“Mmm-hmm.”
Now that he was back at his base, he immediately started to work on the project.
But what exactly did he intend to do? That would involve dismantling the boar as part of a training exercise for all sorts of things!
“Hmph!”
Therefore, his whole body was fortified at once.
In this state, the boar’s carcass was hung up by several vines, and its body was cut open from the belly side using vines that were as thin as possible and could serve as sharp blades once they were reinforced.
Gochuri Gochuri!
Yeah. As I thought, moving the vines delicately while strengthening the whole body, and practicing gathering and maintaining the light is the optimal way to train.
Fortunately, the boar was dried out, so its weight wasn’t that great.
Knock, thud, snap!
As for the bones… maybe I can use them at one point? Since I don’t need the entrails and meat, I’ll dispose of them at an appropriate site later. It may be good to bury them as fertilizer, but I don’t want any strange things to arise. Ah, if I compress the brain until it becomes mushy, I can suck it, so I’ll do that. But how do the remaining hides… be made into tanned hides?
“I can tell the flesh and fat would need to be removed as it would lead to rotting, but that’s about it… For now, once the flesh is scraped off, I’ll try to dry it out.”
Over and over he traced the surface of the hanging boar’s hide with the reinforced vines to remove the flesh and fat.
For whatever reason, he found it to be a fairly gruesome sight, yet it didn’t provoke him any sense of nausea or unpleasantness. This might be another effect of having this body, but since it was convenient, he wouldn’t be bothered.
As for the nausea, he didn’t have a vomiting mechanism to begin with. He was a pumpkin after all.
“Oh, something has turned white.”
After a while of scraping the meat, the skin on the side that was attached to the meat became white.
Everything should work out fine for a while.
Subsequently, the meat and organs, which would normally be deemed edible parts, were buried in a hole dug in the ground at some distance from the base. Even if an animal was to hunt for this meat, there would be no harm done to him.
He buried the rest of the remains in the ground, leaving only the bones that seemed easy to use, such as the skull and femur. The skull will be made into a decorative piece for the base, and the femur will be shaved down after breaking it properly to make it look slightly like a knife.
Despite its lack of strength, the femur might be effective enough to deal with a foe provided he struck a vital spot.
“Now then, I shall move on to my research.”
Leaving the boar’s skin stretched out here, he trained himself for maintaining a sphere of phosphorescence by gathering phosphorescence in his hands, and retrieved the object that was emitting phosphorescence that he had obtained today.
“Yeah. I knew the phosphorescence would be disappeared in this part.”
After all, except for the mineral materials, the other materials had lost their phosphorescence.
The phosphorescence seemed that if it was left alone for the time being, it would dissipate in half a day or so.
Hmm. Perhaps there is some way to replenish the phosphorescence? If so, I expect various fascinating things will take place.
“I’ll test it out.”
So, with the phosphorescent light gathered in the palm of his hands, he picked up a handful of grass that was growing around the place.
Then, as if the plant were absorbing water, he slowly poured the phosphorescent light into the veins of the leaves.
Little by little, the phosphorescent light began to emanate from the entire leaf.
“Mmm…”
But that was the end of the story. From this point on, even if the amount of phosphorescence injected into the leaf was increased would have no impact, and decreasing the amount would result in the phosphorescence ceasing to be emitted. Somehow, this made him feel like he was just treating the leaves as an extension of his body.
“Yeah. I want to perform more magic-like wizardry.”
How should I put it? I am in a different world after all. Even though I can already cast a magic-like technique called [Gust Blow], I would like to work with proper magic if at all possible.
In fact, if it was possible, it would be preferable to call it something like “magic power” instead of “phosphorescence”.
“Ah, there are plenty of materials to make use of anyway, so I might as well just pour my spirit into it with the intention of destroying it all.”
Once he was conscious of the phosphorescence throughout his body, he accumulated it to the limit in a single point on his hand.
When the light was consolidated to its limit, it began to emit an intense light, but instead of releasing it, he channeled it… into the boar’s fangs that he had acquired today with the aim of destroying it!
“Eh, wow, what the heck!”
The tusks of the entire boar then suddenly began to glow.
He rushed over to assess the situation, but before he could do so, he had a bad premonition and flung the boar’s tusks far away.
“Whatttttt!?”
In the following moment, the boar tusks exploded, scattering light and a blast wave throughout the area.
“Is this for real… I had the intention in mind to cause an explosion, but I never imagined an explosion would really occur…”
After the explosion subsided, he looked at the explosion center.
The force of the explosion itself was roughly the same as [Gust Blow] as far as it can be discerned. However, the light consumption was much greater than that of [Gust Blow].
This would render it useless.
But the fact that the explosion was triggered by flooding it heavily with phosphorescent light indicated that there was something that was driving it.
He continued to ponder and accelerated his reasoning.
If this conclusion is correct, then the explosion may have been brought on by the overload generated by a large amount of phosphorescence that was forcibly poured into it.
Assuming this conclusion is accurate, the explosion would naturally be useful, but more than that, it could also be inferred that if the light is properly infused, the original functionality of the technique can be achieved.
“Fufufu… this is becoming a little entertaining…”
Having made a speculation like this, all that remained was to find out if he was spot on or not.
I wonder what will happen – I am incredibly intrigued.
Okay, I will continue to work hard on my research tomorrow.
He then concluded his research for the day and turned in for the night.
