Hi, everyone. Please support us on Patreon (Click HERE). Thanks.

One of the men, who had been moving along the passage ahead, away from Camille and the others, suddenly looked around, and the man next to him asked in a whisper.

“Well, it seems something is different from before…”

“Did we take a wrong turn?”

“No, I don’t think so… Sir Gram, we’re going to take that third aisle to the right next.”

“Okay, okay. You guys, there’s a hole in the dark there, be careful.

“Ha!”

Even dungeon maps did not cover every hole in the floor and inaccessible places.

Not even the distances were accurate, as they could not measure the exact elevation differences or the angles of turns. Still, they were able to move on without getting lost because Gram, who was leading the way, was able to find a hole that led underground.

In dungeons, parts of the ceiling and walls are faintly illuminated to lure in prey. In a normal dungeon, this would be useful, but in the case of this intricate dungeon, complex shadows were created that hid the holes in the floor, making them look like pitfalls.

A pitfall would only sprain a foot if it was only a few meters long. However, in this dungeon, there was a hole that led not only to the second floor, but also to the third floor, and it was known as an instant-death trap.

Using [Light] would have made it better, but it would still have been dangerous. However, Gram was able to smell the difference in the floor hierarchy from the “smell” coming from underground and was able to avoid the deep hole.

If they followed the map… they would be able to ambush the prince. As they were advancing at a quick pace, they suddenly heard the roar of a [beast].

“Monsters!?”

“Which direction!?”

“There are so many of them, what are we going to do?”

All of them pulled out their swords with a tense look on their faces at the roars of what seemed to be a dozen or more beasts that suddenly came out of nowhere.

Even if they were demon wolves, there would be no problem with their strength. However, in a narrow place like this hidden passageway, they could not swing their swords satisfactorily, and Gram immediately decided that they would be at a disadvantage against four-legged beasts.

“Go to the back! We’ll meet you in the clearing!”

The surprise attack would be impossible, but if he was wounded here, it would also be difficult. If that was the case, Gram thought it would be better to immediately eliminate the demon wolves and fight the princes head-on, so he sent out instructions to his companions.

But–!

[!?]

The friends who jumped into the clearing disappeared.

Did they move to the side so as not to get in the way? Without any way to confirm this, he tried to call out for them to stop, but at that moment, a powerful “killing intent” attacked him from behind.

“What?”

The group of people following him, frightened by the deadly force, pushed Gram away even as he tried to halt. The moment Gram stepped into the clearing, where no one was in sight, his body was thrown into the air.

There was only a deep hole. Suddenly, the screams of his companions could be heard. Then followed by smell of the third floor that Gram could feel in his nose….

As Gram fell into the hole, he saw a peach blonde girl looking down at him coldly from the edge of his vision, and he understood everything.

The [Roar] of beast, the [smell] that filled the surroundings, the [wall] on the way, the [Clearing] that could be seen at the end of the passage, everything was an illusion…. It was all a hallucination….

“…Next.”

Aria, who had been looking down at the nearly twenty people who had all fallen into the hole, wrapped the shawl around her neck back up and disappeared into the darkness of the dungeon.
