Otome Game no Heroine de Saikyou Survival [WN] - Chapter 168.4
In a house owned by a noble family at the Royal Academy of Magic in the Kingdom of Claydale, a girl wearing a pitch-black dress was enjoying the aroma of tea on a large terrace.
“I’m bored.”
Her long, black hair, which seemed to eat up the light, swirled and tangled around her toying fingers.
Her skin was unhealthily pale rather than white, and the dark circles that made her look as if her eye sockets were hollowed out made her look more like a pariah than a sickly woman.
She was one of the Crown Prince’s fiancées, Countess Carla Lester.
But there was a smile on her mouth when she said she was bored. But it was not a cheerful smile that made people feel at ease. It was a smile of amusement that made others uneasy.
Carla was ordered by the royal family and her father to stay under house arrest at the school’s mansion.
This was because Carla attacked the Holy Church in the capital, killed all the devotees who were called saints, and harmed Nathaniel, the grandson of the Baron of Vestments, who was the temple’s head.
Although a settlement was reached with regard to the Holy Church, perhaps because of some behind-the-scenes matters, the ugly news never disappeared. The royal family wants to be associated with a powerful noble family, and Carla’s father, the Earl of Lester, wanted to be associated with the royal family, so Carla’s punishment was limited to house arrest.
Carla’s father’s aides came to check on her several times to keep an eye on her.
When Carla was young, her father and his entourage were arrogant toward their daughter, but after he realized that Carla’s abilities exceeded those of her father, the first court magician, he refused to see his daughter, and the look in his entourage’s eyes when they looked at Carla showed a fear that he could not hide.
Carla wondered what her father would look like if she killed her entourage. Once, she burned one of his entourage to the bone, but her father, who did not like unpleasant rumors, hid the fact from the public.
“Heh.”
Nathaniel, whose face was burned, still had not fully healed from the burns on his face even after a month had passed. It would take six months for the facial nerves to regenerate since Carla burned him so thoroughly.
About once a week, her fiancé, the Crown Prince Ervan, showed up to see her.
As his fiancée, he is very serious about his own well-being, and Carla was sure that he had been told by His Majesty the King that he should come to see her. Therefore, he was cornered and devoted to a foolish woman, but Carla liked his foolishness.
He was a stupid, foolish, and adorable man who became even more heartsick when even his beloved sister, the princess, went missing. If he became King, how much disorder would there be in the country, and how many people would die?
To this end, Carla supported the aristocratic faction, brought in the demons, and sowed the seeds of discord by keeping those who supported the prince in the dark.
The greater the anxiety surrounding Ervan, the more he became devoted to that foolish woman, and the more she enjoyed watching his heart drift away completely from Lady Clara, who cared for him dearly.
A smile crept onto Carla’s lips as she wondered who would hurt him the most to kill first when Ervan gave his heart and body to that woman.
“I’m bored.”
She knew the main reason why she felt bored.
It was because she wasn’t around.
Aria…the only girl who would kill her.
The only one Carla recognized.
Carla wanted to be killed by Aria, who was serious about killing each other in the burning city of the capital.
She wanted to live only for her and die by her hand, rather than die sick, or die at the hands of a rabble, or die being judged on the decapitation platform.
No matter how harsh the environment, Aria would always come back alive. She would return with the strength to kill Carla, using everything she learned as food for herself.
However, Carla was beginning to get tired of living an uninspired life without her.
“I think it’s time to pick her up. Will she be happy to see me?”
Meditating, Carla smiled like a girl in love…a dainty smile that would give anyone the chills.

A dark room, damp air, stone floors and walls….
In the dungeon of an old castle, a wounded girl, chained inside, quietly awoke and turned her strong, shining jade-colored eyes toward the “darkness”.
