Third Outer World Story Series: Pumpkin Sorcerer - Chapter 102
Translator: MadHatter Editor: MadHatter
Lowizc was sent backward into a cupboard stuffed with items from other worlds by a straight right-handed blow from Pumpkin that landed in her face.
“Phew… Have you braced yourself for your death?”
“Wait… wait… ah!?”
Pumpkin performed a loop combo utilizing his flying ability as well after Lowizc fell to the ground and a barrier was put up to restrict access from outside.
With winter coming to an end, on the way back from a New Year’s visit to see Count Kunuki, Pumpkin had dropped by “Umitsuki Stationery Shop” to settle accounts for the past year but what drew his attention was Lowizc, who was holding a 1/16th scale figure of a girl, an apostle (lol) of the God of Creation, wearing a suspicious smile on her face.
He must have suppressed the emission of his magic power so that Lowizc was unaware of his entrance inside the shop, but the tiny quantity of magic power that escaped in response to his rage seemed to have alerted Lowizc to his presence.
Even as she hid the figure behind her back, she was smiling… but it was already too late.
And so, with all his might and magic power, his straight right punch did a blast on her. The reason Pumpkin came to the store was for another story, but his reminiscence was concluded and he returned to the looping combo.
“Ugh… today is a bad day for me…”
“Hey… what are you complaining about after hitting someone with a fist filled with magic power that would obliterate an ordinary magical beast.”
At the end of the combo, Lowizc stood up and walked over to him, somewhat in pain.
However, unfortunately, even though she was a pervert, it was clear that she was a very powerful person, so it was truly unfortunate that he couldn’t finish her off. Furthermore, the figure in question was covered with a blue membrane at some point and was free of any scratches.
This would compel Pumpkin to use [Resonance Concert Spell・Four Seasons Set Edge] if he was serious about doing it. Even so, it was doubtful that it can be destroyed.
“So, what can I do for you today?”
“It’s to settle… forget it. Oh, yeah. Lean-sama told me to get some information from you.”
“Information? Hold on a second.”
“Okay. I’ll just browse the merchandise.”
Lowizc, upon hearing his words, retreated to the back of the store and began whispering something to someone in a different language than the one spoken in this world.
The second purpose why Pumpkin came to “Umitsuki Stationery Shop” was because a few days ago, Lean told him to seek information from Lowizc unilaterally.
The reason was unknown. It seemed that hat Lowizc was unaware of it as well, so getting the information could take some time.
Therefore, Pumpkin spent some time reading the magic on the store’s merchandise.
“I made contact with them. And here’s what they want me to give you to read.”
From the back of the store, Lowizc came out with a piece of paper (?) in her hand.
The questionable aspect was that the exterior resembled paper, but the texture of the paper was distinctly different from that of a piece of paper, and it was somehow metallic.
“It’s nice that I received it, but what’s the point of me reading it?”
“I believe you have done this before, but our president said that if anyone wants to be given it, they can at least link their own vision with that of their followers, so anyway, why don’t you read it anyway?”
Pumpkin looked down at the paper Lowizc gave him… but he couldn’t read it at all, it was nothing but a list of unintelligible symbols he had never seen before.
Then, when he fiddle about with an arrow-like object on the paper’s edge, a different text—which was another collection of cryptic symbols with an unintelligible message inside—appeared.
“What is it?”
“I can’t read this…”
“Don’t you have some kind of translation spell?”
“…I’m sure your superior has already gotten the message, but I suppose you should know its contents as well… It can’t be helped, I’ll read it for you this time.”
So, he handed Lowizc the piece of paper to her and asked her to read it for him.
For now, I will seriously consider developing a translation spell later on.
“Um, the contents of… the first one is ‘Dear Li××ce=R=××××ty-sama’ Thank you very much for your service to ‘Multi×Tra××Com××Co×lex’ today. We are currently monitoring the area around the ‘R××-Ix4-xx1 World’ and deploying a ‘Time××barrier’ that is limited in scope to low-level God. The other day, the ‘Life××Carrier×××Wolves,’ who is related to ‘X,’ made contact with the ‘Time××barrier’ and we succeeded in having the ‘Time××barrier’ deployed in Kruika, Madosa, Senko Country, three years later without being noticed by the person in question. We will leave it to you to deal with the ‘Life××Carrier×××Wolves’. And the second page is the various data that accompanies it, including the level of data that we have on the ‘Life××Carrier×××Wolves’.”
“…Is it in Japanese?”
So Pumpkin asked Lowizc to read it for him but… for some reason there was noise and inaudible words mixed in there, and he couldn’t understand any of the details.
At any rate, the only thing that was clear to him was that something was coming to a place called Kruika, the territory of Madosa, Senko, in three years’ time.
“To begin with, that’s not the common language of this world. Furthermore, if there are words you don’t understand, it’s not my fault; rather, it’s that you are not proficient enough and instinctively reject understanding.”
I have nothing to say in response if you claim that I lack proficiency.
After all, what can I say, I am still not competent enough… I’ll have to think about a lot of things when I get back to Samsara Egg Village.
Consequently, Pumpkin transcribed the contents of the paper onto a piece of regular parchment and put it in his pocket.
