My Good Life - Chapter 7.1
Li Weiwei’s short question was more like a command that requires an immediate response. I would have replied if not for the sour taste in my mouth while I braced myself on the wall clutching my stomach. Not to mention, his face was too handsome for someone who just woke up.
“It’s a ??? ?? ? ?????!” Li Peipei breathed deeply and opened her mouth only to curse again.
“??????? ????! That scared me to death! If I hadn’t run fast, something would’ve happened today! Oh ????! Mangzi is still there! I need to go back! You, come with me! I’ll take you to that man! ???? it! Go kill him for me!”
Li Peipei would usually compete with Li Weiwei, but when it comes to fighting against other people, she would go running to his side and become his sister.
Li Weiwei looked at his frantic sister, his expression calm. He ran his fingers through his hair, and like magic, it was instantly styled into his usual sleek hairstyle. He moved his attention to me, eyeing me up and down till it paused on the vomit at my feet. He frowned.
“Is your stomach injured?”
I weakly pointed to Li Peipei. “She carried me on her shoulder.”
“That’s better than losing your life. You know how weak humans are. You can’t fight against that.” Li Peipei told me directly, “Go call Xiao Lang. That guy is not easy to deal with.”
“What is it?” Li Weiwei asked before returning to his room. When he came out, he had an antique style, golden ring on his hand. It wrapped around his index finger like a rose with thorny vines.
That’s Li Weiwei’s magic weapon. When in used, it would turn into a golden chain. The first time I saw him use it, it was to put a leash on Xiao Lang who had transformed into a werewolf.
“I can’t tell. He has a black robe all over him. I couldn’t even see his face.”
Li Weiwei was fiddling with the ring, but after Li Peipei spoke, his movement halted. “Oh? Black robe?
“Yes! Black…” Li Peipei stopped then stared at me, “Su Xiaoxin, you said that the person who saved you from the zombie was dressed in a black robe?”
I swallowed hard at the pressure I felt from Li Weiwei’s gaze. “Yeah, but I don’t think it’s him. It happened too fast. I couldn’t see anything. But even though I didn’t see his face, I know that they’re different people. The man who saved me was very gentle so…” Even in this situation, just the thought of that night made me feel the warmth of his hand lingering on my head. I didn’t know why. “It can’t be the same person.”
“You’re in love.”
Li Weiwei was usually the one that made those kinds of remarks, but this time, it was his sister while he didn’t say a word.
After a moment of silence, he whistled, and a figure jumped down from a balcony on the second floor. With a loud thud, Xiao Lang landed steadily. As he walked towards our landlord, two shallow footprints on the cement ground were left behind him.
“I told you before, don’t jump out of the window.”
At Li Weiwei’s rebuke, the little werewolf weakly uttered, “I…I didn’t pay my rent in time. The least I could do is be there on time when the landlord called me.”
“Hm.” Li Weiwei hummed, sounding satisfied. “Let’s go.”
“What are we going to do?”
“Meet someone.”
Li Weiwei was assertive when he spoke. I have no idea on what they’re about to do, but as a weak human, I’ll only become a hindrance if I follow them. I don’t want to drag them down and so I could only support them from behind as they avenge their grievances. Li Weiwei walked to the front, still dressed in his pajamas. Behind him was his sister, his pet werewolf and his other pet, the talking cat. Together they headed to the battlefield.
“Where are they going?” Yu Meimei, who was brushing her teeth, poked her head out from the third-floor window.
“To a fight.”
“What? While in pajamas and cotton slippers? Is the landlord looking down on his enemy too much? He’s taking it lightly. It’s also daytime.”
I looked at their disappearing backs, then clapped my hands together. “This scene is intense! I’m gonna go draw it!
“Intense? He’s in pajamas and cotton slippers! What do you take your readers for?”
I ran back to my room as fast as I could. Even with the persistent nausea, I kept on drawing the update.
Unfortunately, I haven’t finished my drawings when they all came back. Li Weiwei looked perfectly fine, Hei Gou was sleeping on the yawning Xiao Lang’s back and the mountain of a dog named Mangzi was sleeping in Li Peipei’s arms.
Turns out, when they arrived at the scene, no one was there aside from Mangzi who was only sleeping on the ground
I thought this was the end of it, so I put it in the back of my mind. The identity of the man and the reason he attacked us was no longer important. Besides, Li Weiwei was already handling it.
Then the next day, Li Peipei’s shoulder started to hurt.
She came to me to give her a massage, but once she took her top off and I saw her right shoulder, I didn’t dare lay a finger on her.
“What’s wrong?”
“Ah Peipei, have you taken a shower?”
“…I was so tired yesterday I couldn’t even open my coffin. I was on the couch all day. Why, am I too dirty?”
“It’s not that.” I brought her to the mirror, “If you took a shower, you would’ve seen this.”
Li Peipei was stunned at the sight of her back when she turned to look at the mirror.
“What the ???? is this?”
