Otome Game no Heroine de Saikyou Survival [WN] - Chapter 162.3
“What about those suspicious people?”
“We sent them to the rear just in case. But as long as we don’t know their purpose, I don’t know if that’s the right thing to do.”
“Yeah, I think so as well…”
After a brief meal break, the adventurers set out on foot again.
In this region, relatively docile subspecies of the beetle dragon might be used in place of horses for transportation, but there are not enough of them to carry this many people in a short period of time. Therefore, the basic plan was to travel on foot with almost no rest, and from this point of view, it was deemed appropriate to have the humans follow in the rear, guarding the dragon chariot loaded with food.
Then, a few hours later–
“Guild leader! A cloud of sand in the distance!”
“Here they come!”
Jesha smiled broadly at the report from the leopard-like female beastman who had been out scouting.
The fact that the dust cloud could be seen even from a distance meant that there were that many demons running amok. But still, Jesha let out a smile because she would rather be swinging a battleaxe than thinking about detailed schemes.
“Bastards, get back in formation! Rock Dwarf, the shield-bearer, will go in front and catch them dead! Mountain Dwarfs, get behind them and destroy them the moment they stop! The beastmen, move as you wish and kill them!”
[ooooh!!!]
“Guild leader, some of them aren’t bastards!”
Several female beastmen, including the scout from earlier, shouted teasingly.
Basically, dwarves of the same race are heavily used in the guild, but even so, the few female adventurers are still valued for Jesha’s personal requests, and now, to some extent, an easy-going relationship has been established across races.
“Don’t get excited! I’ll use magic first!”
More than half of the female adventurers were magicians, and at Jesha’s direction the beastmen and human magicians began to prepare their magic behind the shield user.
“I can see them!”
The first to close in with a cloud of dust was a fast-legged beetle dragon and some insect demons that could fly. After confirming that none of them were heat-resistant fire lizards or the like, Jesha had the sorcerers cast a fire spell.
“Stop the momentum, fire!!!”

“–[Air Bullet]–“
Elena’s wind bullets rip several beetles off the ground, exposing their abdomens.
“Haah!”
Ron jumped in at that moment and split its belly with his sword, slashing its head from under its chin.
There was nothing that Elena alone could not defeat if she used powerful spells. Even so, she knew that if she had a warrior as a vanguard, she could conserve her magical power and fight.
Ron was not as good as Camille, but he had survived in this town for two years, and his ability had reached Rank 3.
However, after easily defeating a few monsters, Ron’s expression showed a slight hint of impatience.
“I can’t believe there are monsters even in a place like this…”
“Yes. Something is wrong. Let’s hurry.”
The information about the mass outbreak of demons and the beginning of their rampage had not yet reached the two of them.
Both Elena and Ron believed in the bad premonition they felt on their skin and were wary, but Ron was feeling impatient, partly because of Naru, but also because he was feeling impatient as a man’s pride, having involved Elena in such a situation.
But the Claydale woman was not so weak.
Elena before might have felt some anxiety, but now that she was prepared, she was able to keep her composure to a degree that surprised even herself.
(Before I was… ready to die, but not ready to risk my life…)
