Reincarnated into a Game as the Hero’s Friend - Chapter 234.1
Was it Shakespeare who said, “The world’s a stage, and every man an actor?”
I thought of this as I watched the Crown Prince’s back as he waved his hand from the balcony of the lord’s mansion and responded to the voices of the city people. If he were an actor, he would certainly be a very good-looking actor.
Beside him, the King’s imperial envoy stepped forward and read out His Majesty’s proclamation, which declared that the Coltrezis House had rebelled, that he had been stripped of his title, and that the kingdom had forfeited his marquisate.
The proclamation, however, was practically a repeat of the previous ones. The fact that this was read out in the Foan, which was the second largest city in Coltrezis House’s territory, was nothing more than a stunt to show the marquisate’s citizens that the marquisate was already the land of the royal family.
When it came to the pronouncement after this, it was just a public announcement of what all the leaders already knew from the time they left the royal capital, but I wondered if it was necessary to do so.
“…In addition, the former Marquisate of Coltrezis, Colts, shall be placed under the direct jurisdiction of the Crown Prince Hubertus, who shall also be given the title of ‘Grand Duke of Coltrezis’.” (Crown Prince)
A murmur of voices could be heard from the side of the citizens, and when the knights shouted “Long live His Highness the Grand Duke of Coltrezis”, voices of chorus went up from all over the place, including the citizens.
It may sound fancy, but I think it was also the knights’ sincere feeling from their heart, since His Royal Highness the Crown Prince had a good reputation among the knight corps. His Royal Highness waving his hand in response to the voices made a pretty picture.
It was difficult to judge whether it was a cheeky display or not, but in any case, the oracle spread by the Coltrezis House that “a King will come out of Coltrezis House” had certainly become true in a different sense. After all, Crown Prince Hubertus had now become the Grand Duke of Coltrezis.
Well, I understood the need to show the obvious by doing the obvious. I didn’t mean to sound like I was saying this out of spite, but there were still many naive people in this world, so it was surprisingly effective to hear a great person say something like this.
Incidentally, His Highness asked me jokingly, “In your capacity as Assistant Minister of Civil Affairs (Welner’s father’s representative), will you read it out?” and I did my best not to be impolite and declined the request. It was the job of a specialist to read something like that. I didn’t have the confidence to be able to read it out in public without fumbling my words.
“Thanks for your hard work, everyone.” (Crown Prince)
“Hahaha.”
After the stage display, or rather the national performance, the meeting started in the largest dining room in the Lord’s mansion as a meeting room for convenience. It was a little bit awkward because of all the large nobles.
The first item to be decided was about suspending military operations for two days and resting the entire army in shifts. With the size of Foan, it was not possible for everyone to relax, but it was unavoidable since there was no way we could go without a break. I then began to report on what had happened so far and to confirm the current situation.
Baron Kvaernergel then reported that I had captured the fourth prince of Farlitz and beaten the cavalry.
Baron Kvaernergel was the guarantor of my achievements.
After listening to Baron Kvaernergel’s report, including Baron Dhonyani’s achievement in the Foan invasion, His Royal Highness the Crown Prince nodded and looked at me.
“You did well.” (Crown Prince)
“I am honored by the praise. The one who directly captured the fourth prince was Gekke, one of the mercenaries, so I would appreciate it if you would give him some consideration.” (Welner)
“Yes. I will contact him directly later. Bring him to me.” (Crown Prince)
“Yes, sir.” (Welner)

Thank you for the chapter!
“Many naive people in the world” is a universal truth.
Lord Rin
So they’re taking advantage of the unverified and likely false oracle about a king coming out of Coltrezis. Hubertus is now the grand duke of Coltrezis and since he’s the crown prince too, once he ascends the throne it can be said that the oracle has been fulfilled. This will be easier than trying to spend effort to convince the public that the oracle isn’t real. I mean the oracle is most likely probably something made up by a third party to manipulate Coltrezis House and those guys didn’t try to verify it because they just want to hear what’s convenient to themselves and spread word of the oracle to the public so they can use it as an excuse to pursue their ambitions. Welner’s side would’ve had a lot of trouble trying to convince people that what they heard was fake so it’s just easier to change the target of the oracle to somebody else.

Well, if it’s hard to convince the people that the rumor is fake, make it true by crafting your own scenario
