Otome Game no Heroine de Saikyou Survival [WN] - Chapter 174.3
The Demon Army was not monolithic in its commitment to the cause of the Demon Nation. Some simply fight for the Demon Nation and for the Demon King, while others join because they see the human races that view them with hostility as a threat. However, those who became Aishe’s subordinates were all admirers of Aishe’s strength.
When Aishe decided to participate in the [Selection Ceremony] to determine the Demon King, Adra and his lieutenants also decided to participate as warriors.
As Charlemagne said, strength was the hallmark of a Demon. As its lord, Adra could not think of anyone more worthy than Aishe as his lord.
However, the weak prince with human blood sent a human woman as a warrior to the sacred ceremony to decide the King.
Adra knew of the peach blonde woman, the one who had cut her way into the Demon Army alone and had been taken captive in one-on-one combat with Aishe. Adra was with Aishe at that time. But that woman used cowardly tactics to separate Aishe from them.
It was unforgivable that she had dishonored his pride as Aishe’s second-in-command.
“…I’m going to teach that human woman the Demon way.”
The Selection Ceremony would take place three days from now, when they would enter the dungeon at the same time to decide who would be the victor and who would be the loser. But the battle had already started.
The Selection Ceremony was a battle to the death. Strength was honor. Even before entering the dungeon, they were taught that killing enemy warriors by making it look like an accident was a matter of course, and that it was foolish for warriors to let their guard down.
Both the prince with human blood and his followers were too lenient. At first, he thought of killing that prince with his own hands and showing his power as Aishe’s right-hand man, but Adra decided to kill that abominable woman first and trample on what little hope he had.
“Hmmm…”
Adra licked his tongue as he imagined the prince’s despair, and pulled the “black knife” from his waist.
Adra’s [black knife] and [black dagger] made of magic steel were the spoils of the previous expedition…
They were probably made by dwarves. Adra, who found them among the spoils of war and thought they were not suitable for a human to carry, used his position to take them for himself half-heartedly and forcibly.
It was a good quality knife. The woman, who was good-looking even though she was human, seemed like a perfect target for the test cut.
His blood boiled just thinking about cutting up that beautiful, scruffy face. However, he calmed his mind with a long exhale, reminding himself that his opponent was a warrior who could match blades with Aishe, even though she was a human.
“…Where is that woman?”
At Adra’s muttered words, a translucent dwarf who looks like a girl softly appears and lingered on his shoulder.
Adra was a spirit user. Normally, spirit magic was considered almost unusable in buildings and dungeons, but a “gate” could be used to summon spirits by consuming Magic Stones with their attributes.
Adra consumed Magic Stones to summon a low-ranking wind spirit. Although it was difficult to understand the intentions of beings with fundamentally different thought forms, a Rank 4 spirit user such as Adra could communicate with them to some extent. And with spirits of this rank, there was no fear of being noticed by their magical powers even inside the fortress.
According to the low-rank spirit of the wind, that peach blonde woman was still alone in that room. Strangely enough, however, the low-ranking wind spirit shows a frightened feeling towards that woman, and Adra grinned as if to reassure the spirit.
“Don’t worry. No one will be able to see through me and spirit Magic.”
