything inappropriate was left out.

“Wow! I didn’t expect you to be so dominant, Yinyue. I was worried before that you might be overwhelmed, but it seems I was worrying for nothing.”

Yinyue removed most of the content, keeping only a small portion, and embellished it.

After hearing his roommates’ response, Yinyue held his head high.

“Of course, who do you think I am? Just watch me tomorrow, I’ll directly win her over.”

Yinyue was boasting, getting more and more confident. Zhang Wenze and Xia Qi’er listened intently, already looking forward to Yinyue’s performance tomorrow.

“But come to think of it, Yinyue, once is enough for knocking on the door. Why did you knock twice? You almost made my face mask fall off,” Xia Qi’er said.

“But I only knocked once.” Yinyue pondered, realizing he hadn’t knocked twice.

“……”

The other three fell silent. Could there really be a ghost?

Meanwhile, on Yuluo’s side, a small black cat jumped in from the window, and Yuluo picked up Yeming.

“Welcome back, little sweetheart. How did things go?” Yuluo said to Yeming, but Yeming remained motionless, as if angry.

“Alright, I know you want to reunite with your mom quickly, but let’s wait a little longer.”

If Sister Yueyue figured it out so soon, it wouldn’t be fun.

Seeing Yeming still unmoving, Yuluo thought for a moment, then smiled and said, “Don’t be angry, tomorrow I’ll make sure your mom comes over in the morning to hug you.”

Upon hearing these words, Yeming twitched her ears and wagged her tail. She looked very happy.

She really wanted her mom to give her a hug.
