Otome Game no Heroine de Saikyou Survival [WN] - Chapter 146.2
The Cruzian boy, exhausted, intervened between us, as I wondered if they were able to take care of the remaining insects. I see this situation to activate my thread manipulation skill to break free from the chains, and as I move away from them, a grim-faced Elena lined up next to me.
“What are you doing?”
Elena let out an angry voice. Her whole body was filled with magic power, as if she was about to release Magic, and her golden hair, which gently surged as if charged, stood on end.
The Cruzian boy raised his hand to stop Camille, who was alarmed by Elena’s appearance and was about to step forward.
“Could you stop and wait for a bit? This is not their fault. We were saved because of them.”
“We didn’t wish for it.”
“Seriously, you… Ah, I’m sorry about my buddy here, Mercenian ladies.”
“…”
Elena, who had been hiding her face from the friendly Cruz boy’s words, realizes that her hood has been removed, and she quickly reaches for it. But Elena stopped her hand and chose to face him, glaring at him with her bare face.
…Elena noticed it too. For a moment, he looked at her sharply, as if he was trying to gauge her value.
“I’m sorry, but… are you sure you’re the right person to be negotiating with? May I ask your name?”
“You ask a woman’s name, but you don’t give your name first?”
“I guess so… you can call me Ron.”
“Well then, you can call me Rena.”
It was a fake name, no doubt by all accounts, but there was no point in telling them our real names here.
If it was originally a pseudonym, like mine, and it was an adventurer’s alias, there would be no problem with people knowing it, but it would be wise not to mention the name of Elena, the princess.
The boy who introduced himself as Ron did not seem to mind such a false introduction, and this time he bowed his head with a serious face.
“Thank you for helping out. You two have been on the wanted list of a few troublesome people.”
“Did we do something wrong?”
Ron chuckled slightly at Elena’s playful mention of the Munza Association.
“Didn’t you ruin one of their businesses? But you guys are safe now… I suppose? I guess your friend took care of the rest of them, huh?”
Ron’s gaze turned to me, and his eyes narrowed slightly.
“She’s pretty strong…I’ve never seen a girl who could go toe-to-toe with Camille.”
“I didn’t expect him to be a match as well.”
Camille was strong. Like me, his cloak made it difficult to accurately measure his fighting strength, but I felt that he was as strong as or even stronger than me.
I had no intention of fighting him directly and losing, but that would be the same for Camille. As we crossed blades, I felt that he too was still hiding his trump card.
“I wondered if there were many of them with such skill in that town.”
“No way, if there were many guys as strong as Camille, I would have escaped from that town by now, but if I don’t know that, have you guys been there recently?”
“Does it matter?”
When Elena coldly replied to the probing conversation and words, Ron laughed lightly, shrugging his shoulders.
“I don’t really care. It’s just that you seem to be like some young lady and her escort…”
Elena responded with a cold smile without changing her expression.
“Oh, just like you guys?”
Elena and Ron looked at each other with cold smiles on their faces, while Camille and I stared at each other silently.
“That’s enough.”
Surprisingly, it was Camille who broke the tense atmosphere. He placed his hand on Ron’s shoulder, who looked at him somewhat dissatisfied, and tossed one coin toward me.
I grabbed it in midair and opened my hand to find a large gold coin I had never seen before.
“It’s a gold coin from the Khalfaan Empire. It shouldn’t be usable even around here.”
“Are you okay giving us this much?”
If this was as much gold coin in Cleydale Kingdom, it would be quite a reward for saving them.
“Well, that included an apology for the rudeness of Ron’s actions.”
“Camille, that’s uncalled-for, you know?”
Ron turned a pitiful half-look at Camille, who had put himself aside. Elena, who had pinched the large gold coin from my hand with a somewhat slackened atmosphere, smiled a little wickedly at them.
“If it’s an apology for rudeness, shouldn’t it be more?”
“…”
Elena smiled like a flower, and Ron chuckled again, releasing one more small gold coin to me.
“It’s a pretty high price, well, it’s a small price for our lives. Then it’s time for us to leave. The bugs might come back.”
“Yes, let’s do that. Even if we are in a town, we will still be strangers, right?”
“That would be for the better… but one word of advice, then.”
At Ron’s words, we stopped for a moment to finish our conversation and get moving.
“Don’t trust anyone in that town. Whether children or old people, even if they are smiling today, tomorrow they will be your enemies. Including us, of course.”

Cleydale Kingdom, Royal Magic Academy
To prevent the attack and disappearance of Princess Elena from becoming public knowledge, all but the senior nobles and their associates were ordered to stay at home in the name of repairing the academy.
Some of the students were far away from their estates or had no separate residence in the royal capital and could not move, but the number of students in the school had now been reduced to about 20% of the total.
The senior nobles and the Crown Prince, who is royalty, remain at the academy to quell the confusion of the remaining students and to control information.
That was why it was necessary to reassure the students by showing them having tea ceremonies and the like, as if the daily life of the school was still going on, instead of moving around busily.
“Clara…. I heard that you used harsh words to this Miss Alicia. Why did you do that…”
“I was simply trying to teach her some common sense as a ‘noblewoman’.”
Crown Prince Ervan’s words were met with a scornful sneer from his first fiancée, Lady Clara Dandol, the frontier Countess.
Five men and women gather around a white marble table in the Rose Garden of the Seventh Building, the newest building on campus and home to the chambers of the senior noble families.
Ervan and Clara, the two engaged to each other, were seated not next to each other, but facing each other, with Baroness Alicia Mercis, a middle-class noblewoman, seated beside Ervan.
On either side of them were no Mikhail and Rockwell, the Crown Prince’s entourage of frontier counts, as they should have been. Instead, Amol, the brother of the king, and Nathaniel, the grandson of the temple’s chief, took their places at the table, both of them looking at Clara as if they were enemies.
A short-distance away from the table were their squires, knight guards, and attendants dispatched from the royal court. Among them was the Cruz butler, Theo, who looked irritated and shook his head with a sullen expression as the “young lady” glanced at him with a troubled look on her face.
The girl named Alicia, her cheeks puffed out in slight discontent at the young butler’s attitude, touched Ervan’s hand under the table with a frightened expression on her face.
Clara glanced at Alicia with a dark look in her eyes, wondering what she had sensed, although she should not have seen such an appearance.
“You still don’t understand, do you?”
“Clara-sama, I don’t…”
Alicia looks down with a melancholy expression on her face, as if she had calculated the angle from which she would be seen.
“The tea is getting cold, isn’t it? I’ll have it re-brewed. Anyone?”
Ervan lifted the tea cup in front of Alicia, which had gone completely cold, and motioned to the attendants to take it from Ervan’s hand.
“Oh my, ladies and gentlemen, what are you doing, leaving me out of the group?”
Carla, whose pale face was covered with dark circles, smiled with sincere amusement as she approached them.
