Elgrim spoke as if he was looking at someone else but in my image. I have no idea what it was, but it seemed to have saved my life here for the time being.
Elgrim stood up from his seat without further comment, turned his meaningful gaze on me and Aishe, and walked towards the exit. Aishe, who was left behind, stood up, swallowing her words, as if she wanted to ask something.
“Fine…I’ll settle things with you in the dungeon. Until then, try not to die.”
She turned her last hate-filled killing intent on me, and as she turned to leave, the warriors under her command who followed her also turned an odd killing intent on me.
“…Aria.”
In a room empty except for us, Camille turned his glaring gaze on me.
“You disapprove?”
“Of course not!”
Camille was a kind soul. He was probably angry at me for jumping into the dead for him, and at himself for not being able to stop me. I was sure he would have plenty of things to say to me for forcing my way into his life. But now was not the time.
“We’ll talk later; Camille and Kadori, go see if you can find some weapons for Jesha. I’m sure she’ll say she’ll definitely join us.”
“…What about you?”
Camille asked me in confusion as I interrupted him and sat down in the chair left in the room.
My position was that of a prisoner; I had decided to fight as Camille’s warrior, so the other demons could not easily touch me, but even so, I was not free to move. But Camille furrowed his brow when I didn’t move from the spot, and I waved my hand lightly to reassure him.
