Otome Game no Heroine de Saikyou Survival [WN] - Chapter 166.2
“–[Stone Bullet]–!”
“–[Dark Mist]–“
The moment I run up to the top floor, the waiting Dark Elf and my magic are activated simultaneously.
Magic could set a target by just being aware of what was happening, but it wasn’t a guaranteed hit. With a split-second glance, I released [Stone Bullet], which pierced through the darkness, and with the momentum of my rush, I leapt up to the ceiling and kicked the face of the man who opened his eyes in astonishment as I kicked the ceiling and aimed at his face with my heel with a blade.
Even at Rank 3, it would have been dangerous if they had used a ranged attack such as [Water ball], but the weakness of mind of being fixated in using a powerful attack rather than low-power magic resulted in deciding the winner.
When I turned my gaze toward the ruins after clearing away the enemies occupying the tower, I saw a cloud of dust that obscured the scenery from a distance and a group of black armored figures were moving amongst them.
“…”
Jesha and the others were probably lost… after all, the Demon Army was already this close to the town. It could be that they have been defeated and survived, but given the nature of Jesha and Zilgan, they would fight to the death, or if they did live, they would probably not get away unharmed.
Still, the fact that the number of monsters was not very visible was probably the result of the adventurers thinning them out. However, the fate of this town was almost decided when the adventurers of the Hoglos Trading Company were defeated.
Visually, the Demon Army numbered about 2,000. The true value of the Demon Army was not in its numbers but in its quality.
Soldiers of human nations ranged from 1 to 2 in rank, and skilled soldiers and knights were around Rank 3.
However, there were no weak soldiers in the Demon Army. Most of them were warriors and sorcerers of Rank 2 or above, and their high fighting spirit made them feared like monsters by the humans.
“Not good…”
A bead of sweat trickles down my cheek as I looked in the direction they were going. At this rate…the Demon Army should be passing near the tower where we were based.
I looked around and found what I was looking for in a basket at the back of the tower.
What I was looking for was a way to contact the town. It would be inefficient to send people to the town every time. So I searched for something, and found a large amount of dried succulent fibers and a few ceramic bottles.
Without hesitation, I threw the bundles of fibers into a fireplace-like area and lit them with life magic. I dumped the contents of the jars into the fireplace, and as expected, a reddish-black smoke began to rise.
Perhaps this was some kind of beacon. The reason I came here was to see if I could get the word out to Camille, who might not be in town. If Ron, who was at the base, also noticed, he would know what was going on in the town.
Besides, if the town’s residents would be aware that there would be an attack from the outside, they would evacuate and–
“–!”
I looked outside the tower to see the advancing Demon Army…a rumbling sound that shook the atmosphere rang out from behind the rising dust cloud, and a huge ball of fire shot towards the watchtower as if to drown it out in a cloud of dust.
At that moment, I leaped into the air through the window of the watchtower, which was several dozen meters high.
Immediately afterward, the top floor of the watchtower where I was standing was burned by the flying fireball, and with a thunderous roar, I kicked the outer wall to avoid the shattered pieces and landed on the desert sand, using my cloak for deceleration. I rolled many times in the sand to kill the momentum and impact as it was, and finally looked up after a few dozen meters away from the sand.
