Otome Game no Heroine de Saikyou Survival [WN] - Chapter 163.3
“Doryaaah!!!”
Jesha’s two-handed axe smashes into the ogre’s head.
“You bastards! Show some guts!!!”
The adventurers led by Jesha had finished dealing with the fast-footed first group of runaway stampede of monsters, and the battle with the second group had begun.
In the first group, which had been strong, several shield-carrying dwarves were killed or wounded in the clash with the rampaging scaled dragons, but since many of the monsters were low-ranked, no major damage was done. However, the second group was mixed with sand ogres unique to this region, and the clash with the Rank 4 monsters was starting to cause damage to non-shield bearers.
“You guys, scatter some more!”
“We’re the lady’s guards, remember? We can’t!”
“If you don’t scatter, Zilgan will kill you!”
Jesha’s cries were answered with laughter by the dwarves under her charge.
The sand ogre’s fighting strength ranged from the upper Rank 3 to the lower Rank 4; at Rank 4, it would take several Rank 3 adventurers to deal with it, but at Rank 3, it could be dealt with by the same Rank 3 adventurers.
The reason for the damage was that most of the higher-rank adventurers were Jesha’s guards, and they were all around her. They knew Jesha since she was a toddler, including her chaperone, Zilgan, who sometimes ignored even her orders, prioritizing her safety over Jesha’s orders.
At the moment, no major damage had been done because the beastmen of the Munza Group were still at play, but there was no guarantee that things would continue to go on without incident.
“You guys…”
Jesha was gnashing her teeth at both of the troublesome paternal dwarves, but the next moment she had a belligerent smile on her face.
“Well, I guess I don’t have a choice then! Hey, tell the beastmen prancing around to gather the ogres in the center! We’ll deal with them all together!”
[Oooooh!]
The voices of the adventurers echoed over Jesha’s bellowing cries.
Four hours have passed since the battle of the stampede started, and the number of demons killed was probably more than five hundred. They still have potions in stockpile and were using as much of the advanced potions they got from [Rose] as possible. All year round, even if there was a stampede of monsters, it would end after defeating a thousand of them, but it remained unclear what would happen in the end.
There were several hours between the first and second groups, during which time the treatment and recovery of the magicians could be carried out, but depending on the contents of the third group, even that may not be possible in time.
(…Damn, I feel bad, you know? I can feel the monsters being stronger than before, is it because the ones in the back are coming out faster? If that’s the case, I can make a plan to finish early, but there’s also the suspicious humans, and if the next one is similar…, maybe I should have brought that [Rose] with me…)
The reason why Jesha did not request Aria to help with the stampede was solely because the dwarves were the main force and to have her priority the production of the potions.
However, Jesha’s real intention was because she didn’t want to ask Aria to do it because she selfishly regarded Aria, who was also a woman and had the same Rank 4 power, as her rival, and asking Aria would be like admitting that she was not strong enough.
She knew that it was not good for her as the head of the guild, but Jessha still looked like a young girl who had only reached adulthood when converted into a human being.
“Guild Master! That thing!”
“What, the third group…”
A female beastman scout jumped under Jesha and directed her attention toward the ruins. If she looked closely, she could see a cloud of dust approaching from the ruins, but that was not the reason for the beastman’s pale face.
The third group consisted of rock lizards, fire lizards, and other relatively slow-footed monsters with hard scales but not much in the way of rank. But behind them, advancing slowly to drive the monsters away, a shadow like a small mountain was about to reveal itself through the dust that covered it like a veil.
Glossy scales that seemed to weave black and brown.
Four horns that flowed behind it.
Insect eyes that looked like a mixture of gold and silver.
The master of the ancient ruins of Reiz Veil, the Earth Dragon, stood on all four legs, its huge frame more than ten meters high, and its roar echoed through the desert earth as it found a new prey.
