Reincarnated Villainess Does Not Want Revenge - Chapter 84
Translated by: ShinigamiTori
(Bonus Story) After the Wedding
With the wedding behind us, we relocated to our newly set-up residence.
After a few servants helped me prepare for bed, I found myself lying rigid on the sleeping platform in the room where we were to rest as a married couple.
At long last, it’s here.
The so-called wedding night.
I know it in theory, but of course, this is the first time experiencing it, and I’m feeling incredibly nervous as if I might lose my composure.
Alberto was still at the celebration with the knights and the palace officials, but I was allowed to return a little earlier than that. The servants had told me to come back a bit earlier because the preparations would take some time.
Preparation for what?
While I was in a state of confusion, my glamorous make-up was removed, and the wedding dress that Reynaldo had custom-made for me or had secretly created, who knows when, had already been taken off, and now I was wearing a nightgown that the servants had prepared for me.
Yes, a nightgown.
I was too embarrassed to look directly at it, so I wore a robe to hide it.
Is it common for women in this society to wear such nightgowns and wait for the night?
Or is this a custom unique to the capital? At least in Edigma, I don’t believe such things were common. I had friends who were married, but I never once heard of such a thing.
I was so embarrassed to be waiting for my husband to come home, with everything new to me, that I decided to cuddle under the blankets on the large bed.
Is it alright if I continue to stay like this and go to sleep?
Just as I had that thought, Alberto entered the room, almost as if it were perfectly timed.
“Marie. Sorry I’m late…. Have you already gone to bed?”
Alberto, who seemed to have finished bathing shortly after returning home, had slightly damp bangs. His usually tied-up hair is now down, making him look younger than usual.
“I’m awake… Welcome back.”
“Yes. I’m home.”
As I peered out from under the blanket and spoke to Alberto, he gazed at me with a gentle expression, as sweet as a runny egg dish.
The way he looked at me throughout the ceremony was also so tender. When I remembered how he looked at me with such love, my face reddened like a tomato.
Come to think of it, I’ve been using food analogies a lot. Maybe I’m hungry?
“Aren’t you tired?”
“I’m fine. I’m sure Alberto-sama is more tired than I am.”
From after the ceremony, he greeted the guests and was congratulated by the members of the Knights’ Corps. He had a broader presence and a more prominent position than I did, so it was indeed a fact that he couldn’t easily slip away from the ceremony.
“The thought of Marie waiting for me lightens my step. But more importantly…”
Alberto sits on the bed. The soft bed sank slightly under his weight. I’m still wrapped in the blanket, and Alberto looks down at me as he gets closer.
“Will you show yourself to me, Marie?”
The gentle murmur in my ear was provocative, making me inched away while sitting up. I kept the blanket covering my body.
Alberto seems to know that I’m showing some small resistance out of embarrassment, and he chuckles while gently fixing my disheveled hair.
“Since we’re married now, shouldn’t you call me by my name?”
When Alberto brought it up, I recalled that he had once said it was fine to call him by his first name, but I had maintained the formal address due to his status.
I opened my mouth.
“Alberto… Is this okay?”
“Yes. Thank you, Marie.”
With just the use of his first name, Alberto’s face lit up with delight, and he planted a kiss on my cheek.
Since our engagement, he had been interacting with me in a way I had never seen before, as a lover.
I have never known Alberto as a lover, not when I was Rosemary nor when I was the knights’ maid, but he’s been incredibly sweet. As sweet as confectioner’s sugar.
His kisses flowed seamlessly, touching my cheeks, my fingers, and sometimes the nape of my neck.
Without words, he conveys his affection through his subtle, tender touches.
He says he is not good at expressing his love in words. He mentioned that he wasn’t accustomed to turning his feelings into words, as he confessed at the ball almost spontaneously.
But more than compensating for that, Alberto’s eyes and fingers convey his feelings to me with just a touch.
It was a period of engagement during which I received Alberto’s feelings, which were not superficial, in earnest. I’m too shy to respond, so all I can do is accept his gaze and place my hand on top of his fingers that are touching me.
I sincerely love him as well.
But I’m concerned that I haven’t been able to communicate my feelings properly.
I wonder if Alberto understands how much I love him, to the extent that I think like this.
“I couldn’t wait to see you.”
“Me too.”
Starting with a kiss on my cheek, he then gently presses his lips against mine.
His chestnut-colored eyes met mine.
Up close, Alberto looked young, but I could still see a few wrinkles that indicated the passage of time.
“You look like you’ve been through a lot.”
“I suppose… As I’ve grown older, the hardships have increased too.”
“There are dark circles and wrinkles around your eyes.”
“I put in a lot of effort to have the wedding quickly, and the wrinkles…. It’s probably because of the increase in paperwork.”
With a joking tone, Alberto laughed, and a wave of emotions surged within me, prompting me to cling to him.
“Marie? What’s wrong?”
Alberto asks curiously, probably because it’s rare for me to cling to him. Then, he hugs me back tightly in his arms.
“I don’t know, I just wanted to be like this with you, Alberto.”
“What a tempting invitation.”
The wrinkles etched in Alberto’s eyes weren’t there when I was Rosemary.
Feeling the weight of the passing years once again, I became a bit melancholic.
However, I found comfort in the warmth of Alberto’s embrace, and I wanted nothing more than for us to hold each other like this forever.
“As much as I love this, should we continue to the next step?”
Alberto asks while maintaining eye contact with me, and it seems that he’s signaling his intentions through his actions, despite his slight hesitance.
The heat emanating from his fingertips was hotter than anything I’d ever experienced.
I’m not good with words either, so I answer his question by interlocking our fingers.
“I can finally have you all to myself.”
Our lips met as if to convey that any further conversation would be pointless.
Before I knew it, we were in a dimly lit room that was illuminated by the lamp’s faint light.
In the midst of this first-time experience, I clung to everything with reckless abandon.
The next morning, Alberto, who had woken up first, discovered my nightgown that had been skillfully removed.
I was dying of embarrassment.
And here we have the official ending of the main story! The next few chapters are kind of like a “What if…” story, not exactly a side story as I said before, so I think it’s optional if you want to read it or not. Of course, I will translate them until this novel finishes though, don’t worry! Thank you for the support ?
