Otome Game no Heroine de Saikyou Survival [WN] - Chapter 146.1
Contact
“Elena, can you use…?”
“If I just activate it…”
“Okay, I’ll go ahead.”
After confirming that there was no sign of demons around Elena, I rushed out to cover the duo that we decided to help.
Normally, I, as her escort, should not leave Elena’s side. But I know that Elena was working hard to get out of this situation.
That Cruz person and Dark Elf were being attacked by more than a dozen insect demons.
The Dark Elf seemed to be in a good condition, but the Cruz boy was not so strong, and the Dark Elf was fighting while protecting the wounded boy, so the Dark Elf could not make a breakthrough such as using his Combat Skill.
The stimulated insects, lured by the scent bags, never ran away. This was contributing to the current standoff, but I asked them to maintain the standoff and went to eliminate the “root” that was creating the current situation.
As I rushed to the battlefield, I kept my “eyes” fixed on the fighting men and the insects.
I ran up the wall of the ruins, tying a pendulum string around it, and leaped in front of the two cat-beastmen lurking there.
“”Nah!””
Just as the two beastmen were about to take up their bows in astonishment, the blade-sickle-shaped pendulum, which was yanked back and sent circling, ripped one of them deeply in the neck.
“This woman, do you know who we are?”
“I don’t know.”
But I guessed. From the way they immediately tried to eliminate us as witnesses, I guessed that they were probably the Munza Association, a criminal organization that unites rough beastmen.
I didn’t know anything about the relationship between the Munza Association and those two men. But to trap those two, these guys, incidentally… also tried to kill us who were witnesses.
However, it was the same for us. Now that we got involved with the Munza Association, there was no point in letting them live after they witnessed us.
“You little girl!”
As he pulled out his single-edged curved sword, I dodge the blade of the beastman who attacked me, then closed in at once, crushing the man’s throat with my elbow strike before wrapping my arm around him and breaking his neck.
It was necessary to not use blades. The first man I killed had the smell of blood, so I tossed him away, and when I went through the belongings of the man who had a broken neck, I was able to find an unsealed scent bag.
I figured that since they were trying to erase witnesses, they would also have spares in case something went wrong. And as expected, I did find spares, and when I broke the seal on the bag and threw it at a distance, several of the insects that had been attacking the two men were distracted and moved away from them.
But this was only temporary. I’m certain that over time the scent would spread and attract more insects, so I’ll end this before it happens.
“[High Heal]”
A recovery Magic came from Elena, who has now managed to reach the two when the insects moved away.
The Cruz man who received the High Heal looked surprised, and the two beetles, excited by their new prey, turned toward Elena.
“[Water Ball]”
More of Elena’s Water Magic was released, stopping the insects in their tracks, and as the water accumulated and spread making the ground wet enough to reach the area near Elena’s feet, she sank her hands into the mud, concentrating even more of her magical power.
“[Giga Volt]”
[Giiiiii!!!]
The combined water and wind magic [Giga Volt] of level 3 was transmitted through the mud, and the beetles, whose nerves had been burned, screamed as if they were trembling.
Insect-based demons have a dull sense of pain. Even with Attribute Magic, wind and water could not do much damage, fire and earth would not be effective unless the range was widened, and even ice would only have the effect of slowing them down.
But not with lightning-based Magic. It could penetrate the hard shell and directly attack the nerves of insect-like demons, which were insensitive to pain.
Elena lost her fire Magic attribute, but she was working to replace it with “Lightning Magic,” a combined water and wind Magic. Currently, it was all she could manage to activate, and it was not powerful enough to kill the insects, but it was enough for now.
With my cloak fluttering, I jumped down from the roof of the ruins like an ominous bird.
With a single aim, I thrust my black knife into the joint between the necks of the insects that had stopped moving, and then cut off the heads of two of them in quick succession.
The insects would not be killed by simply crushing their heads, but having lost their command system, they would be unable to attack, and would eventually die.
At the end of the road, the two were still fighting, but as the number of insects decreased and the Cruzian boy, healed by Elena, was able to defend himself, the Dark Elf boy tore into the wounded insects with his two daggers.
As their numbers dwindled further, the Cruzian boy joined in the extermination, and when there were only a few wounded left, the Dark Elf boy suddenly jumped out of their ranks.
Gakiin!
The dagger of Dark Elf approaching like a gale clashed with my black dagger, releasing a high-pitched noise.
“What the hell are you doing, woman?”
“That’s our line.”
*Gin!
We didn’t engage in a sword fight, but our blades sparked again as we simultaneously moved away from each other.
Immediately, Dark Elf kicked off the sand on the ground, and as I spun around and shot a knife from my thigh, Dark Elf repelled it with his dagger.
“Aria!”
“Camille!!!”
Elena and the Cruzian boy’s voices echoed. As if to override them, Dark Elf Camille’s killing intent was unleashed, and in response, I too shifted to annihilation combat.
I jumped forward, allocating my physical strength to speed, and without looking away from the sharp blade that Camille aimed at me, I avoided it, and for the first time, Camille’s eyes were wide in surprise.
Camille ducked as I jumped in and dodged my dagger in a backward step. I threw several throwing knives at him in response, and the black chain that Camille threw from his sleeve shot down all the knives as he was out of position.
A thin chain of magical iron weights. The Evil Race, the woman I defeated in the mountain village, also used a similar weapon, but if Camille possessed the skill to manipulate strings, the power of this weapon would exceed my pendulum. The chain weight, being continuously brandished, shattered the ground and rocks.
*Gan!!!
A deafening sound echoed as the weight-shaped pendulum, which I had carefully sent out, was intercepted with the tip of the chained weapon at high speed.
Chains and threads entwined shortly, as a result of their similar nature.
Neither of us let go of it and pulled it with our left arm, and as we felt each other’s magic power rising, we simultaneously took the Combat Skill stance, and that’s when…
“Stop!”
“Stop!!!”
Another shout to stop us was heard up close, and our blades, with our Combat Skill unsuccessful, snapped to a halt, with each other’s eyebrows pressed against each other.
“Wait, wait, Camille!”
