“Rena…what are you doing?”

Ron’s voice was mixed with confusion when “Rena” said that she, too, was going to look for the children who had gone outside.

Ron himself thought that it was necessary for him to go looking for Naru because he was the one who decided to protect the children. However, he knew that Rena’s purpose in staying with Ron and the others was to avoid danger, and he vaguely assumed that she would choose to wait.

Why would Rena choose to go to a place where there might be danger? 

Ron also knew that the girl who called herself [Rena] was [a Foreign Noblewoman].

She may be hiding it, but only a high ranking Nobleman would be able to afford such an escort for a girl of her age, based on her complexion, language, and behavior.

When he saw Rena and Aria, he at first suspected them of being counterintelligence. Although he did not make contact with them, there were some merchants in the flow who gave off such an air.

However, that suspicion soon disappeared. The two girls, a young lady from a good family and her escort, were too conspicuous in many ways.

There was no end to doubts, but if it were not for suspicion, it would have been reasonable to assume that some nobleman had been involved in an incident or accident.

It was understandable, then, that the girls were trying to get out of town.

Ron had no intention of getting involved at first, but when he learned of their abilities, he thought that he could use them for his own purposes… Camille, who had come to work with Ron for one reason or another, seemed to be attracted by the words and actions of her escort, Aria, but Ron was intrigued by Rena’s judgment and negotiating skills.

Ron was a nobleman of the Khalfaan empire. Although he and his brothers were far apart in age, unless he made his position clear, he was likely to be targeted by his brothers’ faction.

For this reason, Ron took the gamble of going on a dangerous mission alone. He was not allowed to act alone, but he later learned that this was possible only because his brothers’ faction was behind the scenes, working on the background.

Ron was allowed to use the only hot-air balloon available, and when he went to this place, he was attacked by his followers who were escorting him, but he survived by destroying the hot-air balloon himself.

Perhaps the squires were also in the clutches of his brothers’ faction. The squires died in the fall, leaving Ron alone in the town, and he started to struggle to survive.

It had been almost two years since Ron came to this town. He was unable to contact his country, and his registration as an aristocrat should be nearing its limit. He will survive and return home for sure. Although the name of escaping from the town was the same as Rena and the others, Ron felt that the “reason” he could sense from her was different from his own.

In the past two years, Ron had developed feelings for the orphans. Even though he knew he could not save them all, he could not abandon Chaco and the others whom he had come to know. Camille was probably the same way in this respect.

It was probably not the right idea for an aristocrat. However, Rena’s eyes that look straight at Ron were different from Ron’s, even though they say the same thing of [saving], he felt as if he was looking at the world from a broader perspective like [his father].
